Tails R Waggin' Day Spa & Resort Gastonia, South Carolina

I have been using Tails R Waggin for many years for boarding and grooming. I started using their doggy daycare last year with mixed results. The new management and staff has improved the overall quality of Tails R Waggin. This is the only place I would take my dog for grooming, boarding, and daycare. The staff treats my dog like it is their own. The change in management was needed and has accomplished the intended results. I would highly recommend Tails R Waggin.

Our pup has stayed (boarded) here 3 times now and we have had nothing but positive experiences each time. The staff are very friendly and professional. We like the luxury suites since it has a live webcam so you can check in on your pup. Sometimes the cam won't connect but I have found if you refresh the page or log out and log back in, it seems to resolve the connection. Same with the doggy daycare cams. Our pup did attend doggy daycare during his last boarding stay which the staff said he did excellent and had a lot of fun socializing with the other dogs his size! Would highly recommend!

Not exactly happy after our recent stay with Tails R' Wagging. Our dog came home extremely dehydrated and with a severe limp. After dropping him off, we were not given the camera details even though we paid extra for that particular room and we had to ask about putting the cot in his room (which we also paid for). After talking with the owner, these things were provided so at least that is a plus. We understood that they have pick up times. We arrived 15 minutes after the window (11:30, we arrived at 11:45) after not stopping from Florida to North Carolina and leaving at 5:30 AM just to get to him. They barely opened the door (like I said understandable) but were rude when we said we just want to pick him up - keep in mind he had been there for 6 days so we were anxious to see him and we even said we would pay the late pickup fee. They informed us that he had yelped while going up the steps that morning and had not been putting any pressure on his foot after that. He has a limp when he first starts walking but not to this extreme. We also would have appreciated a phone call so we could know the exact date and time that it happened as we are now having to take him to the vet and are not able to explain the full story. I'm not sure if my dog was neglected as it seemed that he did not go out much (per the camera) but I can promise you we will NEVER let him stay at Tails R Wagging again.

i dont know what happened to this place, but since the last time we took our dogs here, the staff has changed and the treatment has changed as well. Dogs seem to be ignored and not taken care of. treats not distributed as usual, toys and blankets not given to them until we called about it, dogs not taken out frequently enough that our oldest was stuck on the floor in her own urine and feces. and on top of all of this, the place had the nerve to up their prices by almost double!! if you love your pets, do NOT bring them here. last year i would say definitely a yes as the staff was great with our dogs, but this new staff needs the boot and bring back the old staff.

I have a 6mth old lab puppy and could not be more pleased with the staff, care, and customer service at Tails R Waggin. Arlo has been boarded here and has been to daycare, both wonderful experiences. Prices are great, staff is awesome. Wonderful small business that I would highly recommend to friends and family.

I have loved this place for over 10 years, so I'm very sad that things have taken such a turn for the worse recently. We boarded our 2 dogs there last week. That was the same week they let two of their long time, more experienced employees go. Both of my dogs came home smelling like urine. My 9 yr old dog's bed was saturated in urine. She hasn't had an indoor accident in over 8 years so I don't think she was being let outside but maybe 1-2 times daily. My 7 month old puppy is extremely energetic, which I explained to them when I dropped them off. They said he'd go outside 6-8 times daily for about 20 minutes each time. Not true. He got fat and disobedient while he was there, and now he is peeing in the house! A 7 month old puppy can hold it about 8 hours overnight, but not that long during the daytime. He has become accustomed to going wherever and whenever he wants and this dog was housetrained within the first two weeks we had him! Some of the toys I sent were lost and I think water was withheld from him because the minute we got home, he drank a half gallon and I had to pull him away from the water. He is also cowering when someone tries to pet him. I think he was so excited when someone came into his room that he probably jumped on them and was hit or pushed. They do have cameras and I checked them 8-10 times daily and never once saw either of my dogs out of their rooms. They have high schoolers working there now, who stay on their phones a lot (I have pictures) and don't check on the dogs. The place used to smell clean but the odor hits you when you walk in the door now. Smells like urine and poop. My puppy chewed up his large plastic and rubber feed bowl and no one noticed. I'm done here. I know two of the vets that own the place so I'll let them know how things have deteriorated here since we last boarded there two months ago. Very sad.

My golden retriever was boarded at this facility along with my mother's corgi a couple of weeks ago. We were greeted by rude staff who rushed us out of the facility because it was near their closing time. We would have had the dogs there earlier to avoid being rushed, but their staff made an error in informing us of an incorrect drop off time. During our vacation we called multiple time to see how the dogs were doing, as they were boarded for the full week. None of our phone calls were answered and the voicemail boxes were full. Upon picking up our dogs, we noted that my golden had a cough. Said cough has now developed into KENNEL COUGH for both dogs. When asked about it, the staff openly admitted that they had infected dogs on the premises and did not bother to notify to us. We are now close to $400 deep in vet bills, which is nearing what we paid to board the dogs for the week. The facility was unapologetic and all that they offered in return was to compensate another stay. I do not recommend this facility at all.

I enjoyed mine Stella Bella's tour. I loved that they have private rooms. I'm excited for Stella to enjoy her stay.

what’s the point of having a number if they won’t answer

I was hopeful about this place and left my dog Friday-Saturday in the luxury suite. My dog was not taken to the bathroom except for when she was first brought in. I was told my dog refused to go outside.. but she is a 9lb chihuahua so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t pick her up and take her to the bathroom. Her harness was left on her during her stay and whoever put it on put it on insanely wrong where the loop holes for the leash were by her armpit and it was twisted and tight around her when I picked her up. I was not given camera access info and had to message for it and received the info the morning of pick up. There was confusion about pick up also. Worst thing of all is my dog now has kennel cough! Apparently other dogs have kennel cough in the place and nobody contacted me at all to let me know, I had to contact them. I am thinking this is a hygiene issue at the facility since my dog was not around other dogs nor taken outside during her stay. Of course I was not offered my money back nor will they pay for my dogs vet bills. Do not leave your dog here!! It looks like a nice place and I was fooled by that. Never again.

We started our 8 month old puppy here for day care 2 day's a week. Everyone was so nice Marli seemed to enjoy her 1st day. I love that you can pull up the camera's and see your pet. I feel safe and secure leaving her there. Would totally reccomend this place. ????????

We boarded our German Shepherd for the first time last week and had a great experience. Would recommend!

Looking forward to our pups vacation in June. The lady I spoke with was really helpful! Will update review after his stay!

Always a great experience for my great dane. He loves staying there when we can't take him with us.

I let my dog Heidi (Siberian Husky) stay here for 5 days while we were on vacation. I was nervous at first because of her breed and her being super hyper and an escape artist. They took great care of her. She stayed in one of their luxury suites I was able to pull up a live webcam feed at any time during the day. I would recommend to any friends or family that have dogs that need to be boarded.

Left my doggy for a few days, they took great care of him.

I had to evacuate Wilmington during the hurricane and this place was amazing. They were extremely accommodating and super sweet with my walker hound. I can tell their number one priority is the well being of the animals. So glad they were able to help us out. Would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

Our dog has anxiety in some situations. This staff is very kind and playful with her.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. This place is fine to leave your fur baby for a short time. Sometimes, we have to have help with our dogs. If you do not have family to help on long days, give them a chance?

Our “pup goes two days a week and when we go away for vacation she stays in boarding she is happy so we are happy!

Great place for our Pupper. He stayed in one of their large suites with his own bed. We felt very comfortable and safe leaving him there. We really loved their live camera feed to check in on him(:

They were wonderful. I was able to watch my dogs on video while we were gone on our trip. Since my dogs are getting older this helped ease my concerns about leaving them.

Both of my dogs, Great Pyr and Boxer, love the facilities and staff. Happy dogs=happy owner!! The staff at TRW are very hands on and love your pets as if they are their own. Cant recommend enough!

Great Service here. We have used them for years. Actually just picked our dog Stich up earlier and the people are great and will do almost anything needed to accommodate you and your dogs needs!!!!

Great daycare facility! I have not yet boarded there but will if needed! Love the staff. I am so happy TRW is 5 minutes away from my house!

Our baby Chewy had a great stay! Came home pooped out and slept from all the playing.

Tails are Waggin does an excellent job in making sure both my pups are well cared for while I travel. I’ve used them for many years and my dogs have a great time while I’m out of town!
