Dr. Chris Askins and his staff at Sweetgrass Animal Hospital are incredible. They're very patient and understanding with you and your pets needs. You can expect nothing but courtesy and respect here for animals and people. Their prices have always been reasonable and fair for the services our pets have received. This place came highly recommended by others in my neighborhood, and with good reason! I took my cat here for some concerns I had had recently. They were able to fit me in for an appointment right away. All the staff was super friendly, from check-in to the exam room tech to the veterinarian. They took great care of my cat…probably the easiest time I have ever had with him at the vet. We will definitely go back here in the future!

Our dog Simba needed emergency surgery and this team squeezed him in the schedule. This team was remarkable, informative and reasonably priced as well. Since we just moved here, we will probably make him our pups regular vet care.

Had an emergency with my pup. After going to my routine vet, they said they weren’t willing to take her in. When I showed up at Sweetgrass they immediately took her in. Moving forward I will be bringing all my pets here for their medical needs.

The staff is amazing and very helpful. Dr. Askins ALWAYS takes great care of our pets. We love taking our chocolate lab and chihuahua here. Anytime we have a concern, this team is quick to make sure our fur babies are well taken care of!! I highly recommend this place!

I was in a bind the other day when my dog fell ill. My vet in knightsville couldn't fit me in and was booked for two and a half weeks. Even when I thought it was an emergency situation. I called about 7 other vets in the area (none had appointments and were closing since I called close to 6pm). I ended up going to the Summerville Emergency Specialty care. The following day Sweetgrass Animal Hopsital staff called me back to see if I was able to be seen and inquire on how my dog was doing. They were generally concerned and followed up with me even though I was not even a paitent of theirs. Knowing my dog needed a follow up appointment in 5-7 days I made one at Sweetgrass. My dog was having trouble taking his medication, I called up Sweetgrass and they imediatly took him to help me administer his medications. The Vet himself came out to the car and spoke with me. Since COVID I had to rely on phone conversations with my vets/emergency vet in which at times was very hard when you have a sick dog. Overall I am highly impressed with the professionalism, great customer service and genuine care of my pet and of the staff at Sweetgrass! -From Brutus and his Boston Terrier Mommy

My dog recently had a dental, his first cleaning actually, and he did very well. The staff took great care of him and his teeth are sparkling clean now!

My eight year old lab recently had an oral infection which made her miserable. I was so happy that Sweetgrass animal hospital were able to see her the next day(I had not been there before). The vet came out to assure me that the infection the was limited to a single tooth. He put her on antibiotics and within a few days she was catching the frisbee with me. I will be going there from now on

Dr. Askins and his staff saw my pup last minute and took great care of him. They checked up on him after a couple of days and it really seemed like they cared about his well being. I am so happy with my entire experience with this office. Highly recommend!!!!

Always there when needed, even offered to help by staying after hours once to help once. Taken great care of my fur babies. They offer a care package for your pet like any vet, but they don’t try and make you feel guilty if you decline some of the extras like some vets do.

I was in town visiting family and my 7 month golden retriever was not feeling well. With everything that’s going on I was hesitant to bring her anywhere. I bought her to Sweet Grass Animal Hospital. I had called later on in the afternoon and they told me to come right over. Dr. Shannon was amazing the staff was so kind and loving. I had a million and one questions and Dr. Shannon was so patient with me over the phone. I was so worried but she took the time to explain it all to me. I want to thank Sweetgrass for all your help. Thank you for taking care of my baby. You guys are truly the best !!!!!!

Thrilled to see this office has a new owner/vet! The prices are lower and it is clear that Dr. Askins' main goal is taking care of pets rather than nickel and diming you. He was very upfront with ALL of the options for our dog and we never felt pushed or pressured to make a quick decision. He is very professional, understanding and friendly. Our dog loved him off the bat! I'd recommend Dr. Askins to everyone I know!

Dr. Askins is a great Vet. It was time to say goodbye to my 16 yr old Maltese and he was able to make sure I was with her til the end. The entire staff was compassionate and supportive during this difficult time. Thank you to everyone there. It’s the day all dog owners dread but they made it just a little bit easier with their kindness.

My cat was very old Daytona deteriorated quickly they fit me in to have daytona euthanized at 430 but he passed away in my arms at 415. The kindness and compassion I received was incredible. I will bring my future additions here until then I highly recomend them. Rachel is awesome

I took my cat to Sweetgrass thinking she may might not be coming home with me. It was very traumatic since she has been my fur baby for 15 years. I’m tearing up just reliving it. Dr Askins and his entire staff was wonderful, caring and supportive to both of us. Misty did come home with me and is back to her old self. One of these days she will be back with her brother and two sisters and Sweetgrass be even more caring and supportive.
