Found my new vet clinic! After noticing an abnormality in my cat, Milly’s eye AM/PM was able to fit me in the same day on Sunday to check her out. They have pointed me in the right direction when it comes to navigating through specialized vet care in Austin. The staff was so sweet to my little Milly. Dr. Teis (sorry if misspelled) is informative, thorough and extremely helpful. Thank you all ! Highly recommend this clinic.

How much do y’all cost to treat parvo?

I’m happy to have found AM/PM Animal Hospital years ago. There hasn’t been a second thought in my mind to consider visiting other veterinary clinics. While taking my cats to the vet isn’t necessarily a fun trip, I always feel confident bringing them here knowing they’ll be in great hands. I really do appreciate y’all and thank you for keeping Adeline and Switchblade in tiptop shape! Shoutout to Kayla for crushing it up front (always appreciate the next day follow-up call)!

The other reviews talking about how AMPM wants to upsell needlessly are correct. My cat has been sick for a long time, and during our last visit with AMPM our vet told us, "Stop bringing him here. We can't help you anymore, and he needs to see a specialist." We received a specialist referral at the time, but financially were unable to go right away. Referrals only last for 30 days, so when we called back for a re-referral (about 5 months later) and they refused to offer one. We understood this, but were frustrated given the conversations we've had with them before, so we called back to go into more detail and communicate urgency. I was then told they refused to give the referral because they don't know what might have changed in the last 5 months and they're not sure we're dealing with the same illness anymore. This comes after 4 years of documented treatment for the same illness, so this comment was absurd and does not constitute a valid reason to us. If anything, it was just confirmation they're interested in running distressing tests on our already sick cat so they could charge us for it. We no longer live near AMPM and will be seeing another vet for an assessment and referral, but even if we still lived down the street this experience would have turned us off from returning with our other pet.

I had a great experience with AMPM. I was able to get my dog in last minute for an appointment the next day, the staff was amazing and kind when letting me know what was going on with my pug. She walked me through what was needed and explained everything, asking several times if I had any further questions. The price was very reasonable as well. I even got a phone call the next day from someone just checking on how my dog was doing. I also found a stray dog this day and brought him here to be scanned for a microchip. The staff was very helpful and I gave me the microchip number and instructed me what to do next! This will be my go to vet from now on. Thanks for everything!

Showed up at the clinic at 5:45 pm after my dog and myself are bleeding from a pitbull attack and they wouldn’t open the doors. After me pleading at the woman behind the desk she came outside and handed me a piece of paper with another clinic phone number and address, telling me to just go there. I CANNOT BELIVE THIS

Everyone was full up on an sunday Afternoon, I get that as one of the few vet place open on the weekend they are going to get busy. But the weird thing was that they asked questions about the case before going, nope this is too complicated for us want to deal with it. Would not recommend in an emergency.

From Leti to Dr. Thyse, Dr. Boyles and their awesome vet techs, I’ve been super happy with the care they all take. I took my older dog in for an emergency eye issue visit and they were quick with their diagnosis and intervention plan.l for cornea ulcers and potential dry eye. They took their time to answer my questions and concerns. They even call you 24-48hrs after the appointment to see how your dog is doing on the treatment plan. That’s such a nice touch. When they thought they had done all they could for my dog’s eye they referred me to a specialist who let me know my dog’s eye was going to be okay. Due to AM PMs care, my dog and my wallet avoided an expensive eye surgery. I’ve since switched to them as my primary vet and definitely recommend this place to others!

Our 12 year old beagle was just diagnosed with cancer, but we were thrilled to be given roughly a year with her. Well, she suddenly woke up on Sunday unable to move, eat, and was shaking and panting uncontrollably. Of course our vet was closed, the ER we have used in the past was ‘full’, and referred me to AM/PM. I made my kids and husband hug her goodbye because I was sure this was going to be her final ride. I sobbed the whole way there. She was so very sick. When we got there an angel named Liz came out to make sure she was stable enough to wait our turn. I watched her calmly assess our baby and could tell she could see the pain our Ellie was in and she too was worried and quickly picked her up and took her inside. The vet looked her over, decided she was a little more stable than she looked (which was true. She’s a beagle and has big beagle feelings lol) - so we waited our turn but when liz came out with paperwork she let me know that she seemed to look a little better and told me she was keeping a close eye on her and would let the doctor know if anything changed. Anyways, long story short, and hour later the vet calls me, we talk through possibilities of why she could have declined so quickly, we decided to run some basic labs - and the steroids she was put on the week prior sent her liver values through the roof and caused pancreatitis. I was so so very relieved! Two days later, our sweet Ellie is off steroids and doing great and we are so relieved to have some more good days left with her. I am so relieved and I can’t express my gratitude Enough to Liz and Dr Pocernich. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I took my fur baby in on Sunday for an eye infection. The staff was super efficient upon my check in phone call, the follow up phone call prior to exam, doctor call, and then check out call. The sweet tech came out to my car as they are only offering curbside now and was super patient as I coaxed my baby out of the car. They even called me 2 days later to check in on my baby and ask if I had any more questions or concerns. Well done!!!

I have taken my cats to AM/PM for everything from vaccinations to walk-in emergency visits. The staff and vets are always attentive, professional, and friendly, and they provide you with options and clear instructions each visit. I appreciate the ease of scheduling and the follow-up calls after visits.

I’ve taken my pup here quite a few times, and I feel like each time was not a good experience. I felt that everything is ridiculously overpriced and it felt like the veterinarian was trying to upsell us so many things that weren’t necessary. In one instance, it almost sounded like she was guilt tripping us for not getting some unnecessary eye drops for my dog, hinting that we would be bad dog parents if anything happened to him without them. It also felt like they didn’t really care about my dog either. I called them late one evening because he wasn’t feeling well, and they told me they weren’t taking anymore patients today because it was late (understandable) and asked me to tell them what was going on so they could refer me to an ER. I start explaining how he was feeling all day only to be cut off abruptly, told some random ER, and then hung up on. Might I mention we ended up going to a 24 hour emergency vet, and it ended up literally costing significantly less than AMPM….Just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your animals needs. Your wallet and your animal will thank you.

We came in on short notice for a quick check up for our dog because of a lump he had on his back leg and they were very accommodating and patient. Jessica did great with our dog, who is a tad bit older and we loved the overall experience. We will be back for our dogs vaccines!

I had an amazing experience here today! The car-side appointment process was so seamless and they were very through in answering all of my questions. It was easy to get an appointment and everyone was very kind!

I took my dog here a few times out of not knowing that there are other vet clinics that will give you quality pet care without trying to fish money from you. I have never written a google review in my life, so I am unsure of what to put in these, but just know I will never be visiting this vet clinic again. I started taking my animals to a different animal hospital in Austin and will never stray away -- AMAZING care compared to here.

Dr. Parker and her team were so kind and patient with me and my kitty. I was worried about her because her toe looked bloody and I wasn't sure what was wrong with it. The exam was very thorough and the doctor even helped me sort out some other issues that I've been dealing with for kitty. Everyone, from the vet tech to the front desk ladies were very professional and just warm and friendly. Like another reviewer here said, i used to take my pet to Thrive on Oltorf but I'm switching to AM/PM instead. I love the individual care that AM/PM was able to provide. We even got a follow up call this morning to make sure that kitty was doing well. What a gem this place is! They have reasonable appointment times, everyone is so so kind, and they truly care about the well being of your fur baby. Thank you to everyone who helped us yesterday. This is exactly the type of business I am happy to support!

Dr. Parker took care of my first rescue pup Bear from age 2 until his death at age 18. I felt like Bear always had a special place in Dr. Parker’s heart and he trusted her completely. We all shed tears when Bear died in my arms. It was time to let him go and I felt supported in that decision. Three years later I adopted Pippin “Pip Pup” and Dr. Parker is his doctor. I am grateful for this long history with AM/PM and Dr. Parker.

AM/PM vets / staff are absolutely the kindest most understanding folks in Austin. They were able to see my grumpy 7 year old dog, treat his ear infection and update his vaccines within two days of my appointment request. The entire staff were so kind and gently with dog and made sure he had a good non-traumatic experience with them. They followed up vis phone the day after his appointment and have made themselves available in case he needs another visit. I’m so appreciative and I would recommend this vet to anyone of my friends with pets.

I was pleased and relieved AM/PM could work me in on a Sunday when my old dachshund became seriously ill overnight. I normally go to another vet, but their clinic is not opened on the weekends. Dogs get sick on weekends! The tech was very kind and friendly both to my dog and to me. Dr Boyles updated me frequently and was very knowledgeable, caring, and professional; she gave me prices and options up front. Most importantly, my dog recovered quickly because Dr. Boyles diagnosed and treated my dog accurately. As a side note, the cost was reasonable as well.

Brought my kitty here for a follow up appointment after a visit to the emergency hospital. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Communication was good and they provided a few options for follow-up treatment. Full transparency when it came to pricing.

Had a great experience with AMPM. We are new to Austin and didn’t have a vet yet when our dog, Coco, randomly got a red, swollen eye. I called many places and they were booked out for week, but when I got ahold of AMPM they got us in the next day. The appointment went great and they sent Coco home with meds and she’s already doing much better. They were so loving to Coco and honest which I really appreciate!!

My dog was sick, and every other vet/animal hospital refused me service. AM/PM wast fast, professional, and in general delightful to work with. They've earned my business for the foreseeable future!

Brought my 3 year old dog in for his first tooth cleaning. They said prior to the appointment it would be HIGHLY unlikely he would need any teeth pulled. They called during the procedure to tell me they wanted to remove 5 teeth (20%) of his lower jaw. Absurd! They sure do love to upsell at the expense of my dog. Needless to say he still has all his teeth and is going just fine.

I brought my dog here when he was sick over the weekend and I couldn’t get him into the usual ER vet clinic we go to. AM/PM staff were so friendly and caring. Our visit was curbside due to covid protocols but they took my dog inside and everything felt very thorough. The vet we met with (via phone for me) was so nice and gave me a few different treatment options at varying price points. They understood I could follow up with our primary vet on Monday, if needed, and weren’t trying to run a bunch of random tests, etc. My dog was feeling better within 24 hours thanks to AM/PM! Overall, would highly recommend!
