Waccamaw Regional Veterinary Center Conway, South Carolina

I only had my animal at this location one time and I will never return. He needed a checkup and his nails trimmed. Simple enough. When the tech took him to the back to trim his nails a scream like I have never heard come out of my dog poured through the door to the exam room where I waited for about 10 minutes. I then heard the vet ask the tech through the door, "is it normal to hold an animal like that while you're trimming their nails?" When he was returned to me he was tremoring for the rest of the visit and for close to half an hour after we got home. I don't know what happened behind that door and I don't intend to ever let it happen to my dog again. The vet was nice enough but there are other vets.

The staff here is so amazing! There was a little bit of a wait, but they were so sweet and it was easy to understand what they were talking about! It was also great that they let you know what procedures they are doing and talk about the prices before they go ahead and do anything! Great communication and great relationship building!!! This is far and away the best vet that I’ve been to in my three years living in South Carolina and there have been a few. The office is clean and beautifully decorated, the staff is wonderful and kind, and the Doctor was above and beyond. My dog Kimber gets very anxious about his vet visits, and is looking for the door as soon as he realizes, by the smell, where he is. I’m not saying veterinarians smell, lol, but dogs just know. My other shih tzu actually enjoys going to the vet because the more people she see the better. Anyway back to the doctor, he was so kind and gentle with Kimber and explained everything to me as he examined him. I went in for a skin condition that Kimber is suffering from, and I left knowing things about my dog that I was never told at other vets. The office staff and nurses are wonderful and pleasant people also. Another thing, the appointment was an actual appointment as in; I saw the doctor at the time I was scheduled to. I would highly recommend Waccamaw Veterinarian to anybody looking for a good, kind, thorough and just plain professional veterinarian for their pets. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I’ve been to 2 vets down in Murrells Inlet and Surfside Beach and another up here in this area, and like I said, this establishment blows them all away!

They exceeded my expectations. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They treated my dog as if he was one of there own. The vet was very knowledgeable and caring he gave me tips and tricks to keep my pup healthy for a long time to come. I will always use waccamaw as my vet because they make you feel like family. Our new kitten suffered a broken right front leg, around 10:30 at night. The next morning I called at 7:30, and the staff and Dr. Randy, (who I have no doubt are busy) were able to to see us immediately. They got his leg splinted and sent us up with a referral for surgery. Thankfully, the referral Dr. said it would heal just fine, from looking at his X-rays, that Waccamaw Regional supplied. From the compassionate staff, to the knowledgeable, friendly, and professional Dr. Randy, this will always be our family’s vet.

Being New to the area it was easy to find. The staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Randy and the staff loved my dog Duke, and really took the time to get to know him and his history.

From the first phone call to the follow up call to check on my 10 month old Ridgeback the following week 100% recommend!! Great team!!

If you have a busy life and have to reschedule 3 times, they cut you off and refuse to see your animal. I can’t help it that no one wants to work and I have too. People that are supposed to be there to help animals will flatly turn their backs on them.

Took our new puppy in and they were so loving. This place was super clean, The people were very knowledgeable about my dogs breed and for the first time I feel comfortable bringing my dog to a veterinarian. Thank you for the great hospitality. Will be bringing the rest of my dog crew in soon :).
