My family & I had taken our beloved Cocker Spaniel, Queen, here for 10+ years. A couple months ago when we showed up because we wanted them to check out & remove a tumor, they turned us away because they said it had been too long, we were considered new customers, & they were no longer taking new customers. Ended up taking Queen to a more reliable & professional vet in Crossville. Turns out, my sweet little fur baby had breast cancer & it could’ve been prevented had this vet that we had went to for over 10 years educated us on getting Queen spade for her health & not only so she wouldn’t have babies, which we were never informed! It would’ve been nice if they had educated us & let us know considering they had taken care of her for so long before turning us away! She unfortunately passed away due to cancer September 4th. Just really disgusted that the vet that saw her in her final months told us that this vet we went to prior, should’ve known to inform us that spaying is health related and not just to prevent babies…. Which would’ve increased her chances to not get mammary cancer by 85-90%.

The moment you walk through the doors everyone greets you with smiling faces and happy personalities. One of the lovely items placed at the front desk is a candle. If the candle is lite, it’s a reminder that a guest is saying goodbye to their fur baby and to please be respectful and quite. Very touching. We boarded our dogs for 2 weeks. We were worried about them. When we picked them up... they were happy.. they smelled good and seemed well taken care of. Even their blankets were washed. So happy with PAH!!! Thank you so much

Everyone from the front desk to the assistants to the vets are great people who put the animals first. My dog is not a people person, but he always loved seeing the staff. Because of their perception I believe they either saved my dog's life or, at minimum, saved him from getting much sicker than he was when they found an abscess that I had not yet seen. Everyone was efficient. The vets were always ready to answer any questions and explain exactly what was happening. I will miss them now that I've moved out of state.

Last time we were there it was a good place to go for the dogs anyway

Our 14 yr old Lab injured herself chasing a cat. Paralyzed her rear legs! Took her to the emergency vet on a Sunday. She was given pain killers med and anti-inflammatory meds. No x ray no blood work. She was going down hill fast. Called the vet back and was told to put her down! No other vet in Cumberland County would see her for a second opinion! Our daughter found Blue Grass in Sparta! What a special treasure. They made a special appointment for us. They x rayed her and did blood work. Treated our girl like royalty! She is walking again on her own, getting stronger everyday! The best Vet we have ever been too! We highly recommend them! Our Lab is still with us and we thought she would be no more! It was heart wrencing experience and then Blue Grass Vet!! Thank you Blue Grass Vet!! Love you and your staff!!

More about money ... Less about caring! I called to ask a general question about changing food and they would not give me an answer because my dogs hadn't been there recently!

How do you forever lose a customer of 30 years? You turn him away at the door while his dog is actively bleeding. My family has been bringing our animals to P.A.H. for 30 years. Today my father's dog was bleeding profusely from the nose, so he brought her to the place we have trusted. He came in the door saying "I have an emergency" only to be told that it had been too long since his last visit, that he is now a new customer, and they are not taking new customers. Where was the "Compassion" when you turned away a dog in an emergency condition? Where was the "Honesty" and "Dedication" when you turned away a man who has used your business for three decades? Where was the "caring" and "friendly" staff? Is this what you consider "Excellence"? You say your "mission is to keep your pet safe and healthy"; you have failed.

Knowledge! Explains any/all treatments and options for your pet. After moving to the area in October 2020 we needed to establish with a Veterinary Doctor. Referrals let us to PAU and Dr Lisa. Awesome facility and staff. We are Dog people for our pets; we would recommend PAU to anyone looking for Professional/Compassionate Veterinary services in the Crossville TN area. Dr. Lisa and the entire staff take great, loving care of our border collie, Maggie. We drive 40 minutes to take advantage of the great care and facilities at Plateau Animal Hospital. When we need to board Maggie PAH is the only choice in our opinion. Maggie just loves to see all her friends at PAH!

We have 2 fur babies, Ruckus and Izzy! They are always treated with love and care. Dr Lisa and the staff are very thorough with every aspect of our visit! I Love Plateau Animal Hospital.

Lisa has been our vet since she came to crossville. She is like family to us in that we shared pet sitting with our two dogs who were pups that needed to be social and continue to swap sitting with all our dogs. My dogs love having a visit with Lisa and joyfully run to the car when told that is where we are going. What I like about Lisa is her love for the animal first, humans just have to be there :). She is the absolute best!!!!!

I called in trying to see if I could get vaccinations for my two cats who had never been seen there before and the super unfriendly receptionist responds “Uhm are you ever been here before” which I respond no I’m trying to see if I can make a appointment for new patients and she responds “Uh were not accepting new patients” and I’m like uh okay thanks. She was so unwelcoming and rude it was unbelievable.

I love this veterinarian clinic! Dr. Lisa and her staff have been exceptional in caring for my dog and cat. They truly care about your pet and go above and beyond when providing all variety of service. I’m most impressed by the care they’ve been providing for my dog. She recently got really sick late on a weekend so we had to call the emergency line. They weren’t the least apprehensive about coming into the clinic at around 10pm to check her out. They ran all the necessary tests and determined she had pancreatitis. They kept her there in the clinic for a few days and were great about providing us updates and a plan for keeping our dog healthy in the future. I’m so happy that we found an excellent clinic that cares about the animals they treat.
