I brought my poodle puppy for her first grooming appointment and i I will not be taking her back. The woman that came out to my car to get her & took pictures of the pictures on my phone (they were of my puppy from about 2 months ago) I told the lady I wanted her exactly like she was but just trimmed. I never said anything about shaving and the photos I provided were nothing close to what was actually done. My puppy came back with a shaved face, a top notch, and looked like she was wearing leg warmers. I am heartbroken because my little girl does not have the puppy look anymore. I reached out to management (not demanding anything at all) and the only thing that was offered is a discount on my next grooming if I wanted to give them another chance. The worst part is that later that night I noticed the top of her muzzle was red and irritated. The last 2 photos are after the groom.

Dorthy, our chihuahua had been seen at another vet and needed a scope right away. They took her immediately and were thoughtful, informative, and concerned

We have used BCV for a long time and absolutely love the staff here! The vets and techs are all amazing, and our animals are always well taken care of and loved on! We will be lifelong customers!

My kitten ingested foam from an exercise mat that caused him to projectile vomit. I took him to his regular vet that said they would monitor him but the veterinarian would be leaving at 12 and would not be back if things went south. I asked that Big Country be contacted to see if they would take him so that he wouldn’t have to be transferred if he continued to decline. Big Country took him right in. He did have an intestinal obstruction that required surgery. I am so glad I had him transferred! Dr. Arche and the staff were fantastic and kept me informed every step of the way. Max is home and doing great! Thank you so much!

The grooming facilities associated with this vet should be shut down. It is not in line with the standard of care they have on the vet side of the business. I have gone to them once a month for over a year for regular grooming appointments and my dog would always come back upset but I thought it was her personality and that she was just nervous. I noticed a mark on her leg once from shaving too close but understand that things like this can easily happen so I pushed my concerns aside. The final straw occurred when I picked up my dog and she was clearly injured on her front left paw. She wouldn't put weight on it in the car and then she didn't walk on it for almost 24 hours. I called to ask what happened and they said nothing. Again, I can understand that nails get cut too short or other things of this nature but my dog was clearly shaken and in pain for so long. They took no responsibility. I arranged for a mobile groomer to come to my house and my dog was not nervous but was acting so relaxed and happy after the grooming appointment. The new groomer informed me that her ears were completely matted with hair deep down and that there was no way the previous groomers did what they should have. If you care about your pets mental and physical health - I do not recommend taking them to this place for grooming. We will also be finding a new vet ASAP.

Disappointed. My fiancés dog was put down by this facility. The Vet that put down my fiancés sweet dog was absolutely honorable and respectable however the cremation process was a disappointment. We paid the money to receive Abbys remains in a box and we received her box with the name spelt Ally. I called and left a message asking that this be corrected and never received a call back….Seems to me that they got their money and didn’t care.

Very Very happy with the grooming and the vet. They took such great care of my fur baby!!!! My dog has very high anxiety and had a very bad experience at another place in town with another groomer. I thought he would never trust another groomer or vet again, but I took him to Big Country Veterinary Clinic and they were so patient and kind to my dog. He looked great when I picked him up and was his happy self.

Other than having to sit in car for them to come to you it was great the way they took care of my dogs dental work. Very affordable also

I have been bringing my pets to Big Country Vet for several years now. I have had many great experiences, but the most recent one was extremely disappointing. My pup passed away a couple of weeks ago under their care. I had taken him in to the ER vet on industrial for mild tummy issues and both vets were aware of his history of seizures. At this point he had been seizure free for almost 8 months. After administering the meds prescribed by the Er vet, my dogs health began to decline, and by the end of the week, he was back in Big Country for seizures. At the end of the day he had passed. I was shocked by all of this considering he had been so healthy for so long. After researching the meds given to my puppy, two specifically had side effects of increased seizures. I decided to go in to the vet and speak with the dr in person and ask some questions about these meds. Dr Eckert was rude and very insensitive. I went there hoping for some clarity and closure, and left feeling defeated and misunderstood/unheard. Losing a pet is extremely difficult, and I think he could have handled that situation in a much more polite manner. Also, I chose to pick up my pets remains, and have him buried. I expected him to be in a box like most vets I’ve heard of doing, and they brought my baby out in a plastic sack. Again I’ll say, I’ve had some very good experiences with this vet in the past, but this one was awful, and has really made me rethink using them for my fur babies in the future.

I took my crazy lab/shepherd mix here for the first time. We usually go to the one on base since we’re military. I was shocked at how quick it was to just get a rabies shot. Cheaper too! Usually it takes forever waiting for the vet to come in the room and exam them. Staff was very friendly. The place was very nice. And the “COVID aware” set-up right now is very convenient being able to stay in the car with two little kids. We will definitely come back with our other dog when it’s time!

I brought my dog in an emergency situation. I was quoted $800 on the phone for her treatment. I get there, and they charged me $900. I was in hysterics and didn't even notice until I got home later. My dog is fine. However when I questioned the staff about the descrepency between what I was quoted and what I was charged, I was told that they would be sure to not make that mistake again in the future with other customers. When I asked to speak to the office manager, she was incredibly rude and actually hung up on me while I was speaking to her. I also took the time to call around to other clinics and found out I could have had the same procedure done elsewhere for nearly half the cost. So do your research before bringing your pet here. They care more about a hefty bottom line than providing the most affordable care they can. And more importantly, the unprofessionalism between the staff misquoting me and the office manager hanging up on me mid sentence is unacceptable.

The most compassionate staff, and great/knowledgeable veterinarians! My animals go here for shots, care, boarding, and pet products. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I felt like my dog and I were very very important to them. They took their time and spent a lot of time answering questions about the health of my dog as well as potential things to look for in the future. I highly recommend this team of Drs.

They were so nice and very fast. My kitten is a jerk, honestly, and they said he was super sweet and they loved him. My dog is a service dog for me so he gets anxious if he leaves me, but he was super comfortable with them and came back happy with his tail wagging and actually whined when we started to leave. Best vet ever by far!

I trust Dr. U, for surgery on my stray pup I rescued in San Antonio...he did surgery on her right knee and it has been great. She has started having issues with the left knee. Doc could have just done surgery but he advised against for now and to watch her movements. Great, honest Animal focused care. We had someone tell us to go to a Vet an hour away for low cost but my mutt deserves the best!!!
