I love everything about this animal hospital. They are definitely there for your pet. I love the treatment my very scared and nippy chihuahua gets. So patient and caring. Thank you to everyone at Cumberland Animal Hospital for what you do for my babies and putting up with their crazy Mom.

I just want to thank Dr Susan Rochette and her staff for the compassion they showed me when my Felix passed away suddenly. She answered all my questions on why this happen. Also we have Felix’s brother Oscar who I am concerned about, what we can do for him because of his loss of his buddy. The last thing is the tech who came out and got Felix, thank you, we heard u talking with Felix as you took him away!!!!!

Caring staff. I like how the vet tech and the vet come into the room together. This way you don't have to repeat yourself.

I take both my dogs to Dr. Susan Rochette here. There is absolutely no question her main focus is is the health and wellness of my pets. Every time I go there she always explains what she’s doing and also compares the last visit to the current visit keeping me a well informed pet owner. She is willing to answer any and all questions, even the ones from my 8 year old daughter who now says she want to be a vet because of Dr. Rochette. I can’t recommend this practice, especially Dr. Rochette, enough!

I've had many dogs in my life, I've been to many vets, and I WILL say CUMBERLAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL and Dr. Weed are by far "THE BEST".....I HAVE ONE DOG I couldn't take to any vet and Dr. Weed became a true angel...the care, compassion and professionalism is something so many vets lack because they treat it like a business and completely forget why they decided to help a life.....thats what seperates CUMBERLAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL from all others...thank you for all you've done for my pack!

The vets are very knowledgeable and take plenty of time to explain everything. The whole staff has gone above and beyond during the pandemic. Our dog is a nervous Nellie, but loves everyone there!

Cumberland Animal Hospital is a great place with friendly & educated Staff. We take our cats there & have for the past 25 years. The team is compassionate & knowledgeable. Since Covid 19, Pet owners have to wait in the car. The Techs come out & get our furbabies then the doctor who examined our pet calls on the cell phone to discuss the findings. They are very good at explaining treatments, tests, cost, etc. I would highly recommend CAH to anyone. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

Edited post: At our second visit, I was informed that they had read my review and were making the necessary changes so that this doesn't happen again. There should be a form for you to sign beforehand outlining what vaccines would be received. Which is helpful in keeping pet owners in the loop and being able to make sure nothing is being done without your consent. At the third visit, we didn't receive the form (not sure why). However, the tech that came out to get my pup read out what he was due for and asked if I had any questions. I guess that works too, but I'd prefer that there be some documentation to protect everyone involved. Hopefully, that was a fluke that day, and they've continued with the form. I've increased the rating I had for them from 2 stars to 4 stars. Don't get me wrong, I'm usually very happy with the service we get here. It was just a really bad first visit for my pup. I'm glad to see that they're trying to make improvements given the situation we're all dealing with in this pandemic. Original post: I have usually had very good experiences here, but I hadn't been here since COVID started, until a couple of weeks ago. We just got a new pup since ours passed suddenly in March 2020. He had already had most of his shots and a full health check prior to us picking him up from my sister's house in CO. First of all, when I called to make an appt for him to get his last distemper and to start getting his lyme, they INSISTED on seeing him asap (even though he had just gone to the vet in CO the week prior, for a health certificate for traveling, his dose of the distemper vaccine, and the rabies vaccine). Even my sister thought that was odd and she works at a dog rescue and fosters dogs, as well. But whatever. Anyway, I emailed over his records prior to his appt. When we got there, we had to wait in the parking lot due to COVID and we weren't permitted to go in with him and our cat that needed a check up and her rabies shot. I specifically told the girl that came out to get our animals that our pup had just gotten his distemper and his rabies the week before and did not need them again. I even asked if they needed his records again (which I brought, just in case). She said they had the records I emailed and said that he'd only be getting lyme for that visit. Well... after a bit, the vet called and said they were all set and went through the check up with me and then proceeded to tell me that they gave my puppy his distemper shot!! I almost lost it. I told her that he had already gotten it last week. She goes back to look at the records and just says, "oops." They didn't charge me for it, which I guess is fine, but I was worried if this would affect my dog negatively. He's a very tiny dog so I know his vaccines need to be space out. My last dog died after a visit to the vets over at Ocean State (Granted, he had a pre-existing condition that they were trying to help fix. It was supposed to be a routine appt. But I wasn't allowed in there at the time either due to COVID, so I don't know what they did to him. All I know is that he became distressed on the way home and he died in my husband's lap as I was trying to race back to the vet office). Needless to say, I'm having flashbacks to that terrible experience. Now the part that irritates me about this whole ordeal, is that the vet didn't bother to call first when she didn't immediately see that he was up to date on his shots. I'll partly blame this on the fact that we're all living through COVID and we can't accompany our pets during their appts. I completely understand that. But, for crying out loud, call the pet owners first before you give out shots!! I would have given no stars if this was the only experience I've had with Cumberland Animal Hospital, but we have been using them for our cat and for a our last dog and they were great. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident. We plan on taking our pup back there tomorrow, but with a different vet.

The staff at Cumberland animal hospital have been outstanding especially with a pandemic going on. As much as I hated having to sit in the car I knew our babies were in safe, kind, loving and healing hands. Our youngest Ian become heart worm positive late November. This required many trips to the hospital over the past few months and every time we got there Ian would just be so excited to see his friends. So thank you to All the staff for helping our boy get better!! There’s a reason we take all our animals to the amazing animal hospital.
