Dr. Lorenson attended a same day house call to put my Lhasa apso down that I had for 15.5 years. She was so compassionate and explained everything from start to finish. I wish I could repay her in some way for making the experience as special as it could be. During a huge Covid surge my entire family was able to say goodbye to our loving Jeter in the comfort of his own home. I can never thank you enough for your compassionate care. You are one special human! The amount of time and thought that went into the presentation of his paw prints and clay print is mind blowing. I’m so happy with everything and have wonderful memories to look back on. I can’t thank you enough.

Ive been to another vet before and they were not very gentle or caring. Like it was more of a business matter than care. Wickford vet clinic has been there since i was a kid, i brought my cat there and they were not only gentle and caring but they were respectful of both me and my cat. My cats pretty moody around other people and they were kind enough that she allowed them to pet her. I would highly recommend wickford vet clinic for all these reasons in addition to there very reasonable prices. 10/10

Caring and compassionate doc and staff

Competent, Compassionate & Professional I scheduled a home visit for my 2 cats who have a history of being fractious when it comes to any type of veterinary exams. I dosed each cat with 100 mg of Gabapentin about 2 hours prior to our appointment. Dr. Lorenson called about 15 minutes prior to her arrival to suggest I corral each cat into a bathroom ahead of time. This worked really well. When Dr. Lorenson and her assistant entered the apartment, they had everything they needed to ensure the visit would be successful and they operated as a highly successful team. They treated each cat with compassion and enabled them to remain fairly calm to administer their rabies vaccine. I was hopeful, but doubtful, they would be able to draw blood samples since they hadn't been tested for several years. However, they were able to do a thorough exam for both cats, and draw blood, in addition to administering the vaccines. I feel such a sense of relief to have found such a competent and compassionate vet for my 'furternal' twins and will continue working with Dr. Lorenson and the Wickford Vet Clinic for years to come for my cats (and hopefully other future furry children).

We started using Wickford Veterinary and Dr . Lorensen a little over a year ago and have always been very happy with their treatment and care for our Emmy. We find them kind, caring and always find them knowledgeable. Emmy loves everybody there!

My puppy saw Dr. Saslaw on an emergency basis for an eye puncture. Dr. Saslaw was excellent and scheduled a follow-up to check on the eye. Thanks to seeing Dr. Saslaw so promptly, my puppy's vision will be okay. Even though the vet industry is in a staffing crisis, WVC fit us in and did not make us feel rushed. I felt that the tech and Dr. Saslaw gave us their full attention. Dr. Saslaw even responded to my email on her day off to provide her opinion about a photo of my pup's eye. I have a friend who recently moved to the area and I recommended they take their cat to WCV. Great experience during a stressful incident.

Staff shared concerns about our pet and made an appointment available ASAP and used mobile visit to attend to our dog when we could not get her to clinic. Dr Lorenzo was very open and discussed many possible scenarios, made sensible recommendations and left us with a strong feeling of being committed to our pets health.

The doctors and staff are very professional and responsive. The office is very clean and orderly. They care about my dog and it shows every time we go to our appointments. My dog loves going to Wickford Vets because he knows they give him lots of attention and he can give them lots of kisses.

A few weeks ago, we put our senior dog to sleep and although a sad day, having the vet come to the home made the experience a peaceful one. I'm writing with a strong recommendation for this vet, Christina Lorenson at Wickford Veterinary Clinic. She was compassionate, carefully explaining everything she was doing thoroughly and calmly so we knew what to expect -- and allowing us as much time as needed to say good-bye.

Absolutely amazing! Their exotic specialist is an absolute angel. Even though I was unfortunately euthanizing my snake, she talked me through the whole thing. Kept me as calm as I could be, allowed me to hold him through out the process. I will definitely be going back in the future with whatever pets I may have. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, kind vets and staff.

It's taken me a while to post here because the reason I needed this facility was to make sure I was with my pup when we had to put her down during the pandemic. My Lexi was a 13 year old Bulldogge and it was her time....which of course, doesn't make that part any easier. My own vet would not allow me to be with her during euthanization, and that was not going to happen. Dr. Lorenson came to our home to help us with this. She and her staff were not only understanding, accommodating and amazing, they really showed they actually cared about me and my pup, as individuals, not just another person needing a service. I have and will recommend her and this facility to anyone I can. Truly the best experience I've ever had when having to say goodbye to a beloved pet, and I've been a dog mom for over 35 years. HIGHLY recommend!

They were very polite on the phone but couldn't give my sick parrot an appointment till the end of the month. He may not survive that long ????

They always do a great job. Friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Lorenson is very attentive and one of the best. I trust her completely with my kitties and their medical needs.

An amazing clinic!! The staff was incredibly friendly and took great care of my hamster. They even gave her a little treat because they had to do some lab testing! 10/10

We are not clients at this vet. However, we were looking for a vet who would perform in home Euthanasia for our beautiful lab with osteosarcoma, which is how we found this vet. The staff were super kind and patient with me as I sobbed on the phone. They were flexible and extremely considerate of our needs. The vet arrived exactly as she said she would. During the process, she was calm, thorough and kind, explaining every step carefully. She let us take our time and was considerate of the grieving process. I would definitely recommend this vet for in home euthanasia. The experience is horrific, but definitely made better by doing it at home and with a compassionate person present. I am very grateful.

I absolutely love this place. I've personally met one of the owners of the clinic and she's an absolute angel and such a sweetheart. Everyone there cares so much about animals and they're so reliable when it comes to getting the best care for your pets. Wickford is pretty much the only place in RI that does spaying/neutering for rabbits reliably and made sure my bunny got the best care, kept me updated, and gave me reassurance of his wellbeing during his visit. They gave me honey flavored medication for his pain, which apparently is delicious based on his excitement to take it, and gave me easy instructions on when/how to give it. When I took my bunny, Nani, in for a checkup visit, they provided me with many resources for how to improve care and suggestions on a proper diet, something I've never been given by other vet clinics. The people there are extremely knowledgeable in almost every pet you could possibly bring in to be seen, making it also one of the most diverse pet clinics in the area. I couldn't recommend Wickford more. I live about 45 minutes away from them but it's so worth it for the quality of care and knowledge that Wickford provides. Once again, I really can't recommend them enough.

I love this place! Been bringing my 3 animals here for years. They’re very good about getting them in quickly when they are sick, their prices are fair, and all of the staff is amazing. They even went so far as to find me jumper cables and someone to jump me once when my car battery died while i was there for an appointment. Best vets I have found in the state.

I brought my sugar glider to this vet and now I will never go anywhere else. Everything from the initial phone call right through to meeting the Vet herself was a pleasure. It is very hard to find a knowledgeable exotic vet with reasonable prices. To have found one that meets all the above criteria AND is friendly and caring is really something special. The unexpected bonus was that she runs on time! No waiting at all. My only regret is I wish I knew about them sooner. I highly recommend Wickford Vet. They are a perfect combination of professional, caring and fair. I will be a client for life now with all my sugar gliders. A+++

This is the second time I have had to call Wickford Vet and ask them to please come to my home and lay my babies to rest. Dr. Christina Lorenson, is one of the most compassionate people I have met. She understands the needs of the family and more importantly she understand the needs of our animals. She is a beautiful soul with such a bright light. Not to mention the awesome staff that quietly and patiently waited as I cried on the phone trying to explain what I needed. Outrageous and always looking for an opportunity charge you more

Dr. Lorenson have been taking care of our dogs for several years. She is very compassionate, gentle, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our dogs are rescued and required lots of patience, she can handle them so well and with so much kindness!! Her staff is friendly, professional and kind. Her Vet Technician Wendy is one of a kind and so are all the others. She also performs house calls which comes really handy for one of our dogs who's really nervous about riding in the car. She took really good care of our elderly dog that unfortunately passed away 2 years ago at age 17. She came to see him at the house multiple times and showered him with kindness and care. One of our chihuahuas is very reactive and she handles her perfectly fine and very gently. She performed a tooth extraction and dental cleaning on her two years ago and that also went very smoothly. I will be forever grateful for all the compassion she shows to our furry family and I highly recommend her.
