Brought my cat a few months ago and was told that she needed dental surgery, they had me do the labs so they could just call & schedule the surgery, i paid over $200 for pre op labs and never got called back to schedule surgery, i kept trying to call but no one could get me an answer, i literally feel like this clinic has stolen money from me, theres no proof tests were even done.

Dr. Mez and the staff at BH Animal Hospital are the best! I had to schedule my 15yo Boxer for surgery and was scared about her going under anesthesia. Dr. Mez assured me and said her heart was in great condition and her blood work was good (required for dogs 7+ years). She came through the surgery with flying colors - no issues! I'm so glad I went through with it. I've boarded her there as well - Steve (the gentleman who is there on the weekends for doggy pickup) even popped by when I was picking her up for surgery. Great team of people!

Most the reviews are saying this place is cheap and the people are nice. I've had the complete opposite experience. We have taken a cat and two dogs to this vet before and they all ended up dying. We didn't think much of it since they all seemed to be having problems that we weren't even sure could be helped. This time was different though. We were very cautious this time because every animal we take to this clinic dies. As my mom talked to the vet on the phone, I listened to everything while searching for potential causes on the internet. They were saying that our cat was severely dehydrated, which could not be the case. If that were true the cat wouldn't be moving around as much as he has. They wanted to keep him over night. If we had let him stay over night it would've been $800 hundred dollars including the very little they had done. This clinic irritates me though. I found something online that seemed to fit the problems my cat was having. We mentioned it to the vet, but they said they didn't need to do a test because it was an indoor cat and highly unlikely, but this could've been what my other cat had been affected by before he died. All the symptoms seemed to check out and everything just fit too well. The vet seemed to get an attitude when we mentioned it too. What the vet was saying was crop that didn't even fit. I was constantly looking up everything until I stopped. I made the final decision to take our cat home, but then the vet said it would help to give him fluids. We couldn't deny that it was possible the cat was dehydrated, but not as much as they were saying. They gave him 300mg of fluids. Which we later searched up and found you can only give a cat 100-150mg at a time. Not only that, but you could do it yourself. Getting the stuff ourselves would be very cheap. A kit for it was like $4. The vet made us pay an extra $53 for them to do it without giving us any other option. We ended up paying over $400 for the little they did. This place is not cheap and the vets care nothing about the animals. This is the reason I can't trust people. If anything bad happens to my cat and I can find that it has something to do with the amount of fluids given to him, I will take that place down. I'm already going to be telling everyone I know what's happened, and I won't stop spreading the word until everyone knows what this place has done. All the good reviews I see for this are all saying the same God darn thing without any proof. I have proof. I won't ever forgive any of our vets because it's people like here that took my most precious cat away. He was the sweetest cat in the world and he was the only one who listened to my problems. Now I'm practically losing my mind because I need someone to talk to, but everyone I have ever talked to just made me feel worse. I only had my car, but that cat is dead now because of vets that didn't know what they were doing and are only in it for the money. It's funny. It's the first time I've actually hated anyone. Anyways I won't stop until vets like the ones here are gone. I'll do my own research. If I go to a vet and they do what all the vets I know have done, I'll ruin their career. I won't stand for this. This is war.

Very unprofessional. Made appointment for our elder dog and was not called to reschedule. Woman insisted she called and must have spoken to my mother which is strange since she's been dead for 30 yrs. With this curbside service who knows if this poor dog has been getting her shots that she needs. Lies and deceit seems to be all we got from this place

We have dogs with special medical needs and the staff was so great about taking care of those needs. Never worried about taking our 'babies' there.

Took our dog in for a wellness check the vet was super nice and helpful. She answered all our questions. And gave us so many options to help us in our price range.

We went there for a haircut and the poor baby was absolutely not letting it happen. The staff was very nice about it and tried their best to work with him. Well definetly be going back with our less picky dogs

Had to put my bunny rabbit down. All were very nice and helped me get through my grief. I will miss him alot.

Friendly service. Very good with the dogs I bought in. Doesn't smell like animals. Very clean.

Dr. Mez has been our vet for over 10 years and you couldn't pay me to switch. She is an incredibly kind, thorough and dependable. Yes the clinic is old as DIRT but that really makes no difference to me. It's about the care and the reasonable price.

Dr. Anderson is one of the best vets around. He is thorough and compassionate with all my animals. He is honest and upfront as well. The techs there are amazing and friendly as well. Pricing is a bit high but you do get what you pay for. I love this place and all their staff!

We went to this hospital for the first time when traveling based on Google reviews. We were not disappointed. Dr. Anderson was wonderful. We have many animals and a wellness plan for them through Banfield, so we are well versed in vet visits. He took time to answer all our questions and educated us with bone models. The doctor was very kind to our GSD as well. If we ever move here he would be our vet for sure. Thank you!

Dr. Mez has helped us with two losses and now with our new puppy. She is an amazing, caring, sweet vet.

The have boarded my dogs. Done a great job. Keep track of everything and gave a good update when we returned. Also gave meds to my pups and didn’t charge more. Food is provided as well which I liked.

Love this vet! My family and I have taken all our pets there. They are clean and friendly and have extremely reasonable prices. I was quoted $800.00 at a different vet for the same procedure that BH Animal Hospital did for $250.00.

Great service and great bedside manner. I was given bad news on my fur baby but the way it was delivered softened the blow. Dr Anderson is the best.My fur babies and I will be returning.

I have been using them as my primary vet for over 8 year. The facility is dated but it works and works good. I have never been pressured into anything by the vets. Also when i adopted my dog 8 years ago i took him there to be looked over and they didnt charge me anything since he was adopted. I don't know if they still do that, but it caused me to stick with them.

Very comforting, and supporting staff. Had to let a good friend go, and they were very understanding about all my needs. Made the whole situation a little bit more comfortable.

Black Hills Animal Hospital is hands-down the best veterinary clinic in South Dakota. We have been clients for the last 20 years, and they have provided outstanding care for our two miniature schnauzers. Dr. Anderson and his staff have offered support, guidance, and comfort on both occasions when it came time to say goodbye to our dear canine friends. Sincere thanks and gratitude to the doctors and staff at BHAH. Highly recommend.

The people at BH Animal are so helpful and friendly and care about our pets.

Good vet, can be a little pricey, though.
