Dr Jay is my hero. He and his staff took great care of my senior dogs and the youngens I have now. He is patient and passionate about the welfare of your pet.

We rescued a puppy who ran into some issues early on. The vet and staff at Lake Park have been incredibly helpful the entire time. They'll sit with you in the room and answer every single question you have and go above and beyond to get you what your pet needs.

VERY friendly staff and Dr Rutledge took his time with both my dogs. He was very easy going and gave me different options for my dogs. Im very pleased with their service and glad I switched.

Dog was stun by bee on eyelid with facial swelling. Eye quickly swelling shut. Luckily stinger did not go into eye. Emergency situation but told no new patients. Guaranteed not a future patient.

We recently moved to the area and I was admittedly nervous about finding a quality vet for my beloved Golden Retriever, Barkley. As he gets older, I am increasingly vigilant about his care, which is why I did a lot of research before ultimately scheduling him for a check-up at Lake Park. And I'm so glad I did! From the first call, the staff was extremely professional and kind - their compassion is palpable. Upon checking in, service was extremely prompt (we didn't wait at all!) and Chloe (so sweet!) was attentive and took comprehensive notes. Dr. Jay was welcoming, patient and made sure all of my (many) questions and concerns were addressed. I can tell he truly cares. I'm so grateful to have found this gem of a place, and will definitely be utilizing them for all of Barkley's healthcare needs for as long as we are in Matthews.

IDO NOT recommend this clinic. I made an appointment on Friday. On Monday morning I called the clinic to get information about my appointment. They said I could come and my appointment was available. When I arrived at the clinic, they told me that they could not take my cat and that I had to wait two weeks to make a new appointment. Are you serious???? No one called me back to tell me there was a mistake. I had to take my sick cat to their clinic to hear SORRY!!! They didn't care about my sick cat. I will tell all my friends that it was not professional and they do not care about animal health.

Super great service, they work great with my dogs! They even take big dog's! My one dog is kinda mean and hard to deal with but the vets here work so well with him! I definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I took my dog to Dr.Rutledge and she instantly fell in love with him. He's was very gentle with her and really took the time to look at her, often times you see the vet for 10 minutes, with him he was there for almost 45 minutes just explaining what was going on with my dog so I could really understand. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me on something that was more than what I needed . Really happy with this Vet. I highly recommend him to everyone. Pricing was also very affordable compared to most places I have been.

Made an appt to get a 2nd opinion on my dog. We didnt end up needing the appt but the staff who answers the phone is very nice and caring. Will def use in the future if needed.

Our neighborhood vet is not only easily accessible but they are a kind, friendly and professional veterinarian service.

Dr Jay is a wonderful person and a fantastic Vet. He and his staff are kind and compassionate, it's very obvious they love animals and what they do. We've taken our pup there since they opened and from basic checkups to surgery we've been very pleased. Dr Jay went out of his way to discuss every facet of the procedure to me and my fiance and followed up twice after. I feel our dog is safe with Lake Park AH and I'd recommend them to anyone.

My fur babies will never go anywhere else again.

We are SO GLAD we found Lake Park Animal Clinic. They are the kindest people you will meet and will take the best care of your pets. They call to check up after an appt and the doctor explains everything that's happening/happened in detail that anyone can understand. We wont take our cats anywhere else.

Let me start from a few weeks ago. I'm extremely anxious with vets and had unfavorable experiences in the past. Recently I noticed 2 bumps on my dog and wanted them checked out. I went to 2 vets and for a few reasons did not feel comfortable. I remembered I had Lake Park animal clinic a minute away from my house and read about Dr Rutledge, read reviews, even looked at his Facebook to see if he was truly an animal person lol. Everything I saw and read made me feel comfort in choosing him. I had my initial appointment with him and bc of Covid we had to talk over the phone. What a compassionate man this doctor was. He explained everything and I went from tears to relief. I scheduled a mass removal and teeth cleaning with him shortly thereafter. Right now as I write this, my dog is in recovery and I feel so happy with my choice with Dr Rutledge. I like that he is a private practice, on his own and has a staff that have been nothing short of sweet and patient during every, single interaction. You have no idea how much that means to me. Thank you all very much for taking care of Luci and I'm so happy to have a permanent vet for Luci going forward.

I have been to countless vets in the Charlotte area, including one skin specialist for my cat. Dr. Rutledge is absolutely phenomenal in cost, in empathy, and in how thorough he is with his explanations and care. We just found my senior cat has hyperthyroidism and elevated kidney values. Dr. Rutledge spent 40 minutes on the phone with me just to explain what this means and what options we have. We are so grateful for the office staff and how incredibly kind and caring they are as well. They are 1/2 hr from me, so the drive isn’t the fastest... but that fails in comparison to what we receive going to Lakeside Animal Clinic. We are so happy to have found them and Dr.R will be Jesters vet for life ❤️????????

After 50+ years of having many cats and dogs and many vets, this is truly my all time favorite place!!! Even if I move away, I will keep coming back for everything! Thank you for your great service and care of my pet!!

I absolutely LOVE this clinic. They are patient, kind and very responsive. They take the time to answer your questions and treat your four legged babies as their own. I will never go to another clinic. Dr. Jay is awesome and has surrounded himself with the BEST staff there is.

Dr. Rutledge is an awesome vet! Caring, responsive and conservative in his approach. His techs are all very kind and knowledgeable as well. We won't go anywhere else!
