The best and most caring vets I've ever experienced. I love everything about this office, sometimes a little busy, but office stuff is so nice about everything.

I was extremely disappointed and borderline disgusted hearing about how my poor dog’s (Autumn) case was handled at Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic. It is safe to say my family will never be trusting Dr. Benton or Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic with the care of our animals in the future. My father brought our family dog into the clinic to hopefully get our sweet Autumn feeling better and to get some answers as to what was going on with her. Autumn had not been doing well leading up to this appointment. She was not eating, was inappropriately expressing her bladder, and had noticeable weight loss. All of this and more was told while her history was being taken. Following the physical examination, the doctor recommended blood work and radiographs for diagnostics, to which my father agreed. Once the samples and images were taken, the doctor went over the radiographs with my father; but no bloodwork. He told my father that he suspected a mass in the general vicinity of our dog’s liver and that he would recommend a specialist conduct an ultrasound for more answers. This requires a referral be sent into the specialty hospital so that an appointment can be made from there. Dr. Benton said that the specialty hospital would call us and that we would not have to call them. My father was also told that the blood tests were not done running but Dr. Benton said he would call personally to go over the results and make any recommendations based on those results. Dr. Benton did not discuss any possible diagnoses, but said there was no reason for immediate concern. Autumn and my father were sent home with no recommendations, medications, or diets to help get her to eat or feel more comfortable before her ultrasound. My father eventually received a phone call from a technician (not Dr. Benton) who went over the blood results with him. Unfortunately, she was not very thorough and merely listed two of the values off the CBC and chemistry as if my father was supposed to know what that meant for our poor Autumn. We feel as though this is extremely poor practice. Especially since the results were ABNORMAL and the doctor promised to call and go over the results personally. Also, the bloodwork was run in-house. So, why was the blood work not run while Autumn was having her radiographs taken? Anyone who has experience in the veterinary field would agree that taking and running blood samples before doing additional diagnostics is the most efficient use of time. This also allows the doctor time to go over blood results with the client/patient while they are still in the building for the appointment. Additionally, Autumn continued to struggle at home. My father could not get her to eat and/or keep any food down. Autumn got extremely weak and began hiding in closets/dark spaces. This hiding behavior is common in animals who feel that their ‘time’ is coming. This scared us even more because the doctor told us he thought we had no reason to immediately worry about Autumn. My father had to call to request some sort of diet/medication that he could use to try to force feed our dog since she was so weak and ill. Something he would have not known to do if it were not for myself telling him to do so. He also had to follow up on the referral paperwork personally. To make matters EVEN WORSE: when Autumn had her appointment for the ultrasound, the doctor informed us that the radiographs taken at Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic were unusable by the radiologist because the images were UNLABELED. Yes, a veterinary hospital sent out diagnostic radiographs that did not properly show the orientation of Autumn’s body. Because of this, we had to pay for additional radiographs to be taken so that the radiologist could form a proper report. As a veterinary student and aspiring veterinarian, I vow to NEVER treat a case in the way Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic treated Autumn’s case. You let us down, but more importantly, you let our sweet Autumn down. Shame on you, Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic. Your patients/clients deserve so much better.

Doctor Gamble continuously shows true care and compassion for the animals and is very educating to their owners. I've never seen this level of caring in a Veterinarian before. I will continue to use Oakbrook for as long as I have furry family members, they need this level of caring.

The staff at Oakbrook Veterinary with Dr Gamble are a class act. I've been taking my dogs to Oakbrook for over 20 years and as long as I have pets Oakbrook Veterinary will be my only choice. I have complete faith with their abilities to care for my pets' needs. The ladies there are special. I can't say enough good things about the service that me and my family pets receive. Thank you Dr Gamble and your staff.

Apparently they don't make appointments unless they're a month out. Just moved here and went in with an emergency. My pet was dieing & the receptionist wouldn't even get a doctor. Had to hunt down emergency vet. Not being from the area, we had no clue where it was. Thanks google. My pet ended up dieing. Would not recommend.

I take both of my fur babies here and we see Dr. Benton. He is absolutely the best vet we have seen in the area. We really enjoy all of the staff here. They are all knowledgeable and friendly. I feel very comfortable bringing my fur babies here because I feel like they are getting the best care and love while there. They always make a point of asking how the other one is doing when I bring one in and they remember details about them which tells me we aren’t simply another dog there. I have had to bring my toddler on two separate occasions and Dr. Benton took the time to talk to him about trucks and even gave him a magazine with tractors in it. I could not recommend them enough, truly. If you are looking for a vet who cares with the best service then look no further. We LOVE them.

Wish I could find a veterinarian who cared about animals as much as the bottom line. Thought this place did, but after needing them for real issues with my pets they were a let down. If you just need yearly visits they are ok.

I had my granddaughter with me and everything was explained to her also. They made her feel a part of the examination. They even let her listen to my dog's heart. A professional and kind veterinary practice.
