Hello It's Me

I am happy with the care that my two companions have received over the past several years. Friendly staff and knowledgeable vets and techs treat both the animals and the owners with respect. The location is conveniently located and I can always reach someone by phone during their posted hours. Pricing for care, grooming and even boarding is reasonable. I love the new sign! The sunsets from the parking lot are an amazing bonus if you have a late visit.

I was highly dissatisfied at the way the vet handled my furbaby..he cleaned out a severely infected ear with no pain med or anything to help him. He screamed and screamed to me this was not the humane thing to do. I .realize ear infections are painful but I feel he did my dog unjust and I will not allow this to happen again!

I love taking my dog, Mila, to Caldwell Animal Hospital. I love that I can request an appointment online and they will call or email me with a confirmed appointment for a time that’s convenient for me. It is super easy! They are always super sweet to my dog and give her so much love when she’s there. Anytime I need to add anything to my appointment, like grooming/nail trimming, they are very awesome about getting it done with no hesitation. Love this vet and I can tell they love my dog!

I would have left a 4 or 5 star review but when I brought my dog in for an unspecified service he had an allergic reaction and I had to bring him back to the office for those allergies and was charged over $200 in visit and medicines. I am confident that the staff is NOT cleaning the exam rooms after each visit. When I went there I noticed a lot of dog hair already on the floor of the exam room. I like the location convenience but I’m unhappy about the cleanliness factor and I would hate to be the guy trying to project the amount of money customers spend on return visits due to new conditions based on previous visits

Very expensive and condescending. my vet who's last name is I think it is Cerda. She was very rude and talked down to me prescribed me an anti-anxiety medication that was $58 a month and only got one month worth they didn't even have it at the pharmacy had to order it and wait a week which I can't wait a week and I'm certainly not going to pay $58 for anti-anxiety meds that no one has ever heard of. Also try to give me a pheromone diffuser for 50 something dollars as well and it is only $19 on chewy that's a really huge price Gap. Not sure why she was talking down to me so much my dog was in a very healthy condition maybe it's because I had tattoos or she thought of me as a lower class person whatever I'm not going to go back there and if you have any tattoos maybe you should cover them up before you go in so she doesn't talk down to you too that's the only thing I can think of but I smiled and left feeling horrible

My cats Leroy and Otis receive great care at Caldwell Animal Hospital. The doctors and staff are always courteous and friendly. They genuinely care about my pets. The doctors take time to answer any questions I have. I recently had a question about a medication Leroy is taking. I called the office and got an answer during that call. Thank you Caldwell Animal Hospital.

Caldwell Animal Hospital is such a reliable, friendly and professional place. This year I said goodbye to my 16 year old Sadie with the help of tech Meredith and Dr. Iris Sulik. What a tender, loving way to do the best thing for Sadie. I still miss her. Now, my dogs Moxie and Gertie still get all their care at Caldwell, and during a recent surgery, I boarded them there. While there, they received needed care thanks to the sharp eye of tech Meredith and an examination for Gertie from Dr. Rivero. I admit I am prejudiced, but I highly recommend the competent staff at Caldwell. Always a pleasure to interact with these friendly folks. My dogs stay healthy and lovingly cared for!

I have been taking my 2 dogs ( King Charles) to Caldwell Animal Hospital for a year now. We moved from Los Angeles to Hudson in June 2020 , I decided to sign my dogs up at Caldwell Animal Hospital as it seemed they were handling the difficult Covid 19 situation better than many. The whole staff are extremely serviceable, I have mainly seen Dr. Rebecca Whisnant who is so caring and will take the time to communicate and listen, she has made some good decisions that have made both my pets life more comfortable of which I am very grateful. Charlie helps out a lot in assisting the vets and has a very keen love of dogs and cats. Crystal, runs the front office to a Tee!. All the staff at Caldwell Animal Hospital are there because they care about your pet and work to make your pet feel happy and healthy. PB June 14th 2021.

Dr. de la Cerda is the absolute best! She goes above and beyond to care for my fur babies. Kalvin, one of our family cats, unfortunately was given a heartbreaking diagnosis. Dr. D has done everything to help and ease Kalvin’s discomfort as well as showing such compassion towards our family. She has done a wonderful job in giving us the answers to all of our questions. If you want a veterinarian that treats your pet like their own, then Dr. de la Cerda is a perfect choice.

While away from our regular vet in Burlington, I needed veterinary attention for my beagle, Charlie. I was so impressed with everyone at Caldwell Animal Hospital, especially Dr. Constance Hatchard and veterinary assistant Meredith. They were great with Charlie and explained the diagnosis and accompanying treatment plan well. It was a relief to find such a good veterinary practice away from home. Highly recommend!

My dad took his dog who was five months old last Tuesday May 26 2021 to get fixed. She died yesterday!! She was perfectly fine before this surgery. He reached out them to tell them something wasn’t right. No help at all. He then on May 29 with her because she was still not eating nor drinking. They told him there wasn’t a doctor in to take her to emergency vet. Um no because they are the ones who caused this. They could have done something.

Three dogs, two cats and a grumpy old man! And we are all welcomed each time we come! Having been away for some time thanks to the “Old Crony” virus, we returned and in short order, all of our creatures are up to date on shots, tests and meds. The staff, from the front desk to the vets are all pleasant, professional and extremely accommodating to an old man who loves his pups and kitties! I would recommend Caldwell Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a veterinary clinic, whether new to the area or looking to make a change. I think you, and your babies will be happy at Caldwell!

I recently took my cat "Tabitha" to Caldwell Animal Hospital for a check-up/exam and vaccinations. "Tabitha" and I had a very positive experience. The staff, technicians, and veterinarian were all kind, friendly, professional, personable, helpful, informative, and patient. This recent visit isn't the first time I took a pet to Caldwell Animal Hospital. I have been taking my cats to Caldwell Animal Hospital since 2003. During this time, I have had 3 cats to receive medical care from this hospital, and I have always had a positive experience. During the happy times with healthy cats to the sad times with sick and ill cats that passed away, the staff, technicians, and veterinarians have always treated my cats and me with compassion, kindness, dignity, respect, patience, and understanding. Every time I have gone to Caldwell Animal Hospital, I feel as though they treat me like their own family member and they treat my cats as though they were their own pets. I have developed a special professional and personal relationship with everyone at Caldwell Animal Hospital, and I feel very blessed to have all of them in my and my cats lives these past 18 years!

Prior to the previous couple of weeks, I've had very few problems with this vet practice. They have extended hours and always seem able to see one of our pets at a moment's notice. But after the gross incompetence and negligence shown recently, we won't be going back, and I strongly encourage everyone, if you love your pet, to take it somewhere else. Two weeks ago our golden retriver began refusing food and vomiting whenever he tried to take food or water. We took him in. The first vet who saw him did an x-ray, didn't see anything, and pronounced that the dog had whipworms. Now, we have 7 dogs, a cat, chickens, and a pony on our property as well as three industrious children who can neither keep their hands to themselves or out of their own--or each other's--faces. No one else showed any symptoms. So, for a week, we gave fluids intradermally, forced medicine down his throat, syringe fed chicken broth, only to have everything thrown back up. We watched our dog go from a healthy 75 pounds to 53 pounds. We made a second trip to the vet and saw a different veterinarian who did a second XRay and pronounced, again, that the problem had to be worms, "but maybe there's something else if this new, improved, super-strength and high-dollar worm medicine doesn't work." (Can you smell the sarcasm?) Three days later, we took our poor dog in to have him put to sleep. Nothing was working, and it broke our hearts to see him suffer and slowly starve. After my dog had passed, a THIRD veterinarian pointed to the images from the first two visits and said, "Look, there's a foreign body in his bowel, visible on both sets of films. It's clearly there. Would you like us to do an laproscopic surgery to remove it? It'll only cost $2,000.00." He then poked and prodded the dead dog and said he could feel the foreign body in his abdomen. Three visits to find something which was visible on the first visit. Three visits while my poor dog starved and his bowel necrosed. Three visits only to have a surgery offered which would have saved the dog's life if it was mentioned on the first visit. Three visits to have a veterinarian FINALLY put his hands on the dog and do a damned exam, except he waited until after the dog was already down. Three visits while my wife and I, both Nurse Practitioners, questioned the diagnosis and made mention several times that the symptoms were more in line with a bowel obstruction than a parasitic infection. How hard would it have been for the first (or even the second) vet to request a radiologist overread on the images, if only to satisfactorily address our concerns? Save your animals. Use a different vet. Edit in response to the reply by owner of the clinic: please see the second review in response to the clinic's reply. Thank you.

Great staff! Very friendly. Dr Rivero is awesome! He takes such good care of his patients, including my Gigi! He treats us very well and that is why we take a 3 hour drive, from north Raleigh to Lenoir. For anyone looking for a vet, this is most definitely the place to go to! You won't regret it!

Me and my baby Karizma were seen today, they got us in, which itself was a blessing, had to deal with a very Grumpy kitty who did not like the shot or anything outside of petting, & they were so sweet and gentle with her regardless! Also, being a full time student, living on my own, and in the process of switching jobs they was able to help guide me through the best and most affordable routes for her care. Thanks so much! 5+ stars!

My dog Trip just LOVES everyone at Caldwell Animal Hospital. They take care of his health needs, grooming and boarding. The staff always recognizes Trip and calls him by name, and I'm confident that my boy is in the best of hands when he visits them.
