As I'm sitting here watching the 10pm news about how they're in need of fostering animals, ill share someone's experience that is upsetting. My grandmother picked out a puppy last week and was to pick the puppy up today after getting fixed. Well, unfortunately my grandmother did not get to get the puppy due to them not being able to fix the puppy because it had an upper respiratory infection. She was asked to take the puppy home for two weeks and bring it back to have the surgery completed. However, my mother lives with woth my grandparents who also has a puppy at home. It was asked if my mothers puppy could catch it and was told yes, there was no way they would be able to take the puppy home and asked if they would keep the puppy for the two weeks then they could come pick her up once better and had the surgery. My grandmother was told no they wouldn't be able to do that. Unfortunately there would be no way to keep the puppus apart so instead of keeping the sick puppy until it got better to go to a loving home, they said they would have to out the puppy back up for adoption. My grandmother and mother was so excited to get the puppy but now heart broken bc they could not keep it until the pup was better. I hope the puppy goes to a good home as it would have a happy and loving home. I will also be expressing what a horrible experience my grandmother and. mother had to endure all on social media

I want to let everyone know just how wonderful Greenville County Animal Care is. They are so nice and helpful. I just adopted a sweet dog that was vetted by Greenville County Animal Care and they were so wonderful helping get everything I needed to be able to take care of my new baby Ginger. I live in another state and Greenville County Animal Care sent me all Ginger Health Records and X-rays I needed to know all about my new baby. I can not say enough about this Veterinarian Clinic they are so professional, nice, kind and will to help you in every way. Thank You Greenville County Animal Care for making getting my new baby Ginger so easy.. IC Buff. (Jazz Boyd Buffington)

Staff is very rude. They adopt out aggressive pets to families with kids. I was told to call ahead to get them to hold a pet and when i did i was told i couldn't. I use to love this place due to no kill but they don't care about the animals or new owners.

Where do I begin. We adopted a kitty (Bruce Lee, now named Cheddar) from this place about 2 weeks ago. We were told he was in contact with another cat with ringworm. They apparently tested him 4 times (negative each time) and quarantined him for 3 weeks. We were told he was good to take home. They provided us with a mousse treatment and were told to apply it to his ears, paws, and tail every 3 days, which we did. About a week later, we started noticing red spots and scabs on him, which looked like ringworm. We took him to the vet, and she said it looked “suspicious” and to treat it like it was ringworm. The vet gave us more mousse, because I was afraid we would run out. This time, the directions said to apply directly to the scabs. I opened up the new bottle of mousse provided by the vet and I saw a SIGNIFICANT difference in the quality and smell of it right away. Turns out, the mousse that the shelter gave us was EXPIRED since March 2021. Idk who took “care” of my Cheddar at this shelter but I would not trust them with the care of ANY animals. Please be aware.

The vet wouldn't give me a prescription for the flea pill. Which was nuts because WHY NOT!!

I will never go back to this place. I found a stray kitten out ( gender still unknown) in a parking lot in Cherrydale and immediately rescued it; the poor thing was eating trash and was super friendly, so someone must have dumped it. I took it to Animal Care, hoping they’d take it…and staff proceeded to tell me it was a ‘parking lot’ cat and should be taken back and that they would not take it. What’s the point of a shelter if you’re not going to take in strays? Not to mention I bought a carrier for it to easily transport it and the staff told me that it was more inhumane to keep it restricted. Are you serious? I would never take an animal back where I found it, to die. This poor cat belonged to someone and there’s no way I was going to leave it defenseless in the colder months. I walked out of there and immediately called my local vet and they happily took it for the night and gave it it’s vaccinations. I’m in the process of looking for a forever home for it now.

I've adopted all of my pets from here throughout my life and I've always been so happy with them. I just adopted a sweet little Chihuahua from here yesterday and the have her completely vaccinated, sent home all the meds she would need with her, microchipped. And I absolutely Love my new sweet baby girl. This place truly cares about the animals, cares about them finding good homes and the staff is always so helpful. Rescue a pet and you'll have a best friend for life

I was very pleased with my experience. The staff was honest and understanding and I left with a potential service dog that I love with all my heart! Her name was ridgberry but her name now is Bridie which means strength in Ireland

We adopted maggie... we immediately fell in love with her... and she's so sweet... only issue I have with them is the pet hold deal... of someone is there to give a animal a loving home, we almost lost out on her due to someone thinking about it... if you have to think about it, you don't need an animal.. but anyway we love her she's ours, that's all that matters now

I would highly NOT recommend doing their foster then adopt program. After doing this program, caring for a fur baby for almost 2 years he is now living with his previous owners because his chip was not updated, and the correct paperwork was not file. I will have to take this to Civil court for the possibility of getting my fur baby back.

This is Bella I adopted from you folks about 2 weeks ago. Her name had been Ella but I changed it to Bella so every time I call her I am saying beautiful. She is an older dog with some health issues but she and I are taking care of this. She is my most precious friend and is bonding so well and every day trusts me more. She is the sweetest and most soulful dog. It is my honor to care and love her. Adopting a senior dog is the best thing I ever did for myself she needs my love and care and I have that to give her in spades. We’re 2 mature old ladies living the good life! Just to let you know she’s in good a good loving home and improving health wise. Thanks again. Michele D

Myself and my boyfriend have been to Animal Care multiple times. We enjoy going to look for a forever doggie (we have no preference)! All the workers have been informative and attentive, excluding the male who works at the desk. Every experience when he has been there has been a negative one for me. I find him to be very rude with his multiple snide comments and remarks. He could at-least act compassionate to future adopters considering the job he does. All the other staff seem to be great and the animals are very sweet regardless of the stoog with negative energy in the front lobby!

Absolute joke of an organization. They won't accept animals from Spartanburg county, yet if pets are found in Spartanburg county, they're sent there. Absolute train wreck. And they wonder why people leave them on the side of the road. They should be embarrassed.

I called Greeneville humane society I seen that the dogs are $350 to adopt ????. Then I called Johnson City humane Society the dogs are $200 to adopt .. I called Johnson city animal shelter the dogs are 130 to adopt a dog an then I called greeneville Tennessee animal shelter it is $75 to adopt ( an finally I called Greeneville, NC animal shelter and the dogs an cats are $35 to adopt ) . All places Make sure the animals are all dewormed, micro chipped and up to date on all their shots… ❣️❣️❣️This says a lot to me about which place truly is for making sure the animals just don’t sit in a shelter by making it more affordable to adopt a animal ❣️❣️❣️ After all it’s about rehoming the pets an finding them a loving family !! NOT UPPING THE PRICE !! I not being able to work an my son an I having to take care of our medical needs it’s nice to not have to focus on how to come up with the money to purchase a dog/ cat an can now focus more on getting what the dog NEEDS/ WANTS ❣️❣️❣️ I talked to Jennifer an she was very helpful an answered ALL questions I had about adopting a pet an she was very easy to communicate with .. ❣️❣️ I WILL IN THE FUTURE RECOMMENDED THE GREENEVILLE ,NC Animal SHELTER TO OTHERS TO ADOPT A PET FOR A NEW ADDITION TO THEIR FAMILY ????
