Dr John and the staff relate to our dogs very well. They explain procedures clearly, and their fees are very competitive. We highly recommend Heston Veterinary Medical Center!

This is the 1st veterinary office that we took our pug, Bella, to that she didn't hold her breath and turn blue while having her nails trimmed. So even though they are an hour from our house we will be going back to have her nails trimmed and for other care. Thank you for taking such good care of our babygirl!

We have been taking our animals to Heston for just shy of a year now. They have been wonderful at taking care of our animals. They have done routine check ups/physicals, emergency tooth extractions, and a spay and neuter for our herd. Dr. Ludwig has helped us to understand our pets' health and the best options for them. The vet techs and office staff are always super friendly, even when it is crazy busy. We would highly recommend them to others.

Staff really listens to concerns and is sure to address the underlying issues as well as managing the symptoms to ensure your pet is comfortable. Prices seem very reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. Whether you reach out via email or call, they are very responsive and even fill prescriptions same day for you to get your pet feeling their best right away. Very efficient covid protocols as well.

Just moved to the area and I've had a decent experience taking my boy to Heston Vet. I cook for him and he has had problems eating stuff off the ground so we got him on some mineral supplements and I have seen improvement in this regard.

First time here today & I couldn’t be happier! Staff was very friendly and the veterinarian ensured I understood exactly what my puppy needed. After hours I had a small worry/question & they immediately addressed it. I would recommend this place to everyone!

We just moved to PA this year did not have a vet. Was referred to Dr. Heston by my son and daughter in law after there 5 star visit with their there dogs. I am so glad that they sent us here. Although we have not had a chance to officially meet face to face due to covid restrictions, Dr. Heston was very personable and took the time to listen to all of our dog Molly's problems, addressed each one and she is back to normal. Thanks so much Dr. Heston and staff for taking care of Molly and my sons three dogs and for making us feel like family. We are sending my younger son in with his puppy!

We have a two year old rescue pup that we used to take to another vet facility. We were very unsatisfied with the level of care and compassion they had for our pets after every visit. When our dog broke a tooth, we were desperate to find a new quality vet who cared. We were referred to Heston and they were willing to schedule an appointment for us rather quickly. The doctor called me (covid precautions) during the appointment to discuss everything and make sure we had the chance to express any and every concern we had for our dog. The conversation was to the point yet thorough, the plan of care was explained well, and most of all, there was genuine compassion and concern for our dog. We have found our new vet! Highly recommend!

Ordered prescription medication on line. Like always, I selected the prescription be requested from Heston by the pharmacy. Heston refused to fax a prescription. Said it’s their new policy to provide only a written one for us to pick up and we’d have to provide it to the pharmacy. In this day and age, they have a new policy that creates in-person contact, inconvenience and a paper trail. Made sure to tell us they sell the medication hoping we’d opt to pay a higher price for the convenience. We opted not to pay their markup. Also don’t buy into their scare tactics that online pharmacy sell bootleg merchandise. Another way to convince you to pay their markup.

I drive to Dr. Ludwig from Baltimore because I know my dog won't get better care anywhere else. Dr. Ludwig and his staff are personable, professional, and patient focused. This is a vet that truly loves what he does. Go here if you want better care and better prices.

First time visit and we're happy with the service. Dr Ludwig is very nice ans not pushy. Prices are good too. Can't wait for covid to be over so we can meet in person.

Took my dog for ear problems. Everyone was nice but was disappointed with treatment. Vet said dog had hair ball deep in his ears. Instead of removing it, he said to have groomer remove it. She is the one that referred me to him. Why did I pay him $175 to tell me to go back to my groomer?

Doctor and staff amazing. Goes out of way to explain and accommodate need of pets and families. Left another vet whom I had been with for 13 years to come here. I will be moving my 3 and 2 cats here.

In the last week of October, I had brought both my dog and my cat into their office for initial first exams. My dog suffers from severe separation anxiety, and my cat was experiencing signs of a URI, and nerve issues in his one eye. Dr. Ludwig had informed me that he was prescribing treatment for the URI, an ear infection caused by the URI, and stated that the eye is likely bothered because of the infection so gave me a cream for it. When I received the call regarding the 10-day follow-up, I was asked specifically about the coughing/wheezing, and told I did not need to return since he was feeling better. I was not asked about his eye. The lack of acknowledgement to my cat's eye had me assuming it wasn't of high importance. I saw it as them being the medical experts, and I am just the owner. (Important for part of the review: I was having financial struggles for this appointment. Their office is NOT accommodating whatsoever. They do not accept Care Credit, you cannot make payment over the phone, you cannot do split payments, you must do payment completely in full right away on one payment card. They tried to turn me away 4 separate times even after I said I would make one full payment on one card). A couple weeks later, my cat started coughing and wheezing again. I called Nov 23rd. I needed a refill of my dog's medications, and I needed an appointment for my cat. They were going to provide me with an urgent appointment that day. I worked during this time. I had informed them that due to me working, and my fiancé was at home pending a COVID test, we were unable to bring him in. They recommended the hospital. I took my cat to the hospital to find out that he had an ulcer in his eye, and I was faced with about $1100 worth of just diagnostic testing. This is the same eye that Dr. Ludwig chose not to investigate further, and chose not to stress much importance on. A few days went by, and I had not received a call back from Heston regarding my dog's medication. I figured they would be closed on Thanksgiving, so I chose to call again Friday. I left a voice message. I received no callback, and had to call again this past Tuesday. They had completely forgotten to refill my dog's medication. My dog went over a week without his medication. When I finally was able to get the medication refilled, I raised a formal complaint to the staff that had taken my payment information. They had Dr. Ludwig return my call. I explained my frustration with the forgetfulness of my dog's medication, and I explained why I felt my cat's symptoms were dismissed. Dr. Ludwig at this time accused me of not showing up for the 10-day follow-up. The 10-day follow-up that was never scheduled because I was told it wasn't necessary if he wasn't wheezing/coughing. He asked me how he can resolve the issue. I informed him that there really wasn't anything that can be done, unless he planned on offering me discounted rates. At this time, Dr. Ludwig had said he could and stated that my pet's "whole health is what is most important". I disagreed given that despite even stating I could make a complete full payment on one card in person, they still attempted to turn me away. Dr. Ludwig accused me of attempting to send "my boyfriend to the urgent appointment when he had COVID and would expose it to their office". I became absolutely confused, and highly frustrated at this. My fiance wasn't positive, he was pending test results, that were later negative. I am the one who declined the urgent appointment, NOT their office. I would NEVER actively try to expose someone else to COVID, and that is a HUGE accusation to make. People are being arrested for that. You can only imagine how absolutely livid I was becoming at such a serious accusation. Dr. Ludwig said "there seems to be a BIG miscommunication between our office and you", and I agreed that his staff were not relaying proper information if this was the case. Dr. Ludwig accused me up false information, and failed to acknowledge that they also completely forgot about my dog during this time too.
