I've trusted Highmark Kennel for over 20 years to take care of my beloved canine companions while we go on vacation. And for 20 years they have consistently delivered high quality care to our pets and professional, courteous service to us. Love this place! Book early for any holiday getaways, as they fill up quickly!

They do a great job grooming my Chica. She's not easy, but they have patience

It was a spa weekend for our 6 month old pup's first time away from home and family. He got outside play twice a day in addition to a few minutes at meal. He got a bath and had the executive nail treatment. He looked so good and was happy when we picked him up

I hate to give a bad review, but feel like I have no choice. I chose this boarding place because from the photos it looks like a big place with an area for the dogs to play and get some exercise. We left our 2 weimaraners ages 2 and 4 there for five days. When I came to pick them up I asked how they were and if they enjoyed playing in the big yard. The person working said, well you didn’t ask for play time, that’s extra. I was shocked! No one told me this on the phone or when I dropped them off. I would never let my active weimaraners be locked up for even a day without exercise. And to top it off they now have kennel cough. Both of them. An emergency vet appointment later they are both on antibiotics and coughing day and night. I called the kennel to inform them of how sick they are so they can clean and disinfect the place and the front desk assured me the owner would call me. No call. Nothing. This place does not care about animals. I’m so sick my babies were locked in a cage for 5 days with no exercise or interaction in an unsanitary place. I will never take my dogs back here and if you love your pet I would think twice.

Great place with a friendly staff. We don't use their services often but when we do, we know our dog will be cared for.

We have been taking our dogs there since they were pups for grooming, play days, and when we go out of town. They go at least once every other week and always seem to know when they are going! They get so excited they pull us to the door! I have always been very happy with their service and have peace of mind knowing our fur babies are in great hands. They even have a pool for the dogs to swim! Have recommended them to others who all thank me for the referral after they take their pup there. Highly recommend!

I will always bring my dogs here. The staff loves what they do and all the animals are extremely well cared for. Between the play times and all the attention my dogs never want to leave!!

We had a sad family event and had to go out of town suddenly for 2 weeks. These folks bent over backwards to make sure our dog was taken care of, even provided one of the shots she needed. Our dog had never stayed with anyone but us prior to this, is a fence climber, and she did great. I would not go anywhere else.

They took the absolute best care of our kitty! Friendly and helpful staff who clearly love animals.

Lovely place and wonderful staff. I took my dog chase to get groomed and the service was amazing. It was super fast and treated chase as one of there own.

don't know anything about the kennel but the owner grilled me on the phone about my older dog's condition. when I drove all the way out there to inspect the place I was told the owner had changed her mind. she was very inconsiderate, wasting my time and completely unapologetic for doing so. would you want to use a service like that?

I definitely recommend this place without hesitation. I've been to multiple groomers in the past although they always do a great job, however, Highmark blew my mind with my golden. Brittney recommended the cut and I couldn't be more happier as I never know how to tell groomers to cut my golden. Staff was friendly and helpful from the moment I called to schedule an apt to picking up my golden. The staff went above and beyond this week. I called earlier this week to schedule an apt, but they were booked. I asked them to call me back if anyone cancels. They followed up everyday to update me with their scheduling and I couldn't be more happier with their service. I am happy with his grooming and will be bringing my golden back to this place

These people are dog racist. That's a shame that the owner has prejudice against pit bulls and pit bull mix breeds. They never met my dog and they still categorized my dog a "liability". My dog is a therapy dog certified by the AKC. He does very well with children, cats and dogs. He had been to kennels such Pup Culture which accepts him with arms open wide. Hey Highmark, I feel this is an insult to me who spend my time training and socializing my dog to behave very good. Thumbs down! Shame! Shame! Shame!

We've boarded our dog here for several lengthy trips probably 40 or more days over the past 5 years. These folks love dogs and take great care of them. Once our dog injured herself while there (an aged-related joint injury that was no fault of the kennel) and they really handled it well : contacting us, taking her to our vet (at least a 25 minute drive) and coordinating with my sister-in-law to get our dog into her care. Above and beyond. I think many kennels would have simply said "get someone down here to pick her up".

Best kennel in Austin. They are experienced and true dog lovers. This is the only kennel I will leave my dog with.

Our border collie Travis loves his days at Highmark! He comes home damp from swimming, exhausted, and spoiled to pieces. He knows what days of the week are Highmark days, and follows us even more closely than usual so we won't forget to bring him. We love Highmark!

Want to keep this place a secret for selfish reasons.....they treat you and your dog like family. I always walk away knowing my dog is in the best of hands!

We were forced to evacuate our little town because of Hurricane Harvey and decided to kennel our dogs at Highmark Kennel for two weeks. When my husband picked up our two Labs, the staff who assisted him asked "Oh are you here to pick up "my" dogs? They aren't here anymore." I think she was partially right. They were glad to see my husband, but hesitant to leave with him. That's a great indication that they were well loved. With all the stress we were dealing with, we were extremely grateful to know our "kids" were in a great place. Many thanks to the staff at Highmark!

Best groomer and animal hotel we've ever experienced. Wonderful staff, fair prices, and very accommodating to our schedule. Highmark has Petco & Petsmart beat by a mile!

great place, been using them for years to borde our pups when we are out of town. they always take care of our pups when we are gone, and we know they take care of them because our pups are happy to be there... which is a wonderful sign.

Sally's been coming here for eight of her ten years and she always wags her tail enthusiastically when we arrive. If she were a swimmer, she'd love the pool. As it is, when she's outdoors for playtime in the big yard she can roam and sniff to her heart's content. Nice staff who know her and seem to genuinely care about her.
