I called to ask a simple question and the lady was so rude and like I just asked if I could come in and see the dogs and she said we are not a petting zoo and we don’t want a lot of people in here because it can scare the dogs and make them mean. I have had a lot of dogs and more people the more they get excited so I give this place a 1 star

Great place to adopt a fur baby for a lifetime friend and companion. They used to have a no euthanization policy, but I think they made a new policy that allows animals to be euthanized after a certain period of time now ???? ????

The only reason I can give them a "2" rating is to acknowledge the kindness of the foster team staff. My family had fostered 3 puppies for 5 weeks. We loved and adored them. The sweet babies thrived in our care. We purchased our own food for them because the food we were given from BWAR upset their stomachs and was cheap. After they were altered the puppies went up for adoption. Within 1 week of them going up for adoption, our sweet little girl that we had grown exceptionally close to was still on the website for adoption. My husband wanted to surprise me and go adopt her for us. He is not on social media and he was not the one who took the test and read through the policies (I was the one who was certified as a foster parent). All of that to be said, he did not know there was an "appointment only" policy. When he arrived at the shelter the door does say "Walk-ins" welcome. So he walked in assuming he was going to come out with our little foster baby. Unfortunately, the front desk staff met him dryly and flatly with "you must have an appointment". He tried to explain that he had been the foster parents and had her for 5 weeks. No compassion, no empathy, no understanding, nothing. So he stood there and went on his phone and navigated the process to make an appointment. The next available appointment was in five days. He let the staff know and their response to him was "hopefully she is still here by then" and "she may not be available". But in that moment she was. In that very moment, where he was the only one in there with the staff, she was available. He felt judged. He was furious. They were cold, dry, flat. Nothing. In less than 1 hour of him leaving the shelter, her picture was removed from the website. I am certain it is because they did not want us to come back for her. I am assuming they found someone of their own choosing and liking for her. While looking on the website he sees "walk-ins may be accommodated". I am not really sure the criteria for being accommodating because it most certainly is not having fostered for 5 weeks and paying for everything out of pocket, wanting to love a puppy forever, and being there when no one else is in the shelter. I guess we weren't cool enough or in the inner circle/clique. After sharing our story with others, we have been validated in learning that many others have experienced the same treatment. Rude front desk staff lacking customer service, etiquette, compassion, empathy. I suggest training on those areas, and perhaps policies and procedures and messaging. Shame on you BWAR for reinforcing what we were trying not to believe about you. The exact reason I chose BWAR to foster with was because of the bad reputation you have in our community. I wanted to support you. I hope our little foster pup is so happy and loved.

They found out an employee was possibly autistic and weirdly fired her a couple days later out of nowhere. Not a coincidence.

These people are extremely ableist. They fired my wife for being autistic, refusing to give her a good reason why they let her go.

A friend of mine was a worker at this rescue, however they were let go because of ADHD. As a person with this condition, I can tell you that we are literally normal people. We may zone out or be hyperactive, however we can function like normal human beings and do any job we put our mind to. I'm extremely unhappy to see that my friend was fired just for a behavioral condition that does not affect mental capacity, nor does it make someone an unprofessional worker. It seems to me this rescue is the unprofessional, as they discriminated and conveniently got rid of their position upon knowing their diagnosis.

Seemed kinda unwelcoming, and there aren't a whole lot of animals there

This is an amazing organization within our community. They have spayed/neutered 2 of our fur-babies. The rescue work they do is amazing. If you are looking for low cost spay/neuter, low cost pet supplies, to adopt, volunteer, or donate....check these guys out!

This place is such a great rescue. You can count on them to inform you on adopting a pet and is a great place to go or at least start your search. They also have some extra services, like a spay and neuter clinic, that is there for the community instead of motivated by money.

Very nice people to work with animals we had to find placement for our dog lux because our landlord sold our neighborhood now no pets allowed. The staff took the time to explain how adoption works asks for everything to make lux feel at home then assured us if we wanted to truly find a great family it takes time. We found a home before they could our grandpa took him in. But they were great and there to help

They were kind to us when we adopted a dog at one point. The fact that the new owners of brother wold actively started putting down animals she didn't like is despicable and goes against non kill in their description both in person and on their website and paperwork. Overall kennels were clean, dogs smelled good, and they were great with helping us find a puppy!

Whoever who was the employee that greeted us at the door obviously had a bad day. She was rude and made sly comments to make us leave eariler than expected. She shouldn't work in a place such as this if she doesn't even want the time to give us info on the animals inside for adoption

We used the Mobile Spay Clinic in Asheville in March of 2021. Just a few months ago. Everything seemed to go fine the assistants who came to get my puppy were very kind. I didn’t meet the vet at all which I thought was strange but because of covid everything is strange now so I didn’t think much of it. They ended up forgetting to give us our leash back. I called and they kindly mailed it to us since we live 35 from Asheville. The issue began in April. My puppy started having swelling, redness and fluid filling her incision sight. I took her to my vet in Brevard. They said she was having a reaction to the incisions. They gave us some nsaids and antibiotics and told us hopefully that would fix the issue if not the surgery would have to be redone. She started having the same issue a few days ago. Unfortunately she is going to have to have the surgery redone tomorrow. It is going to cost us 350-500 dollars to have it redone at my vet. The price of the surgery is the reason I went with Brother Wolfe in the first place. I am a newly single mom of 2 small children and a puppy in a few months and that’s just not in the budget. But we are going to have to come up with the money for my puppy. I’ll probably end up charging it. This just completely angers me that the surgery wasn’t done correctly the first time I’m extremely disappointed in Brother Wolfe Mobile Clinic. Whoever this Vet is that did the surgery I hope you make it right by reimbursing us so that we can put that money towards the new surgery. I absolutely do not trust Brother Wolfe to go back and try to correct the surgery no way. I have emailed and left a voicemail with Brother Wolfe in regard to this situation. I will update if Brother Wolfe makes it right. As of right now I would give them 0 stars because of the vet that performed the surgery. Update: Holly at bw has been very kind in helping me get my refund. My vet decided this morning to try more medication before another surgery. Changing my review because they have shown lots of kindness.
