Highland's Pet Medical Clinic Austin, Texas

My family has been going to Highland's for about 9 years now, and as long as we live in Austin, they will help us care for all of our pets. Dr. Venghaus earned mine and my partner's trust in two major ways: 1) He successfully treated and cured a persistent skin condition that our puggle had which no other doctors took seriously; 2) He helped us with long term care and treatment of my elderly cat's serious health conditions (incl. IBD and inflamed liver & pancreas) when other doctors would have just insisted that we put him to sleep. I pay attention to my pets' well-being, and the staff and doctors at Highland's listen to me and include me in the care plan for my pets. Today, that means 4 cats, but over time, it has included 2 other cats and our dog. It is a great clinic where I know most everyone by name, and I know they care about my pets.

Over the past fifteen years, I've taken five cats and one big dog to Highland's Pet Medical Clinic for veterinary care. I very much appreciate the professional care and genuine affection that Dr. Venghaus and everyone there show for my furry family. Highly recommend.

So good! Fast, reliable, affordable, always affordable; they went above and beyond with a tricky international travel requirement that was super ambiguous due to Pandemic changes. Couldn't recommend higher.

We love Dr Venghaus... he has seen us through all of our pets for all the years we've lived in Austin. When other vets let a serious illness go without proper diagnosis for over a year, it took Dr Venghaus less than a minute to diagnose our big boy. Treatment was excellent. And all the girls that work here are fantastic. We will miss all of them but will come back if necessary. Caring hearts.. thank you all.

My family and I are extremely anxious dog owners- the vets and staff at Highland’s are so wonderful. They are accommodating, kind, and extremely communicative throughout the process. So much is scary about having a sick dog, but I completely trust all of the staff with our senior dog. Even with pandemic restrictions preventing us from going in with our dog, they are excellent at keeping us updated with what the problems are and how we can address them. I am so incredibly grateful for them!

I never have a bad experience here. I swear everyone there knows my dog, which puts me at ease knowing that my dog is loved and well taken care of. Doc is very patient and I don't feel rushed when asking questions.

Just Wow! Been looking for a new vet for a year here in Austin. Highland has been such a delight and with our very neurotic dogs. Highland has done such a fantastic job with our dogs health and checkups, especially during these pandemic times plenty of social distancing precautions and safety for humans/pets

I have been taking my pet to Highlands for 15 years and they are the best. Dr. Venghaus an excellent vet who is knowledgeable, kind and patient. Julie runs a tight ship, therefore, there is no waiting. The staff are friendly, professional and kind. I won't take my pets anywhere else.

Only went to get certification for our cat to be able to fly to Europe. Curbside service fast, courteous. Vet called me with useful information. Payment over the phone while I waited outside. Very efficient operation.

We highly recommend Dr. Venghaus and his staff. They are honest and their prices are fair. Dr. Venhaus is very nice. We take our cat there for her medical needs and for boarding. That picture is not the sleeping arrangement at Highland's, but at our house.

I've taken my golden retrievers to this veterinary location for about 13 years since I moved downtown. I can recommend no one better to look after your canine or feline loved ones. I've never found it difficult to get an appointment, whether during the week or on weekends. I've sometimes had to just show up asking to fit a time in because my golden had had a problem. And they were there when I had to say goodbye to my last golden.

We trust Dr. Venghaus and the excellent staff with our kitties' health without exception.

I have been a client of Highland's Pet Medical since the early 1990s. The staff is extremely thorough and always beyond kind and loving. The Dr.s Childress and Venghaus are two of the most noted Vets in Austin and their love of animals and animal well-being is inspiring. The appointments are always a joy and that is NOT an easy thing with my wild dogs, but everyone there is so thoughtful and nice. I have had minor to extremely serious conditions with my pets and all have been treated with dignity and proficiency. I am in a family of animal-lovers and we ALL are clients of HP Medical and continue to let people; if you love your pet, then you take them to Highland's.
