I moved to Charlotte /Matthews area about 5 months ago and this veterinary clinic has saved my life! It took me about two other vet appts elsewhere to realize this was going to be “My VET” (lol). Dr.Michelle & Dr. Bart are the BEST! They are both very Thorough and knowledgeable when it comes to diagnosing, treating, and taking care of your animals. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and super gentle while delivering EXCELLENT customer service - they make it look easy :). You can feel the good energy soon as you walk into the doors… everyone has a pleasant face and looks happy to be there. That’s another must you need when going to your vet. I hate to see people working with bad attitudes while trying to help me. We all know how much anxiety & stress comes over us when our fur-children need care outside of our control… this clinic takes that worry away. While I could rant all day - I will simply end it with saying take your fur-babies to this vet you won’t leave disappointed. Also, if you ever meet some of their special techs give them a big thank you! They go above and beyond with keeping you in the loop and doing follow-up calls to check on your baby by their “name” and not just “your pet”. I want to thank Emily for always being kind and pleasant to work with. I look forward to chatting with her each time. I’ll recommend IVC to all my dog lovers… especially my bulldog parents!! Have been personally sweet and understanding of both my babies' needs.

Recently I was able to get my out of town son's dog, Jack, in for a specialized procedure - even tho I currently don't have an animal of my own. Their response was prompt and a source of trust that was greatly needed. I do have years of first hand experience with IVC and, as always, their care was professional and compassionate. Very grateful to know they are ready for me when my next dog comes home!

Moved to Charlotte & needed a new veterinarian asap for my senior dog - found Independence through glowing Nextdoor reviews & made an appointment, was able to get in very quickly with Dr. Melissa. Had a wonderful first visit, it’s clear this practice cares for our animals like they are their own. Dr. Melissa went out of her way to go through all current issues for my dog & was able to get him on a better medication & food regimen for his skin & she was very knowledgeable on helpful supplements to assist his health in aging & overall. My dog has to have sedation for nail trims/teeth cleaning & I was very impressed with their pre- & post-op care. I will be using them from now on. Previous practices had left my dog groggy, painful, & not quite himself after sedation - Independence made sure he was well taken care of, comfy, & safe. Thanks again.

Fit us in last minute, very kind staff

My dog hurt herself and needed to be seen. From the moment I called everyone was so kind and helpful. They got us in the same day and were able to start her on meds right away. The staff is top notch and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality, affordable veterinarian.

Very pleased. We just moved and hadn't needed any routine checks but our dog got a nasty hot spot. They were able to get me in the same day before it got any worse. The staff was very friendly and the service was professional. We will be taking all our pets here from now on.

I am new to the area and these kind ladies made me and my pet feel welcome right away. This will be where I take my pet Luke for any & everything he needs. I highly recommend !

Love the folks at Independence. Dr. Michelle is wonderful with my senior dog and I appreciate the thoroughness when it comes to answering all my questions. She will even follow up with emails after the exams when I have any concerns. The whole team is compassionate and attentive towards my dog at each visit.

I have been taking my rescue to a holistic vet since I have had her. After some treatments were making my dog sick and not truly working, I wanted to try and find a new vet to see if switching things up could help. I found Independence Veterinary Clinic on Google and decided to give them a try, and I am so thankful I did. Dr. Bart and Emily were so detailed, I learned more about the context behind my dog's results than I had in my years of visiting my previous vet. They are very specific about any side effects, possible symptoms, etc. I have not experienced such a detailed and compassionate facility as this and I am so grateful to have stumbled upon them. I will be back with my cat, too!

I was recommended to Dr. Michelle and the rest of the staff at IVC and boy am I glad I was! I am absolutely blown away with how incredible this vet is. I would suggest IVC to everyone and anyone. They truly treat your animals as if it were their own! Don't go anywhere else! I promise you won't regret it!

This is a wonderful clinic! Everyone I interacted with from the sweet lady answering the phone, the vet techs, the vet, Dr. Michelle Bryan was absolutely wonderful and continue to be! Dr. Bryan explained everything carefully, possible diagnosis, tests, treatment and costs which matter a lot when you are a senior on fixed income. My dog has been suffering with GI issues since early June and was seen by another vet in the Matthews area - do yourself a favor and go to Independence Vet Clinic FIRST!! I wish I had - my nerves and my poor dog's health would not have suffered so for two months! My dog has improved so much and hallelujah there is a treatment plan. I am confident that whatever problem my wonderful boy has, this clinic will be able to help him. I would definitely recommend this clinic to everyone I know! I am so grateful to them. Again - do yourself a favor go here first, you won't have to go anywhere else.

We love Independence Vet Clinic and wouldn’t trust anyone else to take care of our pets! Dr Melissa has been AMAZING in caring for our one dog with epilepsy and saved our cats life in an emergency. She has been great with all of our pets, past and present, and we are so lucky to have her caring for our family!

I wish I never use the vet services :)), but this is the place to bring my kitty for any help or just a regular check. Dr. Michelle is our veterinarian. The clinic is recently renovated and super pleasant.

I was so sad to leave my last vet and was worried about finding a vet as good when I moved to Charlotte. But IVC has surpassed all of my expectations, they went above and beyond to help easy my worries for my dogs dental cleaning. He has MDR1 so I was so concerned about the medications used for anesthesia. They updated me before he went under and called whenever he got out and was in recovery! More than happy with IVC and definitely a life long vet. Here are some derpy pictures of him when he was still groggy and waking up!

Had a great first visit! It was clear the staff and the doctor actually took the time to review previous records before coming into the exam room, which was always an issue with our last vet. Excited to start physical therapy at HealingPups soon!

Best vet clinic in Charlotte

Most amazing veterinary office there is! They really care about the animals here. When we had to have our beloved Benson put down they sent us a thoughtful card that really made us feel better! Highly recommend this office!
