Abbott Animal Hospital Rehoboth, Rhode Island

Family use to go here for years, until we had an issue with them. Took our Cockapoo in and was told by them she didn't have much longer to live at the age of 8 and there was nothing he could do. Decided to get a second opinion at Ocean State animal hospital and when he found out through them requesting her records he got really aggressive and refused to release anything to them. They diagnosed her with an intestinal issue and she lived a happy life to the age of 14 thanks to Ocean State.

We have been taking our family pets ( two dogs and three cats) to Abbott Animal Hospital for the past several years. We always have a good experience there, both with the medical care and professionalism. Thanks Dr. Gomaa!

Excellent care! I just had my third pet have major surgery here and they have always done a great job, especially with my special needs pets!

Not being allowed in with my dog leads to poor communication. I went for a rabies shot, $650 was not what I expected. They take the dog in, you wait outside and then they come out and $650 please. And also added another $20 for a tech fee????? Well I will not return

Please do not trust your animals with this practice! We have been bringing our German shepherd here for three years for regular care. We boarded him with Abbott two years ago while we were away for a week and when we came back from vacation we were presented with a bill that was $250 higher than the original charge. I was told that they gave him an exam and shots. The dog had his exam and shots two months prior. I paid the bill and continued to use this practice for semi annual checkups. We are taking another vacation today. I called Abbott two months ago to arrange for boarding and was given an estimate. I called two days ago to confirm the estimate. Today we arrived and were told that I would need to pay an additional $300 in advance for an influenza and kennel cough shots. They were attempting to strong-arm us. Consumer beware!!

I’m very disappointed in the turn this practice has taken. My family has been going to Abbott for about 17 years now and we’re finally taking our pets elsewhere. It doesn’t feel like the staff really cares about our pets anymore and only cares about the money (the pandemic and not being allowed inside certainly didn’t help the situation). But even since deciding to leave the practice, I’ve reached out multiple times to request my pets records and received no response. Which is annoying since the like ONE phone line is usually busy when I call to ask.

Good vet an excellent staff

I brought my dog here after she ate a tiny amount of rat poison and they took care of her immediately. She’s doing very well now and I couldn’t thank them enough. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet.

I must say, one of the best vet experiences I've had, from the responsiveness, to the availability of the DR to answer questions. All in all 10 / 10 in everything. You can tell they care about the animals under their care but also the owners. I personally drive over an hour to get to this vet, and i'd happily drive 3 hours to have them handle anything ever again. Did ACL surgery w/ stem cells and the recovery has been phenomenal.

okay, i can understand why some 1 star reviews saying "oh the vet is rude" but really have you really had a conversation with him? he has a rough exterior and you have to just understand how he really is. this place has been wonderful to me and my fur babies. when i lived with my mother my mother has 2 dogs and yes there kinda jerks *the dogs* and the vet was very patient esp when there's a language barrier because my parents don't speak english. he was very straight forward which i can respect he genuinely cares about his client and customers. ALSO i moved into my own place which is about almost an hour away and ill still go here with my NOW 2 kittens. honestly and genuinely thank you this staff is remarkable! i'll forever be coming here for my fur babies.

They are fantastic!!!! Simply the best!!!! Always the best care for my dog !!! Dr. Gomaa always answers the phone no matter what day/time. I wouldn’t trust my pets to anyone else!!

Cannot say enough of them! Saved my dog after being hit by a car. Went to the emergency room down the street and they wanted thousands of dollars before even seeing my dog. Called my friend and they told me they go to Abbott and they do emergency. Spoke directly to the doctor and he told me to come right down. He saw my dog without even asking for payment. Told me everything that was going and what needs to be done. No sugar coating or costing me unnecessary costs without compromising my dogs well being! A++++++!!! Thank you guys for caring. I still continue to use them and recommend everyone to them!

They dont care about pets. Just money...

They did an ok job on problems but not thorough enough during visits didn't usually listen to my cats heart,check his teeth and ears if I didn't ask. Ripped me off a number of times also! Beware,there are plenty of vets out there.

Terrible vet. 4 years ago he diagnosed my dog with grade 4 luxating patella on both hind legs and recommended surgery right away. After visiting another vet as well as an ortheopaedic specialist they both found only a grade 1 on one leg and recommended nothing be done. Since implementing an omega supplement there have been no other issues since. If you go there and they recommend surgery- GET A SECOND/THIRD OPINION!!!

Almost killed my cat.... charged by credit card twice and denied it even when i provided bank statements

Misdiagnosed my cat. Put my 14 year old cat through surgery which he should have known better. Also charged my bank card twice. Even after providing bank statements they refused to give credit. I had to get my bank involved to dispute the transaction for my refund. I would never come here again. BEWARE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

If you are looking for a vet, please call Abbott Animal Hospital! This week, they saved my 18 year old cat from kidney failure, and gave me more time with her ????It’s a family owned business, with father and son vets, they offer 24/7 emergency services, and are honestly the most reasonably priced vet I’ve ever encountered. Despite no longer living in Swansea, we still drive 45 minutes to go to this vet exclusively!

The young guy vet is nothing but arrogant and rude. Talks to you like your stupid and pretty much uses his employees. I would never go here or recommend anyone to them. Disgusted by them.

The Gomma's are fantastic and knowledgeable veterinarians! The office is always clean. I had an emergency with my poodle a few years back and they took her right away and it was very late at night. I can't say enough good things about them.

If you want a vet who does his job for the sake of the animals and their people this is the place.

This vet is wonderful. I have been going for quite sometime to them. Father and son are wonderful. I recently lost my little chihuahua, Angelo and they were so caring. I brought Angelo in without an appointment first thing in the morning, they had a patient in the exam room, they asked them to please wait in the waiting room and brought Angelo right in. The care and gentleness my dog was treated with was amazing. The doctor and staff were so kind to me in my time of grief. I honestly can't say enough about this wonderful vet and his caring staff.
