Vet refuses to send my pets prescriptions to Costco. Was very unprofessional about and was very nasty when I asked multiple times. I don't know why they can't send them and I guess I'm not going to keep going to this vet I'd I can't get my prescriptions sent to where I want.

WOW! That is all I can say. I have brought my cat Aries in four times in 2 1/2 months. He has had a lot of skin issues and we were working to resolve his problem. Vet prescribed him some meds which I needed to order off Chewys. Our cats are all listed at the hospital under my NOW husband’s name and that was done because I knew we were getting married. Three times today I had to speak to Chewys and three times today I had to speak with Barfield Animal Hospital. They have not once reached out to me to tell me what they needed. I ordered the medicine from Chewys in my maiden name because I have an account already setup that I have used and ordered from before my wedding which was by the way Oct.1st, 2021. The vets technician finally said to us that he needed to add me to his account at hospital. I don’t know what the problem is but they should have been more proactive and called us from the jump and tell us what we needed to do. Not let Chewys call and go round and round trying to get this resolved. We will never bring another one of our fur babies to you. You have made a very bad taste in my mouth. You let ME spend hundreds of dollars each visit when my husband was nowhere to be found but you won’t let me pay for a non narcotic script for my pet? I can pick up and pay for humans medicine. All you had to do was call and confirm with us if I was indeed Aries owner. Instead you kept denying the request. That is completely unprofessional.

I have been going here for the entire life of my pets. every single time one of them has gotten sick I feel like they nickel and dime me to death. when I wanted to get my dog neutered they quoted me over 1k in extras. I have specifically asked they tell me before running a procedure that I am not made of money and to call me first. I do not feel that they are qualified, they care about the bottom line. I will never return to this vet and I suggest any one else do the same. I didnt even know a vet could quote you up front until I switched. normal procedures here always tend to be hundreds more than other places in town. 0/10 I would literally recommend any other place in Murfreesboro than having to subject your pet to tons of tests or meds or shots they don't need just so they can make money.

Our dog Bailey had acl and mcl tears in her left knee and one tear in her right knee. They repaired both at the same time a week ago. She is walking so much better already. We still have about 7 weeks of recovery. Everyone there was wonderful with her. Great place.

Such an amazing animal hospital. The people are so nice and you can tell they love their animal customers. They have been caring for our two cats for the past 10 years, and we couldn't imagine going anywhere else!

I had recently adopted an intact male Boston terrier who would not leave my spayed female alone. The soonest operation appointment would have had me waiting almost 2 weeks for him to be fixed. I scheduled a catch up on shots and told the vet how hard it’s been to keep them apart. Knowing my desperate need, the awesome vets at Barfield went out of their way to come in the next day on their own time for surgery. I highly recommend Barfield!

Update! Had to bring Cookie in today because she snagged a nail. Dr. Honey was great! Nail was just barely hanging on. He removed it and trimmed her nails, all in a 1/2 hour. Cookie was treated awesome by the staff. Thank you Barfield Animal Hospital. First time going here. Took our new pomeranian here for rabies vac and to treat her ear mites. Felt very welcomed there, wasn't pressured to do this or do that like my previous vet. Will be taking all of our poms here for now on.

I had taken my furbaby to them to actually be euphanize him do to the fact the people I live with told me he had to go due to the fact that he had chased the UPS GUY. They were so compassionate and sympathetic to me. They refused to put him down and I was so relieved because I got this pup he trusts me and I was taking him there to be KILLED. I was full of grief and Guilt. But the doctor took the time to check tank out and gave me a list of solutions.

Barfield Animal Hospital is phenomenal. Every staff member is friendly and kind. They also were able to get me a last minute appointment on a Saturday because my little dog had an emergency. Cannot recommend them enough. The doctors always speak to you like they have all the time in the world to help you answer any questions.

I have a special-needs pet in addition to healthy animals. The vets and staff have gone above and beyond to work with me on identifying what the heck is going on. Dr. Katy Bailey emails me & has been really accessible. This is a big deal when you have a pet with complex health issues. The other two vets are great as well. I have seen them all. Also less than TWO MINUTES from my house!

I’m not a big “leave a review” guy, but I feel some may benefit from this.. First to give credit where credit is due, the female vet is very kind, and caring with your pet, and good at explaining things (unlike the front desk who was kind, but misleading). Outside of a kind initial staff, this place is a straight up, rip off.. I am basing this off of 3 things... 1. We called around for a quote on an ACL surgery, wanting to know the price of everything (roughly). Pretty much all of these vets use the same two surgeons to do their surgeries. This is fine, but the price here, and only here was literally $500+ more dollars than all of the other places. We ended up using the animal clinic on River rock which is a 24 hour hospital, and they included the night stay, all the other visits, and Madison all for around 2900. Barfield wanted 3500$... we called two other places in town and they were both right around 3000. Pretty wild they would add that much on top of every other vet who was also still making money to basically host the surgery.. 2. When we realized that our dog May had torn her ACL, we called around to find the best deal on getting x-rays. We skipped two places that would have been cheaper because Barfield was misleading with their costs. We were told $190 total. When we get there to get her, they told us that they didn’t have to sedate her, insinuating they were expecting to and then proceeded to tell me It was around $250 to get her back!.. This means if they would have sedated her it would’ve been way more than that. The other places we called mentioned that we would have to pay for x-rays and a separate visit fee and that’s why it was higher than 190. Barfield Made it sound like the visit fee was included when in fact it was not. I was very clear about needing the exact total before hand. If I would’ve budgeted to only have the 190, I wouldn’t have been able to leave with my dog that day.. in my line of work if my client gets the wrong idea on price Due to a lack of clarity or confusion, I match the insinuated price to keep my customer happy and from feeling mislead. 3. Finally today, after having them try more than once to figure out my dogs painful problem with her lady parts, we sent them a picture of how it looks now (since we can’t drive her.. still healing from healing up the ACL surgery) They made a prescription for a yeast infection ointment, and a pill. I get there and it’s over $60. I looked up the same medication and from all the other pharmacies in town, it would’ve costed me a little under $30! I understand a little bit of markup, but they charge more than double it’s just another example of this place is greed. I don’t blame the vet, but whoever is on top is counting on people not researching. Anyway, that is all. If you read this far congratulations LOL. Just remember that you can get your prescription and fill it at Walmart or somewhere, and that you don’t have to have surgery done at the place that diagnosis something. Many do not know that

Awesome people awesome care. Once I thought my dog was in an emergency situation, they brought me back immediately and did a thorough exam. It wasn’t an emergency, he was having another seizure but presented differently than usual. Dr. Honey told me not to worry about it, that we were family and they were going to take care of us. When we finally had to say goodbye to our sweet boy they were so kind, and wonderful. They did it at the very end of the day and never made us feel rushed to leave. We were told by Dr. Barker multiple times to take our time saying goodbye. Every single vet was there that day to say goodbye to our boy. We truly felt like family.

Not sure of his name, but it is the guy other than Dr. Honey. After stating I would like a second opinion and notification I would be picking our pet up after a rude phone exchange things became even more off-putting. I arrived to settle the bill and find another vet when I was offered a room where Mr. "It's not about the money, I have 3 stores and 56 people under me. I can't please everybody" offered to explain his findings. Originally going to leave after pick-up, I decided to hear him out. We enter the room, "I just need an explanation" I lead with and received a, "I'm going to give you all the explanations in the world" with the same snark as the phone conversation. So glad I recorded the conversation. The conversation where I am told I made this gentleman feel indignant for wanting a second opinion. So glad he also mentioned to his staff that I was a troublesome client that can't be pleased. If you are active in your pet's care and are willing to ask questions, dare even get a second opinion when something feels off... If you want a vet that will address your discomfort and problem solve your case/work with you rather than raise their voice, "I am being as nice to you as I can" at you and see you out the door, find better care for your loved ones. We went to two other offices before finding someone that handled the diag right then and there instead of repeated "wait and see" techniques. This location was a great place to us for years, but apparently I've only ever had one consult with this gentleman before and definitely will never again. The rest of the staff seems caring and willing to have a conversation about your case. Not this guy with 3 locations and 56 people where money isn't the issue. So sorry for the long review and delay (originally happened about a month ago, but wanted to get care handled first and second opinions on this "professional" behavior). [old 5 star review]Daniel and Dr. Honey were great! So worried the digit might have broke, but thankfully it was just a nail trim. Great service and care. Daniel kept Nintendo calm while doc went to town on the nails. Great place to take the little ones you love.

Only place I trust to take our GoldenDoodle. Everyone is nice and love pets with a passion. Also, they are partnered with a pet groomer that does a great job. Ask about her if you go.

This vet clinic is probably one of the most caring I have ever been to. The staff are always kind and Dr. Honey has been wonderful every time we've brought any of our fur babies in. My chiweenie has been diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy for years. He is the first vet that has given us an emergency kit for at home when he has cluster seizures. We haven't had to use it yet but it is extremely thoughtful and we are very grateful.
