SMS was a miracle for my dog and I. I adopted a year-old Great Pyrenees mix from a rescue during the pandemic, and though he knew the basic commands, I was having a hard time progressing his training. I was frustrated and he was frustrated. But after our first lesson, I was crying tears of joy. My dog and I finally understood each other and our relationship improved tenfold. We’re now working on getting him to be a therapy dog. Thank you, Troy and the Sit Means Sit team.

Great experience for both my 7 month golden retriever and me! Very professional staff who clearly love dogs. We now have a great foundation from which to work toward a Good Citizenship Certificate and maybe even Therapy Dog training. Fun!

I took in a deaf rescue at 18 months old with absolutely no training done with her. I worked with her for a year to address severe anxiety and fear of strangers. Finally realized I needed professional help to progress any further. Sit Means Sit took us under their wing and worked wonders. She is now responding to hand signals, tolerates humans and other dogs much better and is thriving with her "homework". Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Trainers were able to adapt lessons for a deaf dog and the one on one time with them was invaluable. I would highly recommend this company if you have a dog that has issues.

I had a great experience with sit means sit! From the Google Meets consultation to the actual trainings and the follow up homework/weekly assignments, I have been so impressed by how professional everyone is and how thoughtful the trainers are. I enrolled my 6 month old puppy here in the day camp program so that she could learn the basics and have good fundamentals. She was such a puller on the leash (and also anxious from distractions and noises) which did not make walks fun. She was also extremely shy. After the program, she's more confident and going on walks with her is fun again. Not only did my puppy learn a lot, but I did too and it's strengthened our relationship. We were paired up with Gerardo and he's awesome. I could tell that him and my puppy developed a special bond as well - he genuinely cared about her growth and development. I also love that he customized trainings and learnings based on problem areas or challenges I came across week by week. Your dog will be in good hands at sit means sit and every day life with your dog will get better day by day. You'll see the results! I can't wait to join the group classes.

I highly recommend Sit Means Sit and especially the great expertise of trainer Adam Gates. He was outstanding and was great to work with. My dog loves him and loves learning new skills. He obviously loves his work and he is an outstanding trainer!

Terrible shock collar training. Your dogs deserve better than folks who are ok with using unscientific forceful and painful methods in order to push a dog into submission. A good trainer doesn’t need to use a shock collar. Only a lazy impatient trainer does. Since you at Sit Means Sit have responded. I’ll add that I have taken in numerous dogs that were trained at SMS that the owners were left with no options other than surrender after aversive methods were used to the point that the fear in the dogs created horrible behavior. Since proof is in the pudding as you say, I can honestly say that SMS has not had to be the ones dealing with the consequences of their archaic and in humane training methods. Rescues have! Science is stronger than anything that SMS uses as an excuse for terrible training methods.

I purchased a second Yorkie puppy who was far more of a nightmare than my first one. I ended up booking two appointments with Maci there. She was great with Yogi and her recommendations ended up being invaluable. Definitely worth it! Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because this place was completely booked for a month straight before Yogi could be seen for his first appointment. Due to how much time it would take to have one appointment I decided to book my 2nd appointment with the idea of booking it the subsequent week. However, oddly THAT week was booked too.

We had a great experience with Sit Means Sit. Our pup made incredible progress during the 3 week day camp program. Well worth every cent! The program was completely catered to our pups specific needs and tendencies and his progress was just astonishing. They provided easy to follow home work. We are really impressed with their operation and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for assistance in their dog training. 5 plus stars for sure!

Believe all of the good reviews you read about Sit Means Sit! We had the basics down with our 1 year old Dalmatian, Ellie, but with all her energy and love of people and other dogs, we felt like we had done all we could by ourselves. We recently had her do a board and train for 10 days with Adam - oh my goodness. We can't even begin to say how much better she is doing! Adam did such a fantastic job with her. All throughout training we received videos of her progress, and I we always loved how happy she looked. We have had our two follow up sessions with Adam since, and cannot recommend him and Sit Means Sit enough. Well worth your investment!!

Sit Means Sit has been a complete blessing! Emma was a wild child with no boundaries and no effective way to communicate with her. Once we both understood the cue and her collar, she has exceled beyond what I thought was possible. She's so smart and I haven't yelled ONE time (let alone 100 times which was the norm) since she started training. From day 1 she was a different dog, one who has more freedom to go with me out into the public and even be off leash because she respects the commands. I'm going to be training my other dog using the same method and collar, learning this with Emma has been amazing and I'd recommend it for anyone!

Great staff! They taught me how to teach my old dog new tricks and more importantly how to handle being around other dogs!

Sit Means Sit has been an absolute game changer for me. I just finished my third week of all day training for my Boxer “Mack”. Mack is a super active energetic Boxer and his manners needed some work. He was a big jumper, growled for attention and listened when he felt it was most convenient for him. The difference has been night and day since I have taken him here. He doesn’t jump anymore, walks right by my side, and has just changed in a such an awesome way while still maintaining his goofy Mack qualities. He absolutely loves Misia and gets super excited when he sees her. Misia has been great as well as the whole staff at a Sit Means Sit. Mack just completed his first group class and is excited to continue. I’ve seen first hand how awesome this place is and I HIGHLY recommend them and couldn’t be happier with them.

I contacted Sit Means Sit because my Goliath was having food protection issues and basically anger issues. He had attacked 2 of my other dogs. I took him for a 2 week board and train. I was very nervous to leave him for 2 reasons. I was going to miss him terribly and I was concerned leaving him with people I didn't know. Would they be good to him, would he be scared .... etc. I was a very worried Dog Mom. They sent me videos of his training, which was great for 2 reasons. One was able to see what he was learning, and two I got to see him. Being able to even see a video really helped with missing him. When the 2 weeks was finally over, I went to pick him up. We had an hour of training at pick up and i was impressed with him and they were very good at training me! I also had to learn how to continue training. But what really impressed me and made me very happy was watching the interaction between the trainers and Goliath! He was very happy to be with them which took away any worries I had about how they had treated him. When we left he actually looked sad they weren't coming home with us! Since he has been home I have really enjoyed the new Goliath! He not only listens better he wants to! He really enjoys the training time. We had people over for Super bowl they brought their dogs, there was a lot of playing and food dropped on floor, because life happens. My Goliath was great the whole evening never had any problems! I definitely recommend Sit Means Sit and I am so very happy I took My Goliath to them!

Saw a girl leave a dog in her car walk another dog and leave the car off. It’s hot outside no dog should be left in the car, especially in a crate And they’re in small crates in a car. If you guys are so good at training no need to crate a dog in a car. What’s wrong with y’all. Poor dogs

Worth every penny. We had the basics down with Blade. However, he can be a bit stubborn and we could use more consistency. Sit means sit is there for us every step of the way! There’s a customizable program for every situation. Highly recommend!

I cannot rave about Sit Means Sit enough especially Adam. My dog Oliver had SEVERE separation anxiety - chewing on blinds, accidents in the house and crate, drooling in the crate, him hurting himself in the crate, and even on anxiety meds. I tried so many different options and nothing seemed to really work. We went to the consultation with Adam and he explained that his dog had all the same signs Oliver exhibited. Seeing his dog and explanation of the training method pretty much sold us. Throughout Oliver's 2 weeks away at bootcamp with Adam, he provided us the progress through videos and check ins. I know everyone says it, but Oliver really is a completely new dog. No more anxiety meds, accidents, and overall just a lot more calmer. He even made it the advance class within 1 week of having him back! Thanks so much to Sit Means Sit and Adam, we are eternally grateful!

They never answer their phone, and don't return voice messages. I've contacted another local trainer.

I really didn't think this place could do anything with my insane dog. She doesn't like people or other animals. She use to lunge and go insane. Now she growls but doesn't go insane. I feel safe walking her through the park. I didn't think I would ever be able to do that. We had gone through 2 other trainers before this. They all helped a little and contributed to her learning but Sit Means Sit was the last piece of the puzzle. They do cost a lot but I think it was worth every penny. We will be taking our other dog there soon. I also never felt pressure to buy a certain package through them. They evaluated our dog and gave us a couple different packages and told us to go home and talk it over. Thank you to everyone at Sit Means Sit!!

I was skeptical at first since I'm used to training that begins with group classes rather than ends with them. However, the system works. My most recent class was a perfect example. After a few months off for the holidays our dog was able to pick up where she left off and really impressed me with the skills she learned and retained.

Lot of dog training places around Austin. This one was one of the more expensive options, but WAY more effective. We tried the free classes at a ton of them before settling on Sit Means Sit and are so happy with our choice. They are super professional... Worth every penny
