Do not have enough exotic animal vets and should not be called a hospital.

This week I returned home from work to find my cat in crisis. He was yelling in pain and unable to use his back legs. I was turned away by my normal vet(now my former vet) and told to "call around" as they were open but had no doctor there? and it was a few hours before the emergency hospital in Watsontown opened for the evening. Loyalsock Animal Hospital was my first call, and although they were busy, and I had never taken an animal there, they told me to come immediately. Unfortunately my cat had to be euthanized, but I knew that was the likely outcome due to my cat's age and health issues. Dr. Knoebel and the entire staff that I dealt with were very compassionate, helpful and professional.

Over my many years of fur baby ownership I have ran the gambit of veterinarians in our local area, I personally have met the most considerate group of animal lovers. Dr. Thomas Knoebel helped me through the hardest thing that any animal lover has to go through. He was gentle, kind, compassionate for me and for my elderly old girl. I truly believe he was not dry eyed as he assisted my girl to the Rainbow Bridge. This man is a God send not only with my girl, but I am now taking my son's animals to see the doctors in this practice and the rest of my crew as well. So far I have had the pleasure to meet several of the other doctors and the staff have shown nothing but prompt attention to my and my animals needs. I would and will recommend this practice to anyone who loves their animals as much as I love each and everyone of mine. Just an exceptional practice with exceptional personal.

Brought a cat there as everyone else was booked. They saw the cat quoted me 400-450. Final bill was 586. And had to waitc45 minutes after seeing Dr. After cat's surgery. Would still be waiting in the room as he never brought her chart to the front desk.

While I lived in Williamsport, may family took our pets to this location. Most of the staff were great to deal with. When my last pet died during the start of Covid, they were kind enough to let me remove my mask to kiss my fur baby goodbye. If I still lived in the area and had pets I would would go here. I highly recommend.

So I called them and simply told them what my gecko was and they didn’t even let me ask them about her to make sure she is okay they told me I have to call around to different places because they didn’t have any exotic appointments. I was simply asking what I should do for my gecko not asking for an appointment and the lady denied me. Not to mention on the website for this hospital it says they take exotics. Nothing like lying to someone just for them to go onto your website and see a whole page dedicated to exotics and how you have a highly trained team for exotics. Kinda funny isn’t it?

My cat wasn’t doing so good and I didn’t know what was happening. I noticed he wasn’t breathing so I took him to the closet place near me which was this hospital, it was during after hours but it was clearly an emergency. I start pounding on the door and there’s another girl in scrubs in there and she didn’t open the door for me and just walked away. My cat was dying on the porch outside of the hospital, when someone finally got to see my cat, he was already gone. The vet that examined him was very nice and I know he was doing his best and I appreciate him, he was nice enough to not charge us for the autopsy, and got it back to us the next day. Rip Binx, you’ll be missed baby boy.

We had an emergency with our dog having uncontrollable vomiting. Called for an emergency appointment and they couldn't get me a spot. Lady was rude over the phone. Ended up going elsewhere. Absolute joke of a "hospital".

I won’t take my pets anywhere else! I’ve had my kitty taken care of as well as my two guinea pigs. The doctors are knowledgeable about domestic as well as exotic pets and the entire staff is kind, caring, and professional. When having to make the extremely tough decision to have my one guinea put to sleep after many months of treatment, they did everything in their power to make an otherwise heartbreaking situation into a positive experience (they even made a mold of his paw print for me and sent me a card signed by the whole staff in memory of my Lemmy boy). I highly recommend this veterinarian.

The employees are nice and good at what they do. On several occasions they have been pushy in optional things to do, which can be frustrating. Had a dog spayed and they ended up also removing teeth without consent and charging for that. In other words, make sure you are very clear what you want done and explicitly tell them not to do anything else. Apparently, it is a reasonable thing to do to perform additional tasks without your consent and charge for them. Edit: Due to the response for Loyalsock Animal Hospital I am raising the rating. Recognizing mistakes and performing corrective action is part of a good business.

Our dog got away from me to chase a truck and was hit the day after t’giving. We brought Barkley to Loyalsock and they made us feel like we were in good hands immediately. They assessed him in our car then put us in a room quickly. The doc was in shortly, asked all pertinent info and then explained the recommended procedures and what we could expect. A staff member gave us an estimate of the cost. Dr Adams was very kind and thorough. We left Barkley there and were in an out in less than an hour. We were able to return that evening to bring him home. They followed up the following morning to see how he was doing. I am very very grateful for loyalsocks attentiveness, professionalism and ability to move us through the process quickly and thoroughly. Along with excellent care for our dear pup, the cost was fair and reasonable.

Our family has used Loyalsock Animal Hospital for over ten years for a total of five cats (one a foster) and two rabbits. Our local no-kill cat shelter uses LAH and recommended them to us after we had a bad experience with another practice in the area and needed a second opinion. They were able to completely resolve a medical issue that the other vet said would be incurable. We completely trust LAH with our pets and have referred others there. The veterinarians are very interested in keeping up to date on veterinary advancements, techniques, and medications. For example, they have recently created some in-house testing capabilities uthat get faster and more comprehensive results at a better price than sending it out to a lab. They also know when it’s appropriate to refer a case to a specialist to get advanced help. We now have three cats over age 15 and they’re helping keep them healthy into old age. We’ve also two pets peacefully euthanized through the practice and they were very compassionate. We can’t recommend LAH more highly.

So we first found this vet after our little dog was struck by a car. Our vet that we used at the time told us there was no veterinarian on duty at the time, and it would be better to go someplace else. Loyalsock Animal Hospital was located closest to us so we called to see if they could see our dog. Not knowing us, or our dog, they had staff waiting for us at the back door and rushed him in right away. It blew my mind away at the level of service offered to someone who just came off the street! Since then we have made the switch, and they see all of our animals regularly. Just a few weeks ago, our shepherd ate a mushroom that was growing wild outside. She became very ill and was stumbling around. Immediately we contacted Loyalsock Animal Hospital, on a Sunday, and Dr. Adams was on the phone with us in 5 mins. After explaining the situation she gave us the option to see an emergency care clinic, or the option for her to come into the office and see our dog. We chose the latter and im glad we did. Our dog had life threatening reaction to the mushrooms. She gave us options with her recommendations, and walked us through everything she was doing, and what needed to be done. As we learned that a higher level emergency care clinic was not available for a few hours, she offered to take over care for her, coming in at different hours to administer meds as needed. They always kept us updated on her condition whenever we asked, told us when tests were going to be run amd when to call to get results, and allowed us to set up visits with our dog while she was recovering. Three days later our dog was home with us and on the path to recovery. She is still alive because of Dr. Adams and the staff at LAH. Everyone there is kind, courteous, and is an example of how a hometown vet should be run. Thank you guys and gals!

The Vets and the staff are wonderful. My Lily was just spayed there last week and everyone was professional and caring. All of my questions were answered clearly. Dr. Brink did a beautiful job on the surgery and the stitches were flawless. Lily loves everyone there, which is extremely important to me. Thank you all for taking great care of my girl!

The entire staff is wonderful! I have been using their services for over 20 years. Recently my cat was diagnosed with terminal cancer. It was a very unexpected diagnosis for us and for the doctor as well. Dr Jeremy was so compassionate and sympathetic when he told me that Theo only had 2-4 weeks to live. When the end was evident and it was time to help Theo cross the Rainbow Bridge, Dr Jeremy was once again very compassionate. He made a difficult decision a little easier for me.

I have a pet rabbit and it was very hard to find a vet that would treat him. It turned out he had a broken leg and they were fabulous with him. Great care and communication!

They are so caring. They took such good care of my maltese after her spaying. I called with questions and they didn't hesitate to get me an answer. The only thing that makes me sad is they don't have 24 hour emergency service anymore. I wish they still did, but guess I understand how hard it is.
