Courteous, detail-oriented staff. Rescued a kitten from across the street, and they were quick and helpful making sure that the baby was healthy. Kitten has been named "Metro", and is now a lovely addition to our family.

Very helpful and kind. Found a dog and they scanned the chip and called the owner to get Asu back to her owner. Everyone from the person I spoke with when I called to the tech that scanned her was great! Thanks!

Took our cat Diesel there Saturday 28th of April on Two Notch Road Columbia SC. The vet said that she needed to do labs on my cat as he was jaundice and I agree to $500.00 for labs. Labs in liver were extremely high and all blood counts were really low. My daughter asked if anything could be done and she said we could do fluids by IV and medications and she told us he could come around in 24 hours. Then she went and got additional Bill's amounting to $2100.00 for two days. I questioned her for 45 minutes as I am a nurse and I know bad lab results when I see them.I should of listen to my head not heart and ended this right then. But she was all smiling ,laughing and she thought that he would get better. She gave us fault hope for our baby.I had to pay $1300 up front. I didn't care about the money if she hadn't assured us he would get better. We called all night no change. Feeding tube in his neck now. She knew he could not be saved. Money is all they care about. They finally called Sunday and told us to come in. He was lifeless with a tube sticking out his neck. We had to put our sweet baby down. Then they hand you a bill for $80.00. This place stressed out Diesel in his finally hours for a profit. I wouldn't take a cockroach to them. They have left our entire family so stressed out. I think we deserve a partial refund as I feel they did nothing but cause more harm to Diesel.

Dr. Logan and her staff were very kind as we had to put down our 14 year old shepherd this evening. They explained the process to us, gave us the time we needed to say our goodbyes, and even gave my 8 year old a paw print of our dog to take home. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

I work a night shift so my "OMG my dog/cat needs to see a vet now!" moments tend to happen at 3am when their normal vet is closed. PERH is my emergency vet of choice. Over the years I have encountered very good vets and not so good vets. At their best they have been lifesaving. At their worst...well, no harm no foul (for me, anyway!). It is expensive but that comes with the territory. My one big HUGE complaint about this place is that the primary emergency vet (who coincidentally happens to own the clinic) insists on doing normal vet work at emergency vet rates. For example, I once took my cat in because I feared she had was developing Bloat (a life threatening condition) after a way-too-close encounter with motor oil. I wanted her to get some blood work and possibly another bath. The vet was insisting on x-rays and evaluating her for a "minor" (his description, not mine) back injury. When her blood work came back clear I had to insist on taking her home against his recommendations. It wasn't that I didn't appreciate the vet's thoroughness or that I didn't take the possibility of a [minor!] back injury seriously but my wallet wasn't bottomless. My cat wasn't going to die of a sore back. But my bank account might have if he had done everything he wanted to do. I still trust this place over the one downtown but watch your wallet and don't check your spine at the door.

Oh if it were possible to leave no star at all, even one is too much. Called to order my dogs prescription food and couldn’t get anyone one the phone besides the fact that they kept hanging up on me and when they I finally got someone they tried to say I called their fax machine when I called the number from google . Then when I mention the phone issue and say maybe you need to get your phone fixed she immediately and rudely says I need to fix mine and got upset when I called her rude, the office manager doesn’t know how to listen nor take complaints about her staff. But that’s expected from a place that sucks at customer service. The vets did nothing for my dog but take thousands of dollars from me and he still has the same non genetic problems . This office sucks lol please take your animals somewhere where they actually care.

The entire experience was uncomfortable. I went there 7 months ago and I am still upset just to think about it. As an emergency vet clinic they will try to squeeze every single penny out of your pocket. I had no clear diagnose given for my dog but they wanted to keep him overnight for $3.5k. I took my pup home and he was fine 24hours later. Called my regular vet that told that everything with fine by JUST talking over the phone The staff didn’t seem knowledgeable, the premises weren’t clean, the service was rude and pushy. When I asked about the X-ray the vet didn’t know, she said there is like a mass in his intestines, Which was just poop ! This place is NOT the ONLY option for emergency vet in Columbia. You will be better off somewhere else.

Staff was EXTREMELY unprofessional. Do not take your animal here. I have had SEVERAL bad experiences with Dr.Smith alone before she was even at this location. She misdiagnosed my dog and said she would die in hours, tried to get me to spend …

I have read the ratings to try to understand the low stars. I am completely flabbergasted. Chance, my golden retriever, and I have had nothing but excellent treatment by all of the staff. I don't understand the surprising cost as they are diligent to present you with the estimate prior to any treatment. They will not perform any services that you don't authorize. They even reimbursed money that was not utilized for Chance's treatment. Chance was hit by a car and required extensive treatment. He spent four days there hospitalized. He had to have an orthopedic surgery on his leg. He got to come home and even though it will be several weeks before his leg is healed, he is much better. The doctors and staff saved him. I'm so thankful they are ALWAYS open. The care and compassion given to him was great. I highly recommend Palmetto Regional Emergency Hospital for Animals.

I have had to use this ER before, almost a year ago. I had to use them again a few nights ago. My poor baby ate one of my rings. He had to have surgery. The staff was so caring and the doctor was amazing. My baby received excellent care and I am so thankful they were there. Dr. Fedash is wonderful and so are their staff.

They have always taken care of my pets during an emergency and even with the loss of my boxer this year. And prices are much more reasonable then other emergency vets in the area.

First time here with an accident victim. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They took him in right away and kept us up to date on all his progress. Since Paul was a stray, they accepted donations there for his bill. They even accepted donations over the phone. They are great! Today, Paul is ready to be adored. When I called and asked for his records, I had them emailed in a matter of minutes. This is the place to go for your pet emergencies.

Staff was pleasant enough, but the Doctor was fantastic. And I do mean fantastic. She was kind, compassionate, supportive, and took the time to answer my questions to help me sort through some of my fears. Overall, being experienced as a tech in the field, I was extremely pleased, and won't hesitate to use them again if needed.

Carolina Helping Paws Rescue in Sumter, SC was contacted concerning a puppy that was very sick and abused. Janet Derrick quickly went into action and called Palmetto Regional Emergency. They were expecting this poor baby and quickly started treating him. It was determined after an examine that the puppy had been stepped on. The poor baby had a perforated colon, fractures, parasites, infection and was skin and bones. Dr. Fedash was very quick and took him to surgery and update us on his care. She and her staff were so efficient and most of all truly cared for the animal. The puppy lost the battle the next day but it did know love the last day of its short life from the Dr. Fedash and Staff. Thank you!!!!

The staff is caring, BUT I was disgusted by the whole process of them trying to squeeze every single penny out of us. I received conflicting stories about by my dog and felt they weren't being honest. One minute it was AMA to take him, the next minute it wasn't since I was going to take him home and to his own vet. They told me that the only way my dog would heal properly is if he got this almost $3,000 surgery. Once they realized I was taking him to his own vet, it seemed that suddenly my dog didn't need the same level of treatment and was downgraded in boarding. Sadly, they must think people are stupid or blinded by emotions, which some of us are, but I could see through it all. I took him to his own vet and found out there were 3 different options for surgery. I felt even more disgusted and horrified by the process because not one person mentioned the other two possibilities as they were more focused on hard-selling the $3,000 surgery. I caught them in their lies when they said the surgery was scheduled for one day so his lungs could heal, but told me that he still needed x-rays even though he was breathing normal and nothing was damaged, but they were going to do the x-rays ANYWAY which would have cost us more. My vet said he didn't need more x-rays in this case and I could tell he knew their game. If I had left my dog there another minute, we would have paid for more unnecessary poking and prodding just so they could fill their pockets. I respect that a professional should get paid for the service they provide, but I cannot respect this kind of lying and taking advantage of people! Be very wary of these guys. I have them 2 stars because I know the staff was good with my dog.

They were very good. They helped a kitten we adopted who got very sick after he came home. The medication was very good and he grew into a healthy young cat.

Emergency visits to the vet are always frustrating but we have had to bring our cat Sully here twice and the vets were respectful and understanding. They gave us treatment plans that would allow us to wait until we could take him to his regular vet.
