Midtown Groom & Board - Happy Mailman Austin, Texas

This is my first time I’ve left a review for an establishment and I am super pleased to say the least! I took my 1 year old Persian cat to get groomed for the first time and cannot believe how amazing they did! I’m usually very skeptical with groomers and their ability to give me the exact cut I want for my pets, so my expectations were low mainly because I didn’t want to be too disappointed if I didn’t get the haircut I asked for. With that being said, I asked for my cats belly to be shaved because he constantly gets matted in that area and doesn’t like to be brushed for too long or else he gets grumpy. I also asked for his feet to be trimmed since he has a lot of hair between his toes and to slightly round out the hair around his face for an extra cuteness factor. When I got my cat back, which ONLY took 3 hours, he was even cuter than when I dropped him off! Now my cat isn’t timid or scared of much so I wasn’t worried about him not cooperating with the groomer. I did however expect them not to be able to shave his belly since that’s a sensitive area for him, but they were able to fully groom him how I wanted and all without sedating him. I’m so happy that I finally found a groomer that knows what they’re doing and can do it quickly and efficiently. My cat came back to me asleep in his kennel because of how comfortable he was and I went home super excited to show my whole family his cute haircut. I will definitely be returning and bringing my other pets as well!!! As well, here are some before and after photos of him!

As a work place - by far the best place I have ever worked. I have never been anywhere more validating, caring, and somewhere that I wake up and actually look forward to going to look every day. It doesn't feel like a job, it's something you GET to go do. You don't have coworkers, you make friends you work with. The boss is a super friendly guy and the managers actually care about your concerns and take care of them right away, whether it be personal matters or with something going on with the business. Everyone is super understanding and you get to work with dogs!! As a business - I am very proud to be working at Midtown for just how well they handle the animals in their care. We well being of the dogs as our top priority, as it should be. They are always having fun playing outside, given a time for naps, and every person working with the dogs takes in depths notes on a dog who may have any slight issue their parent may need to know upon pick-up. You are trusting us with your baby and we do everything we can to give them the care they deserve! And you can see the fun they are having on our Instagram! All in all, I love it here. 11/10

They never answered the phone.

My dog has stayed before and been fine. He stayed 10 days ago and was just diagnosed with kennel cough. Won't be taking him back.

I (and my pup) ABSOLUTELY love Midtown! 1. Unlike other boarding places, they truly understand that it takes time for a new puppy to adjust to a new environment and require new clients to stay for a 6 hour evaluation. Other places have 15 minute evaluations which don’t give dogs a chance to get accustomed to new dogs and surroundings. After my pup’s eval, he came home happy and tired :) 2. My pup gets a lot of exercise and socialization. He is always excited to hop in the car and make the drive to Midtown. Once he sees that he is going to be staying there, he gets really excited and practically jumps out of the car! 3. The staff at Midtown are always on point and friendly. I know they take care of my pup as if he is one of their own and I know my pup loves being there because he no longer glances back at me when I drop him off!

Grooming was incomplete (Standard Poodle puppy trim): tail and paws not done, and coat was unevenly trimmed. Groomer didn’t refer to dog by name and asked for tip. Seemed impersonal, lacking warmth. We were there at 6:45 am. Hope it was just a bad day for the groomer.

The do an amazing jobs shaving cats and grooming rare breed dogs.

Fantastic place. I can tell they treat the dogs great because mine is always so excited when she realizes where she's going. I use them for daycare, grooming, and boarding. And they have been great when I've had to make arrangements like having someone else pick her up or drop her off. Best dog place in Austin!

They deserve more than five stars!!!!

I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their dog and wants a safe, caring, professional, and fun environment for them while they are busy or away. Midtown is right down the street from me, and my lab Angus loves it here. He never seems scared or frazzled when I pick him up. He is always excited to see me but in a calm and happy way. Not in a "thank god you're here" way. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure Angus is well taken care of. Brandi is exceptionally sweet to Angus. I love this place as much as my dog does.

Love this place. Caring staff who always do a great job with grooming, but more importantly seem genuinely excited to see our dog! She seems to play hard but also get plenty of attention and care.

My goldendoodle is almost 5 and he has been coming here for grooming since he was a puppy (about every 3 months). He always looks great and they always follow my requests for his cuts. Everyone is so nice, I would definitely recommend taking your dog to Midtown! And especially thanks to Jessica for being so patient with all my questions!

Rosie was dropped off grungy, matted and stinky. I picked up a beautifully. groomed English Springer with a shiny coat, trimmed nails and paws, and a classy skirt and bouncy ears. I had to call her by name to be sure she was my Rosie!

I have been a happy customer for decades. All of my pets have enjoyed their time at Midtown. It is a pleasure to recommend them for board, grooming and day care.

Griswold loves to play at Midtown Groom & Board. The out door area, with all the squirrels, is perfect for an active dog.

Just visited for the Weekend but my baby girl got to play & had an amazing time! She was tired/ happy when we left ???? As someone who also works with animals, this establishment definitely was great! We shall be back when we visit Austin!

I’ve been taking my pets to Midtown for many years. Their caring nature, safe environment, exceptional grooming and unmatched service are just a few of the reasons that I continue to go back again and again!

My dogs warmed up to them right away! That's when I knew they are not just trained to do grooming but they are actual dog lovers! Will be coming back!

Phoebe had a great time at MTGB! I appreciated the email I received with a report card on Phoebe's day along with some precious pics of my baby girl having a fun time playing in the water.

Our dog absolutely loves Midtown for daycare. The staff are so sweet and are great about helping us with last minute reservations and answering all of our questions. So happy we found our permanent daycare spot! ????

My pup had a great time at Midtown. Therapy were friendly and detailed in his report card, even following up about his allergies after we left via email.

I boarded my dog here for 2 weeks and when I picked him up he had pink eye. Nobody bothered to notify me of this during his stay or when I picked him up. His eye was clearly pink and had discolored discharge coming from it. I will not be bringing him back or recommending.

We used Midtown for the first time. Our 3 dogs are going through some anxiety as we are moving so they were a little challenging. The ladies took it all in stride. I appreciate the report card they sent after the first visit.

Midtown G&B does it right! They treat you like family and your dog feels right at home! Tucker went for his evaluation day and I was blown away by the level of care and commitment they provide your dog. They gave a full report on his day and made sure that he was comfortable in the environment. Overall it was an amazing experience and this will be my play care, boarding, and grooming location of choice moving forward!
