I just had my dog at CDH for a week while we were on vacation. Staff were friendly, very responsive to his needs (and our questions/concerns). Dogs get plenty of play time and have good sized suites (fenced areas for each dog). Highly recommend!

The staff here is fantastic! They're working very hard and diligently given the circumstances of being understaffed. The manager here is the absolute best! 100% worth the 5 star rating!

Nice facilities with even nicer personnel. The manager was extremely responsive and receptive to our dogs needs and made sure that everything taken care of. Good to see that type of commitment and helpfulness even in during the pandemic.

Only came for a tour while the play group was "napping" hahahah loud nap. Was a little disappointed in no grassy area for dogs. But over all everything looked nice and clean and doggos seemed happy.

The staff at Charleston Dog House are absolutely wonderful! They love your pets like they’re their own. I would 100% recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for boarding in the CHS area.

If you care about your dogs don’t take them here. I witnessed workers kneeing dogs, yanking them by their collars, and pushing them. The facility is disgusting and is unhygienic. Dogs run on concrete all day and many get bloody paws because of this. If you are boarding your dog here they only get outside for 20 minutes a day. I know I will get a reply saying what I wrote is false. Just know I’m looking out for dogs. I love animals and wouldn’t want to see anymore go there and be miserable.

Amazing boarding facility with even better staff! The time they spend with the dogs is always amazing, and I love seeing the photos of them playing and having so much fun! This is the only boarding facility I'd ever use!

Money Is More Important Than Dog’s Happiness. My miniature schnauzer was brought here yesterday for some much needed playtime with other big dogs as specified in the notes when the reservation was made online. This was my dogs first visit and a record for vaccinations was requested. As per requested, a Medical record was emailed directly to business. Handler left the dog in the early afternoon. When I went back to retrieve my pup that evening I was told because there were no current vaccination records on file, the dog was quarantined from all other dogs, but was allowed to come out to play by himself. Absolutely Ridiculous! He could have stayed at home with my other dog and at least had canine socialization. The purpose for the visit was for social interaction, NOT punishment! After investigating the facts, handler gave wrong information pertaining to medical records, a honest mistake, However why did the facility not check records before accepting a potential unvaccinated dog? Why was there not a phone call made for proper records? A simple 3 minute phone call could had rectified this entire issue and provided a paid service with specific instructions. Instead my dog was treated like a pound puppy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS! Update: second email was sent (after I picked up the dog) to provide updated information as a courtesy to all the other pet owners. You are correct, unfortunately the Bordetella vaccine expired on January 26, 2021, all others including rabies were up to date. I can admit fault, can you? Again... why was there not a courtesy call to come back to retrieve the dog. Why did the staff not verify current records prior to the handler leaving. Sure did NOT take you very long to respond to a bad review, too bad you can Not give the same swift service at your facility!

First time boarding my furbabies and they did great. One is a very anxious boy and they were very patient with him and he went in and came out tail wagging.

Usually I have no problems here but Sunday when I picked up my dog he could barely walk. They clipped his nail so short that u can see the pink he has a cut on his paw. He was in so much pain that he could not get in the car. They have reached out to me an apologized for his injuries and promised to be careful with him.

This place is great! We have been bringing our two dogs here for almost three years now, and they still get so excited when we pull up to Charleston Dog House! If you are looking for a place that loves your dogs like their own, you have found it!

???? I do not recommend, They will rile your dog up with music, yelling, and physical abuse. My dog had a bloody nose and trama due to this abuse! They will sue you if they are at fault for their poor care of your dog. These workers are not insured.

This place is like dropping your dog off at the humane society. Not good if you have a rescue dog with anxiety. Concrete floors and chain link fences. Absolutely no grass for the dogs to play in. They keep the dogs in the cages for 3 hours straight during the day. (Nap time) I don’t know how dogs would sleep. I’m assuming so they don’t have to deal with the dogs. Save your money and lock your dog in the garage at home. I do not recommend this place.

We send our two furry family members here for boarding and daycare. This is one of the few places they are not afraid to go into. Daycare has helped our puppy so much with socialization! Their weekend hours ensure we can reunite with our pups asap!

We have been taking our dogs to Charleston Dog House for over 10 years and have had consistently great experiences. We initially went to a couple of other dog boarders and, though we had no specific problems, have found Charleston Dog House to be much more professional and caring. When our dogs have been difficult, the staff have always been kind and accommodating, such as washing blankets when our pup with separation anxiety soiled them. They never complained about her and when we asked about her separation anxiety...the staff were very diplomatic--they seemed happy to go the extra mile and help calm her. We really enjoy watching the dogs play while we're away. When we don't get a chance to "check up" on them by watching online, the staff are always helpful and gracious when we call to see how the pups are doing. Tip for new customers: be sure to keep an updated copy of your dogs' vaccination records in a safe place (or a photo on your phone you can email). They're pretty firm about making sure your dog is up-to-date before you drop them off. We've had a long run of experience with the Charleston Dog House and don't hesitate to keep taking our dogs there again and again.

Our dog receives excellent care and attention every time. Charlie comes home happy and tired. We love looking at the pictures and being able to see our dog online while we are away.

We have 2 dogs that both love staying at Charleston Dog House! Our younger one gets to participate in the Doggy Day Care & always has a blast. I love being able to watch him on the cameras to see him having fun with his friends! Our older pup prefers to opt out of play time & instead gets his own private outings regularly. Both my boys come home happy & clean after a send-off bath! The staff is amazing & they’re always so excited to see us come back. I love how they know every dog by name & are really in tune with their manorisms. It makes me so happy to know I have somewhere they feel at home when they can’t travel with me. Thank you, Charleston Dog House, for being a safe & happy home away from home for my fur babies!!
