Our dog Riley just started coming to Barker a few weeks ago and we have nothing but good things to say! The staff is SUPER caring about all the dogs and our pup always drags us in the door each morning so I know she is having a great time!

We had sent our pup Momo to Barker Lounge for a few days while we were on our honeymoon. After several attempts to contact them about how Momo was doing, Barker Lounge was slow to respond and sent no pictures. We tried to reach them via email and Instagram. We were extremely frustrated with the lack of response while being in another country. Even after this concern, we decided to give Barker Lounge another chance. We tried to board Momo for a weekend but we could not access our online account. After a call to Barker Lounge, they told us that they BANNED MOMO BC MY HUSBAND WROTE A DETAILED NEGATIVE REVIEW. Instead of recognizing the issue and trying to resolve the communication issues we faced, they banned us! You can’t even find my husband’s review on Google anymore — I suspect they reported it. Beware if you send your dog here. Bad work culture, I wouldn’t trust them there. Additionally when we had first visited the facility, there was one person working the first desk and they completely rushed us when I asked for a tour. Even then they do not provide information on how they care for the dogs, when they are let out, how long they are kept in cages, and there are no cameras on the premise. The community deserves to know, since our pups can’t speak against them. Barker Lounge, you should be ashamed. I will never recommend you to anyone.

Not professional. If you leave a bad review they will ban your dog instead of fix the issues that led to the bad review.

We took our dog here for years. He had a BIG personality and loved everyone who worked here. Always so excited at drop off… and this was a dog with major separation anxiety. He sadly and unexpectedly passed away a couple of weeks ago. They …

I took my dog here for a free meet & greet, considering leaving them there for a few days while we traveled. Upon arrival my dog was whisked away for their “introduction” and I was given a tour of the building - even though I was only leaving my dog there for a few hours as part of this trial, I almost cried when I pulled away. The indoor play area is so dark and literally just four concrete quadrants where the dogs run around together, outdoor at least is a bit more refreshing but still nothing more than open space with zero structure. The area where the dogs nap and would stay overnight literally looks like the pound, metal crates and concrete floors. The dogs that were in the crates were barking so loudly I have no idea how any dog could ever relax in there. My dog also now has a UTI this week which I guarantee was from her needing to squat on their dirty outdoor grass areas. If you have super low standards for your dog, then whatever this place probably would work for you but there is literally no way I will ever take mine back there again!

It was my husband and I's first time taking our dog to Barker Lounge to get groomed. The initial drop-off was stressful/disappointing. When my husband walked into the facility there was only one person up front and they were on the phone unable to help/answer any questions. It was a very hectic drop off and it was our first time paying for a service. Another thing that I was upset about is that no one called/texted myself or my husband when our dog was finished being groomed. Every single place we've taken our dog has a system in place to notify us so we aren't left wondering. Lastly, the services we paid for included a nail trim. I noticed our dog didn't get a nail trim. I called Barker Lounge and asked to speak to the groomer and played phone tag for 3 days with her. That in and of itself was very frustrating. Come to find out she said that she didn't need the nail trim. I have a hard time believing that. It had been a few months since she got them trimmed. It's a very convenient doggy daycare/grooming facility located less than 3 minutes away from where we live, however we will not be going back due to the dissatisfied experience we had.

We knew of The Barker Lounge for some time, as it’s just down the street from our office. We first chose to try them on a recommendation from our dog trainer, Robin Lincoln, as she spoke very highly of them. Our 2yo Treeing Walker Coonhound (a COVID rescue) needed a lot more exercise than we could give him until our fence was installed. Even since then however, we keep taking him 2 days/week for the socialization & exercise. He’s so excited to go every time, and when we bring him home afterwards, he’s exhausted and happy. On those days, he typically crashes for the night by 6:30-7pm instead of 8:30-9, as in the 2nd attached photo. ???? We also started taking Hershey there for boarding while we’re on vacation, as he gets so much more exercise and play time than at his previous boarding. Now we need to see if our little Maltese, Molly, also enjoys day care & boarding there.

I spent so much time trying to visit this place and 3x talked to the nastiest people who refused to let me stop by. What are they hiding ? Do they have to put on a show before I arrived to see what goes on for my pure breed puppy. I am posting this on Facebook and I tell everyone never to go to this place. If they treat a person so poorly that is willing to pay them $$ how could anyone leave their precious dogs with such awful people. Your dogs unfortunately cannot speak to expose them!!!

I am dog sitting for friends and left the pups there this morning and picked the pups up this afternoon. They seemed happy and excited once they knew where they were, and happy to see me this afternoon when I picked them up. Great day for all!!

Usually when I’ve reserved a day for my pup to go and somethings come up where she couldn’t go and/or if I wanted to switch to a half day and just pay out of pocket instead of wasting a full day they’ve credited me back my day to use later on. Today when I tried to do that because I wasn’t gonna be able to get her into daycare until 10am due to my work delaying our start time because of the weather they said that “as of today we’re having to enforce our no refund policy”. My reasoning in not taking her at 10 is because they bring the dogs in from 12-2, so she would’ve barely gotten to play today. In my opinion it’s not a “refund” because I’m not asking for my money back; just to be able to use it at a later date (literally next week). The GM said he wasn’t aware of this happening, but he’s in fact been one of the ones who has “refunded” my days before when my pup was sick. Definitely not renewing her passes here at this location.

Let me start off with I was hoping to find an area to do a google review for Barker Lounge East Charlotte vs Barker Lounge on Montford but this will have to do. I attempted to wait 24 hours for some type of response in regards to my concern but I have not heard from a manager or anyone since we picked our baby up on Monday eve between 6 and 6:30pm. I was promised that the manager would give me a call to go over my concerns from the check out assistant (who's name I have forgotten at this point). We dropped our dog off on Friday morning with no markings, scratches or wounds on his person period. I checked social media over the weekend for pictures/videos of my dog and he was as I left him; unharmed, unscathed and not wounded. On Monday when my wife went in to get our dog she came out with a look of disgust and annoyance. I wasn't sure what had happened until she got to the truck to let our boy in and I saw his face. There was a dime sized opened wound and a small open scratch on his face near his eye. Had the wound been any closer I'm sure that his eye would have been punctured. I went inside to speak to this woman (again I do not remember her name) and as I began to talk she pulled up our boy's file and proceeded to tell me about an incident that occurred in 2017 at the Montford location. Well, that incident had absolutely NOTHING to do with what happened on this stay so it was irrelevant. However, because each stay at Montford my boy would come home with deep scratches, we pulled him from there and started taking him to another day camp/boarding facility all together. Her excuse or insinuation at that time was that maybe my dog laid his face against the fence and hurt himself. Well, if that was the case perhaps whatever fencing you have at East needs to be replaced or modified to prevent further injuries of other fur babies. This open would on my boy's face (near his eye) was not shown on any of the pictures they posted to their social media (Facebook) so it had to have occurred sometime after Sunday's post at 2:452 pm and the time of pick up. I may not be so irritated had someone noticed this and called or sent a message to inform us of his injury but they did not. So to me that means they were not watching or protecting and making sure my boy and others were safe. Then to be dismissed and NOT contacted at any point during or after (as it has been 24 hours plus) is really putting a bad taste in my mouth. I dropped my boy off to play and be cared for. Cared for to me means he's protected. I know how dogs play and I am also aware that my dog plays hard and loves to have fun but this is TOTALLY unacceptable. He has been at another location for over 2 years and yes, he plays hard but in those 2 years he has NEVER come home with open bite wounds or wounds period. They actually care and try to make sure that the babies are all safe. Apparently, that is not part of Barker Lounge East Charlotte's repertoire. I will NEVER take him back to any Barker Lounge but particularly Barker Lounge East. I will NEVER recommend that anyone take their dog to Barker Lounge East again. And I wish I could have given them a 0 rating versus a 1 but I had to do that in order to leave a review. Barker Lounge East and Management - THANKS for NOT keeping my baby safe and NOT caring enough to even call to inquire if he's okay or to express any type of empathy or remorse. Signed Mace's Mom (Ronda Parks)

The owner was very unprofessional and rude over the phone. Ive seen the employees kick, not tap, not lightly tap, but kick a smaller dog. If you want your dog to NOT be abused please dont bring your pet here.

The Barker Lounge is the only daycare in town we bring our pup. Rocky knows when it's daycare day and he runs to our door in the morning and then excitedly runs into the Barker Lounge when we get there. We are so happy to have found a place that takes such good care of him, provides him with a safe and fun environment, and lets him get out some of his energy with his friends! It’s such a relief to us that we have a place we can take Rocky for a day, two, or 10 and know he will be so well taken care of. The staff treat the dogs like their own and are always willing to help. Can't recommend this place enough!

Our dog LOVES the Barker Lounge. The grumpy old man turns into a puppy every time he sees where he is going for the day. Thanks to everyone at Barker Lounge for giving Gary a great place to visit.

I used them when I had to go out of town for work & they took great care of my two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Pit Hound mix. I could tell they had a lot of fun and I'll be sure to come here next time I'm out of town for work!
