This clinic has been a legend in Austin since I came to Austin in 1978. I was so privileged to have been accepted as one of their human clients and for many, many dogs that they tested so well, so patiently, with such love, and when the time came to put my best friend down, they put them to sleep at no charge and cried with me as I said all my good byes. I will love Joyce and Anne all the the wonderful people who have worked there over the past 40 years until the day I die. There are no finer human beings, animal lovers and the BEST ANIMAL CLINIC I HAVE EVER HAD THE HONOR OR WILL EVER HAVE THE HONOR AGAIN TO BE IN THE COMPANY OF SUCH COMPASSIONATE COMPETENT VETERINARIANS AND VET ASSISTANTS. You will remain in my heart forever. Thank you for your exceptional service to my dogs.

Home town friendly and great care for my dogs

They are not taking new clients, but if you are already established there, they will see a new pet.

I've been taking my pets to Hyde Park for 25 + years. They are like family to us. I was an emergency room and day clinic veterinary technician for 10 years so I have personal experience dealing with both aspects of the business. The staff here is extremely knowledgable and dedicated to the well being of their patients. Their decision to not accept new clients or to go 'high tech' has helped keep prices ridiculously reasonable and their wait times manageable. I can't express the gratitude I have for these people in words. I admire their commitment to their profession and loyalty to their clients.

These people are simply wonderful. They go above & beyond & have awesome personalities. They really know animals & are very sensitive to what my lovely little terror needs.

My whole family have been coming to Hyde Park Animal Clinic for the past 30 years. The staff treat us like we are part of the family. They know our pets and take care of them like if they were their own.

I have been using Hyde Park for over 30 years and they are wonderful. I live in Leander but the drive to Austin is worth it for the care my pets receive.

No, they don’t take on any new clients but if you’re lucky enough to already in their system, they’re gonna give you the best damn service around. Even more, they’ll tell it to you like it is and never try to up-sell any unnecessary products your fur babies don’t need. I love this unit!

They are the best. However, they aren't accepting any new members. Only family. So this review is sad for you.

They have been marvelous with all my pets over the past 30 years. However, when my Afghan Hound became quite ill in December 2013, the animal emergency clinic where I"d taken him the night before gave me a disc with his MRI and X-rays to take to my vet. I waited on a very cold morning in my car until someone could help me get him out of the car. The vet tech was the first to show up. When I asked her to help me get him in (he weighed 52 lbs and could not walk and I am elderly and on a walker). As I asked her this, I mentioned that I had a CD with the reports and films from the emergency clinic. She said: We are not computerized. You'll have to take him to the clinic on Guadalupe. When I got there they said he was terminal, so he had to be euthanized. No free euthanasia at that place. I spent $850!!!

Been going for years. They aren't accepting new human patients but grandfathered people can add new pets.

While I'm sure they give good care, since they "haven't taken on new clients since the 80s", they were super rude on the phone. After they told me that, they said, "So, good luck finding someone." When I asked if they had any recommendations since I'm new in town they said, "No." and ended the call.

They haven't taken new clients in 30 yrs. Lady who answered the phone was nice enough, but it's pretty ridiculous that the vet clinic I'm closest to won't see my animals.

I have found these folks knowledgeable, friendly, caring, professional and would not want to go to another clinic and I travel 35 miles(one way) for each visit. My experience(mainly dogs, but a couple of goats) has been for only over 33 years and it's been a pleasure to know such fine people and vets. If you're lucky enough to ever find such devoted professional human beings that happen to practice veterinary science, treat them well and hope they have long happy lives. These are special people who are not greedy money grubbers. I'd love to have a business in Austin Texas that has such loving and devoted clients. They aren't for everyone one but those of us lucky enough to know them.

Don't call. They'll just tell you they don't take new clients and haven't in 30 years.
