At 1:30am New Year's Day we brought our new kitten in. A pile of worms had just invaded our living room floor from her massive throw-up. Likely it wasn't an emergency but after having just lost a cat to cancer, we panicked and brought her in. The vet techs and vet were friendly, helpful, generous, and for having to spend their New Year's Eve there, cheerful.

They treated my baby with care. Treaged the incoming pets well too. I just wish they'd had more staff to make the wait shorter

They care was good, the staff was decent. The only issue is the price. They know they can jack the prices up because they have a monopoly on emergency veterinary care. I have used this company at several locations and never had a bad experience. They charge you 4 times the industry standard under the guise of emergency care. This visit was a simple visit, possible infection on paw. Not only was the visit charge crazy high. The medicine prescribed and given was 6 times the local pharmacies cost. It's just hard to believe they don't try to help a bit more. We returned the medicine and got it local for 5 bucks. Not 60 bucks. Sad

DON'T GO THERE! My Lucy was hit with a broken leg. They wanted $2,000 to amputate it. I didn't want to make a quick decision, wanted a second opinion from a local vet I know who would also give me some time to pay. They wrapped her leg up, and sedated her. They gave my 8 pound dog Dilaudid! She died 5 minutes down the road. I have talked with other vets who don't use hydromarphone (dilaudid, look it up) They charged me $1.00 for her waste, so they knew when they gave her to me she was dying. I paid $450 to them to kill my dog. She was hurt but totally alert when I took her there. She wouldn't have died if they didn't over sedate her. I'm 71, she was my companion. I should have read the reviews myself before I took her there. There are other reviews here that lost their pets and feel like they were lied to.

The vet, himself, was great but the technician told me several times to put my dog to sleep. My dog is healthy and happy thanks to the vet but the lady he has working for him needs a new profession.

Terrible experience! Our dog almost died because they said she had a UTI when she had a Pyometra (infection of the uterus). They never did an ultrasound!

This vet saved my dogs life. He herniated a disc while boarding. When we picked him up we could tell he was in pain. Took him to our primary vet, who did scans, gave meds and suggested bed rest. Next day, he woke up paralyzed. Our neighbor suggested CVS and THANK GOD he did. We came in, and they immediately got the neurologist who was on call (it was a Saturday morning). By Saturday evening he was out of surgery, and we were getting regular updates. He can walk now and is recovering. Thank you Dr. Dantio and the amazing staff at CVS.

Though we went here to get our cat help we had to put him down. Staff was super very clean place. Was a sad day for us leaving behind a family member but I would recommend this place to anyone. Rest in peace Phoenix we will miss you.

I took my dog early on a Sunday. We got in quickly but thats when anything good took place. My small dog was not eating or having bowel movements. She was lethargic and hardly moving. They said they checked her out and did bloodwork. I told them I thought she might have a blockage , she was not eating her favorite treats. They ask if she was throwing up, I said no , over a week ago she had but that was because she ate a lizard. Well they came back and said her blood work was good everything fine. But they wanted to her medication. 5 prescriptions and over 500 dollars they said wait two days and see my vet. I barely gave her one dose of each and went to my vet first thing Monday am. My girl was dying she had poison in here system. My vet tried everything, she was to far gone. I don’t know where they got the good bloodwork report, but my dog was poisoned and dying, the anti vomiting medication administered and prescribed was exactly the wrong thing she needed. Why wouldn’t an emergency vet not investigate poisoning, when that is the number one cause of death in dogs? I don’t know if my dog would have lived with a full 24 hours of the correct treatment , but I know this location didn’t help my dog and may have quickened her death with incorrect medication I went here with my loved pet and trusted this place and these veterinarian and were not worth my time and all the money they charged for drastically incorrect medication and diagnosis. I’ll never forget the vet when I questioned the anti vomiting medication saying she was not vomiting and without looking at me she said with a sneer she will be! Please save your pets go somewhere else. T Miller

Handling their absolutely unprofessional, unreliable, unresponsive and very poor service privately, before posting any detailed information.... yes it was that bad.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Came here over the weekend after returning home from vacation to find my yorkie staggering, not eating or drinking, and loosing his balance. CVS ran labs (diagnostic) and I guess gave fluids. Just to come out and tell me that they couldn't find anything wrong with him. They recommended him have a CT scan done ($2,400) and expressed that it could be something neurological. $437.00 later, I left. Took him to his regular vet that is closed on the weekend to find out they he is severely dehydrated to the point of seizing. He has been on a 48 hour watch, with the max dose of FLUIDS that he is able to with stand. Needless to say he is improving and hopefully he will be able to pull through. Facility was clean

Took my dog to the Rock Hill location at 630 am after I found an open wound on her side. They didn’t have a vet on staff and would not have one until noon. They referred me to their Charlotte office. Why are they open if they don’t have a vet on staff?

Came here before checking reviews, everyone was right about the wait time. If your pet isn’t bleeding out, enjoy waiting 6+ hours in your car — before getting seen. We gave up after that, so who knows, you might have to wait longer.

My little Sam was very ill - vomiting and diarrhea. His regular vet was unavailable and the folks at the Carolina Veterinary Specialist ER were kind to my Sam. They handled this frantic fur parent with care. Explained everything thoroughly.

I would HANDS DOWN recommend this 24 hour vet to ANYONE !! I brought my cat Drax in at 1030pm on a Friday due to him coughing and sneezing.. I thought it was allergies but it turned out to be a nasty URI and it was getting out of hand quick.. They took my boy back and treated him with the utmost gentle care.. He is now on Doggie antibiotics and a eye ointment for his "sick" eye.. Pricing is fair IMO due to them being a 24/7/365 vet.. Plus the staff are all super engaged with the pets "parents", explaining and giving every detail as he was being diagnosed.. He is on the road to getting better now, couple more days he should be coming around.. PS... DRAX HATES HIS CONE OF SHAME

This place will charge you an arm and a leg. Don't go here. I will never take an animal here again. They will not let you go in so you don't know what is really going on in the office. Here is a,quote from one of the vet tech's our equipment costs more that's why we charge more!
