I adopted a new puppy in the summer and quickly realized we forgot how to handle a puppy. Our other 2 dogs are 11+ so kinda lazy easy going. I wanted my kids to grow up with a dog. A co worker recommended upstate since she had taken her 4 Great Dane pups. I called and was able to set up our puppy for training at the perfect age (6 months). We missed her so much while she was in training but even after the 1st week we could tell a major improvement. By week 2 I felt like we had a different puppy. Week 3 we were super impressed with her new skills and he new behavior . She was so much more gentle with our toddler who loves to chase and tackle her. She also listened to us so much better and even has had no accidents as far as potty training since she’s been home. Highly recommend upstate Dig training

Crystal was our trainer for Cody, our six years old Yorkshire Terrier. Cody responded well to her and she was very patient when training Carol and me. When we travel Cody now has a second home. Sign your pet up. You will be glad you did.

My dogs have been there at least 2 times and each of them have had their fair share. My dog is in pain, limping, throwing up everywhere and is exhausted, crying, sluggish, and most likely muzzled. My other dog was very scared of his surroundings as if he was a rescue dog who had been abused. I’ve seen the people sling the dogs in order for them to go anywhere. As far as their training I don’t know, but for the Kennel would not take them ever again!!

In the beginning we loved Upstate Dog Training. Our Doberman, Kaiser was a frequent visitor there. We felt comfortable leaving him at 4 months old for training and were pleased with the results. They always had room for him, for last minute stays as well. The problem was that in July 2020, I picked him up and walked him out to the car, after a week long stay. I noticed him limping significantly, got him loaded up, then went back in to inquire if he had gotten hurt. No one saw ANYTHING. They acted like he must have gotten hurt playing, but again, no one knew how he got hurt. I was upset that this wasn't mentioned to me at pickup (they just handed him over and went on to gather up other pups). Now, we are thousands of dollars out of pocket in vet bills and medicines. The Dr's had conflicting opinions at first, mostly due to none of us knowing exactly how he got hurt at boarding. Now he is completely paralyzed and scheduled to be put down the Monday after Christmas. I know that the Dr controversy was not Upstate's fault, but I would NEVER take another dog there, as they clearly were not watching the dogs outside to even see how he was injured. That information would have helped with an early diagnosis of his back injury and possible saved this wonderful 4 year old Doberman from needing to be put to sleep. I caution you to take your dogs there, especially if they will be signed up for outside play.

We love Upstate. We have only used their doggy daycare services but are extremely pleased with their friendly staff. Dudley is always greeted and loved on each visit.

LOVE Upstate Dog Training & Pet Resort! We feel so comfortable letting our pup board here and she often enjoys the doggie day care. She's always excited to go and always happy when we pick her up again.

I signed my 8 month old Aussie up to Upstate Dog Training. I could not be more happy than what he learned in the 3 week obedience course. He’s very smart but stubborn, Crystal was Boone’s main trainer, not only I loved her but Boone did also. She makes sure you understand everything your pet has learned while there. If I could give them 100/10 I would. 10/10 recommend.

My youngest German Shepherd chief is six months old And I took him for a play date so that he could get socialized with other canines and he did wonderful and they’re just awesome Thanks Upstate for all you do to make us better Dog owners Jimmy Anderson .

My dog had never been to a kennel but when I picked him up he wasn't stressed like I thought he would be. He stayed 10 days and will be going back for another week.

My Great Pyrenees was so happy and they were even able to trim her nails during her bath time which even vets have not been able to do. I highly recommend.

We've been clients for years and will probably continue to be so for as long as we have dogs. Our dogs have always been well cared for and we have always felt secure with that thought. However, I was told, after the fact, that our dobie didn't eat for three days prior to being picked up by my daughter. They had our phone numbers but nobody thought to notify us. We noticed that he had lost weight but didn't realize that he was having a problem at the kennel. We purposely did not want them to have playtime with other dogs because we had an incident, last Spring, where he had been attacked in our front yard by a neighbor's dog and he has become very fearful of dogs he doesn't know if we are not present. He has his little sidekick, our dachshund, and we felt that should be enough company for him to play with for the one week. Thank Heavens iwe were gone only one week. Needless to say, I was disappointed but I feel sure that, when we address the problem with staff, they will be more alert to any problems in the future.

First time boarding our chihuahua’s. Great drop off experience and great pick up experience. Our dogs got a nail trim and a bath. Their nails looked good and they were fresh and clean when we picked them up. We missed them during our trip but had a good time because we knew they were being well cared for.

We love the family atmosphere of Upstate Dog Training. We drive 30 minutes to get there. Our German Shepard has been going there for 4 years. Couldn't ask for better care for our dog. Jeff and his family and staff are awesome.

They treated our dog with love and respect while we were out of town. He was greeted with friendly smiles and did not seem reluctant to go with them. I think he enjoyed his visit and we had peace of mind so that we could enjoy our vacation.

The caring workers here are so kind and efficient at working with all types of dogs. I have been very impressed with their effective training program, kennels and grooming. In over two years working with them I’ve never had a problem or concern. I would highly recommend their services.

I was pleased with the price but I do wish we could’ve been given updates on how our pup did! It was our first time boarding so maybe it’s the first time knit picky stuff but we were pleased with our experience!
