Barkside Lodge Lenoir City, Tennessee

I had a wonderful experience here. I booked an appointment for a private swim for my senior dog who was recently diagnosed with canine degenerative myelopathy. About an hour before the appointment, I realized that I had a conflict, and they were very understanding and allowed me to push my dogs swim time back a few hours. Once we got there, they gave us towels and a heated, professional dryer to use on my dog after he swam which was very helpful. Unfortunately, my dog wasn’t able to swim how he used to and had to get out after just a quick lap, but the staff members were incredibly kind and refused to let me pay for the appointment since he hardly swam. Things have been pretty hard since getting the CDM diagnosis from the vet, but the kindness the staff demonstrated made my day. We will definitely be back for grooming or daycare!

This was my first time here. My elderly girls, Dolly (13) and Annie (12), were very comfortable in their accommodations, which were roomy and comfortable. They were exercised four times a day ( which is WAY more than the get from me!) and seemed to love all the wonderful dog lovers (obviously) who took care of them. I'm already about to book another stay.

I had heard wonderful things and I really wanted to like Barkside, but my experience there was so horrible that I can’t recommend that anyone take their dog here. I took my 4 month old puppy for her evaluation last week. We were hoping to use Barkside to help her socialize. I took food and treats, and, when I dropped her off, I was informed that they don’t really feed the dogs in small dog camp during the day. Daisy spent the entire day there (9am -5:30pm). When I picked her up, I was told that she had been injured during “rough play”. The staff had no details. No one had called to tell me she was injured. When I spoke to the manager, she apologized and informed me that she had told her staff to call her with Daisy’s condition and not me! When I got her home, Daisy would not put any weight on her back leg. A vet visit Saturday showed a small chip fracture in her knee. I understand that things happen. However, not calling me Friday morning when the incident occurred so that I could ensure Daisy got proper rest and vet care was just negligent. Allowing Daisy to continue to play on her injured leg for 5+ hours…thus injuring it further is reprehensible. I cannot recommend this facility to anyone.

My two border collies come home tired. That's almost impossible for these high energy dogs. Everyone is super nice and it's nice to have this facility in Lenoir City.

It was awful today we tried to get my dog pepper in and the woman at the front said Do you have your shot records so we gave em them her shots last year were from louden county animal shelter and some from tractor supply vet and she says I’m sorry we don’t accept those shots and we’re like what the HECK we are going to Townsend for a 9 day vacation and we don’t have a place for her now my dads friend that forgets to feed her is gonna have to take care of her cuz of YALL

Super nice staff, took great care care of our dog when we went on vacation. The groomer did an excellent job trimming him up.

They are very caring & seem to know all the people/dog when you walk in. My dog LOVES it there!

We use the indoor pool for therapy through the winter. Great people and great pool.

We've been boarding our dogs here for many years. The staff is so friendly, and they've always taken great care of my dogs.

Went to this pool with high expectations. The first thing I noticed is that the girl at the desk was quite unhelpful. I wasn’t told if there was a changing room (I wanted to swim with my dog) so I had to change in the pool area. The second thing I noticed is that the pool area, not the water, was 57*. The water was colder. When confronting the employee about this she immediately started treating me like I was a jerk and saying they had a new HVAC that worked great to warm the room up. Trying to dry my dog off I was shivering and still am. Highly disappointed in this business.

Barkside is great! The facility is always clean and the employees are always helpful. They require all boarders be current on vaccinations. My daughter drove 2 hours to board her dog there during vacation! Thank you for providing a safe retreat for our dogs !

Such a great place. My timid little dog enjoys getting groomed here. Great and caring people.

Very clean, and very friendly

We've boarded at multiple other places without an issue for years. This place happened to be conveniently located for us this time. Upon intake we very clearly specified the caveats about one of our dogs and what can be done to easily prevent and or avoid them. This fact was apparently not communicated among other employees nor noted on a file as upon retrieving our pets, a caretaker was extremely rude in telling us what we had already told them. I imagine this is due to not being informed by the intake employee of these exact issues and easy precautions to take to avoid them. This could have resulted in an extremely horrible situation. We were also told that they would rather not board a dog like ours in the future due to the extra effort it would require. Interpret that how you will. No other boarding facility has ever said that or had an issue like Barkside Lodge did. I'm sorry, but this is a boarding facility and not every dog is perfect or going to be perfect. Its a new place for dogs and can be extremely stressful. Unfortunately they are not competent enough to realize this and handle it accordingly to prevent catastrophic situations from happening. Needless to say, very, very unsatisfied with the service provided and the employees.

Grover and Scout love the Barkside lodge! We have used Barkside for boarding, grooming, and day camp. Amanda (the groomer) does an amazing job on our doodles’ coats and is reasonably priced. The pups are always excited to go “camping”. Also, the staff is very friendly and seem quite knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Barkside Lodge for your furry family members!

My fur babies are high maintenance at home. At first I didn't think mine could socialize they asked if they could try it. I agreed and what a difference it has made in my dogs. They are so much happier when they come home. Worn out from so much play. The staff is very loving to all the doggies. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LOVES THEIR DOGS.

My dogs are so happy to go there and happy when they come out. The staff is incredibly sweet and knows every dog. They keep a clean facility and have multiple choices for boarding. It's awesome that you can take half a day or a whole day for their daycare. Most places you pay a set price for the whole day no matter what. I take two dogs there for half a day and it's only $16. Please tip, they are totally worth it. I haven't used the swim area yet but they'll let you try it once for free with your dog to see if your dog likes it. I absolutely recommend them.

Our pup Arya loves going to Daycare and she had a great time when we boarded her! I can also book her for grooming services while she is already there for the day which is very convenient.
