The groomers at Afortable Grooming truly engage with their clients. Pets feel as though they are having a playdate!

DO NOT bring your fur baby here. Upon arrival (9:00am appointment), I was greeted by one of the groomers (not the owner) who was very welcoming. It all went down hill from there. I noticed another women huffing and puffing in the back, setting up her work station. I learned later this was the owner (with very little experience). I get a call at 11:30 stating my dog was “way to matted down” and needed to be shaved! I have a Westie that use to be a show dog that comes from a very good bloodline. He is 14 however, does not look it. I said that wasn’t an option and that I would be willing to pay to have it done right. She said she charges $60 for the cut, $15 additional every 15 minutes. She called at 1:30pm for pickup. He looked HORRIBLE! I am willing to pay the $120 for the haircut that I was charged IF he looked nicely groomed like a standard Westie cut. I don’t disagree that he was matted down, I waited 1 month too long to get him groomed but that was the current wait time when I called around. Upon pick up, I was shocked. He looked horrible. The skirt around him was a defined line from a shaved back to the skirt which it should nicely fade. His ears weren’t trim like they should. She brought him back after I pulled a photo of a Westie on my phone. I watched as she attempted to fix it but nothing could fix the horrible haircut he received. The owner blamed the bad cut on 2 of her employees calling out today as well as owning the business for only a year. Out the door paying $120 for a cut that looks like I did it! And we all love the honesty of a Kindergartner…as my daughter comes in from the bus “oh mom, oh no, what happened to Fenway?!”

The cuts on both my dogs were uneven. Won't use again. I think they might have learned what few skills they have from each other. Would not recommend

I do not recommend Afortable Grooming. This is the second time that I have had an issue and the owner and employees refuse to accept responsibility. First issue was a few months back when I showed them pictures of my dog to explain exactly what we wanted as far as cutting the ears and such. I also explained to not touch the top knot curl that Boykin Spaniels have. After that being said, they cut and rounded his ears very short unlike any pictures I showed and cut off his top knot completely. The owner and groomer refused to accept accountability and said there is nothing they could do now. Worse customer service and zero lack of care. I had to ask them to make this right and all they offered was $5 off the next groom after several attempts to make this right. I gave them another chance and today they sent him home with a bloody and badly clipped nail. Because his leash was in my car, I carried him to the car and didn’t notice until the ride home that there was blood all over my seat. His nail was clipped badly to the quik. I called the salon to ask if they had noticed this and Kim and the groomer Krystal denied all claims of this happening and said it must have happened in the car which is impossible. Kim said “well the groomer did notice him pawing at the kennel”. I asked if this was before or after she cut his nails and she said that was beside the point and irrelevant. She then said that they would be happy for me to find another groomer. They did not once apologize or accept responsibility and refused to make the situation right. I am so terribly disappointed with their lack of professionalism. They also raised their prices without stating that beforehand and told me “this is what we are charging you today”. Krystal did not seem happy when I first dropped him off and would not look me in the eye. There was no sweet talk or kindness toward my dog she just put her collar/leash around his neck and said “come on Charlie” did not greet him or pet him first. Also, no one greets or acknowledges you when you are standing at the desk waiting. When I called back to ask what email I should send the pictures of his bloody nail and blood on my car seats, they ignored my phone call twice. Good riddance!

Wow, how should I start!?! Usually I am not the person to do this as I am a business owner myself but this MUST be shared. I have been taking my dog here for 2 1/2 years and I get her cut done every 3 months. Yesterday was an unbelievable day. I took my dog to get groomed and when my husband went to pick her up, he immediately noticed that it was the wrong dog. The lady that was working was trying to convince him that this was our dog even though it was similar in color and size but clearly a different breed. To make a really long story short, they gave my dog to someone else and there were 3 dogs that looked alike that were confused in this mix up. They had to track down the other owners of the dogs that were similar to mine to figure out which one took my dog home. Needless to say, we found her after much panic and cooperation from the other dog owners but I have yet to hear from the owner of this business when they clearly have my phone number. The lady that was working offered to give us a free grooming session next time but there will obviously be no next time. After being a customer for this long and a business owner myself this is unacceptable and a huge mistake of the business owner that should be addressed and learned from.

Took my pomeranian in a few months ago and they were told by my husband NOT to cut his hair except for ears feet and sanitary area. When I picked my dog up Sunday had shaved his whole stomach saying so he would be cooler, and when I complained she said he was matted that's why she did it, BS my dog has been going here for years and never once has he been shaved nor have I been told he was matted by Briggs the previous owner. The new owner told me she was sorry and would give me the next grooming free and I would have one of the older employees that Briggs had since she had done him before Well I have never received a email about my free grooming. So now I am left looking for a new reliable professional groomer. I do not recommend Sunday at all she acted like I shouldn't have been upset about him being shaved and she also had a big additude when I said well I didn't want him cut and walked off from me, she never once apologized for what she had done to my dog after me making notes on the online appointment and my husband telling her Sunday face to face Do NOT cut him.

The ownership has changed over from Briggs. The new owners hired inexperienced groomers. I took my dog in for a bath only. She came out with her eyes sealed shut. We had to go to the emergency vet and have multiple follow up vet visits after the fact. She had a chemical ulcer in her eyes from something used during the bath. Among the list of products provided to me - one product was Dawn dish soap used on her ears. My dog could not tell me that she was in pain. She could not tell me she was hurting - but I knew she was scared. I was scared for her - what owner wouldn't feel terrified and responsible that the place they brought their dog to for a simple BATH provided her back not being able to see and whimpering? I was worried she would be blind for the rest of her life when it took actual WEEKS (2 weeks) for her to get out of a cone and the bet to allow us to stop using eye drops and her eyes to dilate as they are supposed to. The business has not reimbursed us for the vet bills nor for the bath that caused the vet bills. They have actually allowed us to pick up a check for reimbursement of the vet bills but then cancelled that payment - DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. (see photos) The owner challenged us on the emergency vet papers we had sent over asking where they were at fault in the vet notes. As the vet was not there at the time of the grooming to see the product get in her eyes - legally she could not make the statement that the groomer certainly did this to our dog. I understand this and I'm sure any business owner understands this. The groomer however, asked my husband to re-read what the vet stated and asked where they were at fault. Our time stamped video of our dog prior to drop off that day as well as the time stamped photos of her that day at pick up was what helped us out. It was clear the problem happened at their place of business. My last problem came when my personal "integrity" was challenged. I placed a photo of Finley in a cone on my personal Facebook page and stated "Thanksgiving 2020 looks about right". The response was a flood on concern from family and friends asking what happened to our girl. Never once did a share the groomers business name, as I do believe in integrity. However the business owner called my personal Facebook post into question during a discussion with my husband stating it was in poor taste. It is interesting someone would question my moral compass for posting something on my personal page when I could have easily have written a review first without ever giving the business a change to make it right gracefully. Now that I understand the business doesn't handle anything gracefully, I feel better about writing an honest review here and warning others to not take a pet here.

Always great but especially so this last visit- my little Maltese has gotten more anxious in his old age and bc he was stressed about leaving me they moved him up in the order and got him finished quicker than usual. Love having a groomer that cares about the dog's emotional needs just as much as their trim and cleaning ????????

When I arrived to pick up my dog, no one knew or remembered my dog. He was found in the back storage room in the dark, in a cage and no air or water. Totally unacceptable. Owner tried to blame me, oh my gosh, how irresponsible. I would Never Trust them.

Very good experience. My dog’s coat looked beautiful and they groomed him exactly how I asked. A little pricey compared to other groomers I have used in the past, but I truly feel with my initial experience, I got what I paid for and I am very pleased. Will absolutely return and recommend to my friends.

The groomers are amazing. My dogs are very old and are always comfortable and given special love and nurturing. They are 14 and after a haircut, they look like young babies. I trust them completely to take good care of my dogs!

I would not recommend this place to anyone after what happened this past week! To keep this short, they gave our dog to someone else and tried to convince me the dog I was picking up was ours. This ordeal caused my wife panic and to breakdown after not knowing where our dog was. This is extremely unprofessional and careless of what occurred. To make matters worse, no one reached out to us for 2 days after this occurred. I recommend never going here unless you want to be given someone else’s dog and have no idea where your dog is!!

I just picked my dog up from his 3rd visit here. We had some terrible experience with other groomers, had found one we loved, and then the company went out of business. I found Afortable because one of the groomers from the place we liked came here. We were super nervous on our first trip. But all 3 times now, my dog has looked great, was well taken care of, and seemed happy upon pickup! I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!!

We took our dog there yesterday for a Schnauzer cute...they didn't do anything but trim belly area but of you course charged $50,00 plus tip. Do not think they even have her a bath. So disappointed wouldn't remand. Not we have to find another place to give her a proper cut.

Totally shaved my dog to the skin. Didn’t consult me about it and way overpriced. When I tried to talk to the owner about it, she just avoided both my partner and I having her staff tell us she was busy. We went back to her shop several times just to try and talk to her, she was never available. The staff were always complaining and rude. It was not a pleasant experience in any way. Moved on quickly to a affordable and caring groomer.

I've been going here for three years - today was the last day I step into that groomers. They have become rude and unkind. Today I called at 12:20 and a appointment was available I rushed my dog over for a 12:30 appointment because I had not properly done the online part. I got there at 12:38. I witnessed a groomer slamming a dog into a cage and when this same person came to check me in. She slammed her hand down and said "you will be charged a late charge" I explained the last minute appointment. Her response. As of January 1st if your late your charged. . I was like "that's it's are you kidding?" Her response. Good bye. Are you freakin kidding me - I've recommend them but no more. I have seen the decrease in truly wanting to take care of a dog in fact I had to take my dog to the vet this month to have her anals done because they didn't do it and said they did.
