Dr. Laurel and staff have been most kind to my dogs over the years. She is a holistic veterinarian who has a very unique approach to medicine and treatment for our pups. We will miss seeing her, as we are moving out of state. I highly recommend to anyone who wants an alternative or to supplement conventional veterinary services. Her website details her services and modalities of treatment.

We bring our dog and cat to Dr. Laurel, and they love & trust her and her staff. We are thrilled to have a holistic doctor available for our fur family, who honors our beliefs on how to best care for our loved ones. The 45 minute drive from our house to get there is worth it! Dr. Laurel and her helpers make a point to be available and honest with all answers to our questions. With the various different ideas in our society about animal health, we feel Dr. Laurel offers a service that is integrative and most comfortable for us and our fur family.

Dr. Laurel Davis and her staff are extremely welcoming. They give you their full and undivided attention during your visit. Dr. Laurel provides a unique and intuitive approach to care for your pet. She was able to help my cat recover from a condition where other more traditional treatments had failed. I now trust all of my pets' care to her.

Dr. Laurel Davis is a gifted veterinarian, animal communicator and intuitive healer. She is extremely knowledgeable about herbs and alternative therapies, as well as traditional protocols. Our dog, Arjuna, will be 15 next week, thanks to Dr. Laurel. When she was four, Arjuna developed canine lupus. I sent an article by Dr. Mercola on using Low Dose Naltrexone and ALA for auto-immune diseases in humans to Dr. Laurel who developed a protocol for Arjuna, using LDN and ALA. After many years of taking this, Arjuna no longer needs the protocol. Her nose is 99% clear of lupus! Two years ago, Arjuna stopped eating; she would just eat grass and throw it up. We were convinced she was dying and even had her grave dug on our property. Dr. Laurel figured out what was going on and Arjuna bounced back. Dr. Laurel is awesome!

Dr. Laurel and her team are wonderful! Compassionate, responsive, and the BEST in town at integrating western and holistic animal care. I have total confidence that the care my pets are getting is both SAFE and CUSTOMIZED to them. Dr. Laurel offers the most powerful diagnostic tools and resources, and she continuously learns to stay on the cutting edge.

After waiting two weeks for an appointment for my cat they claimed that I got the day wrong, but when opening up my email and showing that I was in fact correct on the time and date they told me that there was a clerical error and that they could not see my animal. They were not at all helpful or accommodating for the mistakes that they made, I am very disappointed.

Dr. Laurel cares deeply for her fur patients and does everything in her power to make sure they are comfortable and leave her office on a path towards a healthier state of being. Our German shepherd is notoriously against all things vet related, but was calm in her presence. Dr. Laurel will help get to the root cause of issues so pets can thrive with long term solutions, rather than a short term bandaid. After three years of living in the area we are so happy to have found our permanent vet!

Dr Davis and the Sunvet crew have created a calm and loving environment that immediately puts my dog at ease. Dr Davis has been our vet for close to a decade and she is without match. Wise, caring and always provides effective treatment and intervention. I highly recommend her practice.

Dr. Laurel supplements traditional veterinary practice and expertise with a fascinating ability to communicate directly with her patients, which brings out additional information about your pet's pespective as well as his/her physical and emotional health. At Sunvet, "Holistic" doesn't just mean that they include a "natural" approach, it means comprehensive insight enabling pet owners to more fully understand and care for their furry friends that you just can't get from traditional veterinarians. Highly recommended!

A visit to Dr. Laurel is a highlight for me and my wonderful dog. She is knowledgeable, intuitive, friendly, and able to answer all my questions. I've seen her a few times since December and my dog is perkier, happier and healthier as a result of her guidance.

I love Dr Laurel. She saved Percie's life 10 years ago and when I brought him in today I got a diagnosis and understanding about what was going on with him. I'm so glad that I have someone with a combination of empathy skills and humor that she brings to my kitty and me. Forever grateful I will refer forever and ever and ever., and I do! love her and the office staff answers my questions and gets back to me.

Since 2011 I have been using Sunvet as my primary vet. Dr. Laurel and staff have helped one of my dogs through cancer, my Bassett mix through the loss of use of his back legs, my cat with hyperthyroidism, and my current dog with every day normal concerns. Based on the care and concern that my animals have received, I highly recommend Dr. Laurel and her staff at Sunvet for all of your animal’s needs. They are passionate about their work, and Dr. Laurel has an amazing ability to communicate with my pets and come up with practical solutions for all their needs.

My canine companion, Molly, gets indiscriminately excited about socializing with people, including visits to the vet, but during her visit with Dr. Laurel, she was exceptionally calm and happy. The best of the best at NCSU have been stumped by her vague, morphing inflammation symptoms over the past 2+ years— from allergies to GERD, EOE, IBD, arthritis— but privilege extremely conventional treatments nonetheless. We have been resigned to less-than-ideal outcomes that seem to reflect we are perpetually missing some part of the bigger picture. The uncertainty surrounding her chronic issues (as well as my work consulting with researchers on scientific writing) has left me a bit skeptical of my own intuition and sometimes nervous or hopeless about alternative methodologies. But when I first read about Dr. Laurel about a year ago, I could not ignore the idea of making the 3.5 hour drive to see her. It was one of the most “right” decisions I’ve made as Molly’s human companion. I was struck by Dr. Laurel’s ability to navigate “the ether” (for lack of a better word right now) with a grounded, practical approach that was both incisive and full of ease. Although we are currently solving a new neuromuscular mystery with Molly’s team of providers that so far doesn’t have any easy answers, the quality of time, information, and perspective Dr. Laurel provided was bracing and much-needed. We will be back to see her, as she is a real, living treasure right here in our very own state. At NCSU, I feel like we’re among birds of a feather in terms of how they work with *people* who understand the human-animal companion bond as sacred. At Sunvet, we felt all that; but Dr. Laurel’s commitment to work *with* the *animal* is resoundingly clear. She seems not only to hold, but to put into practice that rare conception of animals so eloquently expressed by Henry Beston: “We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. Remote from universal nature and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby a feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate for having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein do we err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.” Thank you, Dr. Laurel, for showing us that Mr. Beston was incorrect on one point— that ‘we shall never hear.’ I left feeling confident that she had fully seen and heard both me and Molly.

I have seen Dr. Laurel with two of my animals; over three years ago, she diagnosed my dog, Chai, with dementia and helped me get the right supplements to help her in her final year of life. I recently took my newest baby, Jack to see her. …

Dr. Laurel and the staff at Sunvet have made profound differences in my dog's health and well-being, and my own peace of mind. When we first came to see her, my dog was experiencing convulsive episodes. Dr. Laurel prescribed supplements and taught me how to prepare healthier food for Marley -- which not only remedied the issue, but put a new spring in the aging dog's step! Recently, when Marley developed an inoperable mouth tumor and was ready to go "back to Spirit", Dr. Laurel, assistant Stacey, and the staff gave us the most compassionate, honoring, reverent assistance I could have ever hoped for. I am truly grateful for their intelligence, holistic approach, and thoughtfulness of the sacred bonds between pets and their humans.

Dr.Davis is very intuitive and passionate with her care of her animals. I have taken my cats here for years. Dr. Davis works as naturally as possible for my cat's health. They have changed their hours to be available 5 days a week. This is so helpful.

Dr Laurel is amazing as a holistic vet. Using her intuitive skills she provided me with valuable insight and information about my dog that I do not receive from my regular vet. She is very caring and her staff provides a comfortable, calm environment. I am always very pleased with the information I receive from my dog, Amber.
