All staff here have been so wonderful with my cat, Nala. Nala can be very anxious/stressed really easily. She actually came out of her crate to greet them which was the first time she has ever done that in a veterinary office. The staff is always so friendly and helpful with every phone call and every visit. They are patient and kind with every word of advice for your animal or answering any questions. They take their time to be as thorough as possible. We adore this place! ????

Our first impression with Hardin Valley Animal Hospital is outstanding to say the least. We recently transferred our dogs there after being with another provider for years, but were not happy with their facility or service. Hardin Valley is like a 5 star spa for pets...no kidding! First, making an appointment is easy, and availability is relatively quick. The facility is so clean and new, it's more like a really nice home. The staff are all so friendly and professional. We were greeted with a welcome sign in the lobby, welcoming us as new customers. There was no waiting, we went right into one of the spacious and clean exam rooms. There is even soft music playing to create the serene environment. Our Doctor and assistant were two of the nicest people. They were both caring and friendly with our dog and won him over right away. The best part was that they took time to go over every aspect of our dogs health very clearly and patiently. They made it as though ours was the only dog they were focused on and would do anything to put us at ease. Their knowledge, talent and professionalism is the best you will find anywhere. They followed up to check on us with a phone call, and we received a welcome card in the mail...signed by the entire staff! These may be simple acts of service that are not found commonly in business anymore...but the folks at Hardin Valley are a refreshing place to ensure our pets health and our 100% satisfaction!

Love their whole staff and veterinarians! We normally have Dr. Sherman. She helped us through a loss of our own dog from cancer, and when we were ready for a puppy, she has taken amazing care of him. Highly recommend! They really care for your fur-babies.

We needed to get in ASAP and had never been there before. They worked us in within an hour and a half. Took their time with our granddog and explained EVERYTHING to us. Could not have asked for better care.

It’s always a great experience bringing our pets to Hardin Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Leah was so thorough and took plenty of time to answer my questions about Gabby. The staff is amazing and their follow-up is wonderful. We have seen three different doctors since we started bringing our guys there and each one has been great! So thankful to have found them! They have taken great care of my 15 year old dachshund since we started going here 2 years ago. Especially during COVID times. Never have to wait for too long during an appointment and the staff are amazing.

We have been using HVAH since they opened and it is the most incredible place with the most incredible people. They have taken care of 3 dogs and 2 cats in our family over the years with multiple issues. The compassionate care is at the top of our list, but the expertise, knowledge, research and never give up until we find the answer approach to each and every issue is unsurpassed. They have answered countless phone calls with patience, kindness and professionalism and made time for our fur babies when they need care. Dr. Smallwood is amazing and has ALWAYS been there for us (exceeding expectations) for more than 14 years. If you want the best, there is simply no other choice.

Been taking my dogs here for almost a year. I had no issues with them until my husband brought them in for vaccines for boarding. They did tests that were not needed. When I called asking why they were doing these tests when the dogs' exams were fine with no abnormal findings, (and they had already had these same tests earlier in the year...) all I got was "sorry about that". I received no explanation, no offer to speak to anyone else regarding the matter. I doubt we will return, and I likely will be getting my prevention elsewhere. I would advise not going here unless you want to be ripped off. This was clearly an opportunity to price gouge. He walked out paying $400 when the appointment was just for vaccines!

I recently took my 17 yo cat to HVAH. We had just moved to Knoxville from Florida and I needed to get a refill on his thyroid medication. I was instantly impressed with this animal clinic. The place was clean, friendly, professional, and amazingly kind and gentle with my precious pet. Every staff member was attentive and kind and they all showed a genuine interest in my baby. The vet took her time with us, thoroughly examining him and providing education on his health. The vet tech is new and she was AMAZING! She gently helped keep my cat calm and showed authentic caring for his well being. I highly recommend this place for your loved ones!! They are a fear free facility and I was immediately struck by the measures they took to help my cat feel relaxed...from dimmed lights to soft music. My cat has always crouched next to me on the exam table when we go to the vet but this time, within 5 minutes he jumped down and started exploring the room. I am so happy with the services we received. I think I've found my permanent vet for my baby. Thank you HVAH for the kindness and quality care you showed to us. Excellent place and staff!

Twice now I’ve been here and both times were superb. The visit doesn’t feel rushed and the vet answered all my questions.

We moved to Knoxville a year ago so we needed to find a vet for our 2 year old golden doodle. This is the best vet office we have ever been to. Where we lived before we did not have great experiences and Ollie was traumatized. Ollie actually looks forward to going which tells me he is treated lovingly when I am not watching. Most of our visits were done with me in the car during Covid restrictions over the last year. Now that we can come in I have to say Dr. Sherman is amazing. She is caring and goes above and beyond to offer the best possible care for our boy. The front desk staff are also always patient and accommodating.

We started using Hardin Valley vet in February 2021. We used their home care service first and also take our pets to their facility. With three dogs and two cats, we use their services often, especially with our senior dog who had cancer multiple times (his cancers were treated by an oncologist at a specialty vet.) Sadly, our sweet Polo left this life last week. And the staff at Hardin Valley were so kind and helpful as we held our farewell to him. The veterinary staff at Hardin Valley are superb doctors and the vet techs are knowledgeable and kind. Their “no fear” practices help our animals and us, knowing that the level of care is of the highest quality. We are able to make appointments and get medication refills as needed thanks to helpful office staff. Additionally, they follow-up appointments with phone calls to ensure our furry family are doing well. Moving to this area from Northern Virginia, where we had superb veterinary care, I never expected to find the same level of service and excellence, but I’m extremely happy to state that Hardin Valley provides the same level of care.

I was originally drawn to this vet because they are fear free certified, and I’m so glad I ended up choosing them! I have nothing to complain or comment on. My experience was seamless and they were so gentle and considerate of my kitten and how he was acting! 10/10!

Great for cat care. Largely protected from stress of dogs barking, etc. Dedicated feline exam room. Update: Had a very good experience with dental surgery for my cat Minnie 10/12/21. Staff was kind and attentive. I was very impressed with Dr. Cuthbert. Excellent communication all round. I was worried, but they assured me that they would take good care of Minnie. I'm confident they did.

I’ve always had great service from this vet office. Everyone is friendly, and they take wonderful care of my dog. Also, very easy to get appointments scheduled.

Not only my most recent, but all my experiences at Hardin Valley Animal Hospital have been pleasurable. The staff is friendly, helpful, and most importantly, patient, with both my animal and myself. They're especially attentive to my concerns and observations about my animal. My queries about procedures performed and the significance of the findings to my animal's health and well-being are fully answered in whatever level of detail I feel necessary for me to understand. On-going care of my animal is a collaborative effort between myself and my Veterinarian, which is important to me. Animals I have had cared for at HVAH have always seemed to enjoy the staff's efforts on their behalf - they don't seem apprehensive about return visits or extended stays.

On 08/23/2021 i carried my hound into the hospital he was in pain and walking was difficult. The staff was Courteous and concerned after checking with Dr. Martin she determined they were in fact too busy tell even look at my dog. It was late in the day when I and my dog arrived however this is a hospital not a clinic in my mind a hospital keeps the hours necessary to protect the health of there patients. They referred me to an emergency clinic at 10,213 Kingston Pike, after arriving there the staff was professional I’m very concerned however the clinician which came out to preview my dog left me with zero confidence in this establishment. After waiting for a few minutes I picked up my dog and took him to the University of Tennessee animal Hospital which is open 24 seven. After spending seven hours and well over $600 to have my dog looked at it was not a pleasant experience . My complaint with Hardin Valley animal Hospital is that it is no hospital, it is a clinic they should change their name to clinic as that is how they run their business. It was interesting that one of her customers brought there dog up UT after DR Martin apparently sent them there, They recognized my voice and mentioned that they knew I had been there wonder why they weren’t sent to 10213 Kingston pike . I'm a 63 old male whom was sent out in tears on a wild goose chase only to have my beloved pup lick me on the face as to say thanks pop for taking me in the jeep again. it doesn't matter that my pup is a rare breed and of great value it matters that Dr martin didn't even look us in the eye and suggest the options! you need a Hospital for your pup go to UT need a clinic well you decide , this review is factual and absolutely true.

I have rescued two pit-bulls for the local shelter, and have taken them both to be seen at the Hardin Valley Animal Hospital. Whenever I have been, I feel like I'm part of the family - they are so welcoming and warm. Both of my pups have been treated well and I've never worried for their safety, knowing full-well they are in the best hands. When one pooch had an emergency, I called and was able to have him seen within an hour. I whole-heartedly trust the crew at Hardin Valley Animal Hospital and would absolutely recommend them to everyone with a pet!
