Why isn’t there a 0 star option?

You cannot get in touch with this office! If you call, expect to wait an hour and then be hung up on by an automated system; if you email expect a meaningless automated response. Some of us are counting on this office to begin our jobs, but we’re just met with extended wait times and no answers. There doesn’t appear to be any oversight or accountability for this office.

I have been out of work for a month waiting for the BON to approve my compact license. The customer service reps who answer the phone have no more information than the portal and one rep refused x3 to forward my call to someone who could give me definitive answers. The physical office building is closed so that’s not an option either. Terrible way to treat nurses during a pandemic when the governor is asking for out of state help.

This is the second time I have called and had the experience of waiting on hold for an hour only to be told by the automated voice that they “are experiencing system problems” and to “try back later.” An email inquiry takes days to be responded to. I am not sure how to contact anyone at this office in a timely manner.

Honestly, if I could give 0 stars, I would. I have to email them at least 5 times before I get a response. Once I waited 7 days for a response that didn't even address the issue I had contacted them about. On top of that, they tampered with my application without my permission and without notification before or after doing so, which caused more issues that I had to resolve because the information they changed was incorrect and not based on anything I told them or provided them. Every time I call I am on hold for at least 30 minutes with 1 hour and 12 minutes being my maximum wait time. When I finally get to speak with a representative, they are always in a rush and will not give direct answers. UPDATE: I was on hold while writing this review and I was 36th in line to speak to a representative. I made it all the way to 27th place and then got a "We are sorry. We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." And got hung up on. There is no easy way to contact the board. And these are the same people that are in charge of your license. They are the people we are supposed to go to for answers. It's truly disappointing.

Wait time is extremely long. Ms. Teresa was very helpful with the name change process!

Wow! I waited on the phone for 40 minutes to talk to someone! When it got to my turn, I said, “hello,” on the line for 5 minutes straight with no response. I heard someone shuffling around and moving! Then someone came to the phone and hung it up! Wow I did not expect such poor service from what is supposed to be a professional business! Cannot believe the unprofessionalism shown today!

Trying to Endorsing my license in TX. It has been 3 months and I am still waiting. Every time you try to call them, you stay on hold for 30 to 40 minutes, and then they ask for your SSN number and out you back on hold and hang up! This is not helpful at all especially when you need your license to start working and support your family and help others in need during pandemic. Very frustrating experience. I can't believe that this is how they treat nurses who are on the frontlines of pandemic.

Web site doesn't function when you need to renew. Why not a message to say there is a delay?

No stars. In a time of a world pandemic, a critical nursing shortage, the board still takes an unacceptable amount of time to approve nursing license, to resolve contract agreements, to answer questions, etc… people should not have to wait MONTHS for resolutions/approvals.

Texas should be ashamed of this agency. I've attempted to change my address after leaving the state of Texas and it is next to impossible to get a response from the office. They don't respond to emails or requests. SAD

I get the feeling that if I walked into the board of nursing office and coded, rigor mortis would set in before these people would start CPR they're so slow.

It's a golden opportunity if you get ahold of any of the representatives or customer service agent when you call the listed number on the website. I swear you'll wait for hours. Today i was able to talk to a representative (after multiple attempts and waited for an hour or more via phone) i stated the reason of my calling and all she ask was my SSN and then put me on hold for another hour and then hang up tone. In total the call lasted about 2hrs and was only able to talk to her for a few secs. I swear i thought when they have the nursing portal open up it will be easy but like i said it's a golden opportunity when your at "que 1st" because you will be in the que for hours, its not a joke. They need to do something about this, people are waiting for response even in emails for months and months.

I wish I could give more but it's sad when you follow the steps as drawn out and requested such as send transcripts prior to licensure. Then the transcripts are lost. Upon inquiry there is no timely response. Sort of like they could care less that it was lost.

Although I was on hold for awhile and have been going back and forth in regards to my status to becoming a nurse, CARL was so helpful to me! He gave me reassurance about my status and gave me helpful information.

Carl D. Helped me with my application process and I really appreciate all the support he has provided. He is very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Getting support from him in application process is so much different then other operators and always leads to positive outcome. Thank you Carl D.!!!! Your helpful support is much appreciated!!!!

Good luck ever getting a person on the phone, or a call back...

Waited 50 minutes on the phone to speak with someone just to be told “WE ARE EXPERIENCING SYSTEM PROBLEMS, SORRY”. Wasted valuable time.

This place is just a nightmare to even try to get in contact with someone. I have lost count on the amount of times i have tried calling and emailing and never get a reply. I'm just trying to see why i haven't received my blue card yet i can't get in contact with no one. Have been trying to reach them for months and nothing. This is beyond frustrating!

Placed on terminal hold. They never came back on line. Told I could not mail CEU certificates to them - they had to be faxed or sent over internet.

Person who answered the phone was rude and condescending. Could not provide basic information although 15 business days was one day away

I am a nurse practitioner licensed in multiple states and I can honestly say this has been the most incompetent Board of Nursing I have ever encountered. I have been back and forth (somewhat because no one answers email and you rarely reach a human via telephone) for NINE MONTHS simply transferring a license from another state. I can imagine the hell new grads must endure getting their initial license. I am in the military, or I would just leave Texas at this point. This contribution to the shortage of healthcare providers is astonishing. The media or higher government office needs to investigate!

Need to hire people with customer service experience. They are very rude and clearly hate their job.

I have not received my blue card for months after requesting a copy via email ….numerous times, only to receive an automated message. Then when I call, I have to wait on the phone for an hour just for it to randomly hang up. I want to file a complaint but I don't even know where to file one then there always closed for whatever reason.

Moved to Texas as an RN using my multi state license. I applied in October for a Texas license and still waiting for it. Everything online states has everything completed and is still processing. Also multiple emails sent and multiple calls placed in which you are on hold for almost an hour and they disconnect. I guess the next step is the Governor.

They need to hire more people to take calls, not only that but the options they give you on the main menu do not direct you to a representative rather give you a long string of info you probably already know about. Better than Cali at least they give you where you are in the que.
