We had an emergency with our pup and they were quick to accommodate. They walked us through all processes and kept in contact at every step. They are expensive - but worth every penny. They saved our pups life and kept us calm during the whole ordeal.

I owe absolutely everything to Hickory Vet for saving my Pawly who needed emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage! They were absolutely amazing through this traumatic event!!! I will most definitely be taking my dog here from now on!

Very good experience. Brought a foster dog in for exam and vaccines when other practices were scheduling weeks out. Was happy with service and will continue with this practices for this dog. Good appointment follow up emails and invoices. Nice staff. Glad to have another good vet practice in the area.

They were very friendly. They got us in right away. We had a pet emergency. They did update us a few times. They got really busy, so our wait time was pretty long. It is very expensive ! We were told $350, then they must've done some other tests that they didn't tell us prior to the cost of tests, because our bill was over $1100. Gave us medicine, which added to the cost . I gave 4 stars because the cost was super expensive.

My wife and I are truly grateful for the doctors and staff at Hickory Veterinary Hospital. They did a tremendous job of caring for our baby, Hazel! I would highly recommend Hickory Veterinary Hospital!

Hickory Veterinary Hospital has taken care of my dogs for over 30 years, and I have nothing but the highest praise for the quality of their care, and the knowledgeable doctors and staff. Whatever ailment my dogs have presented over the years, there has been a highly qualified specialist able to make an accurate diagnosis and plan a treatment protocol. My dogs always wag their tails when they go there, and happily walk off with the veterinary nurses! Thank you , Hickory, for peace of mind.

Wonderful facility! We recently brought our dog here to an emergency vet visit. She was bit by another dog on a walk. Hickory Vet was so wonderful with her and had us in and out in about an hour for an emergency evaluation and antibiotics. Everyone from their receptionists to their vet techs and their vet was wonderful. They seamlessly set us up with everything we needed to go home for our follow up. Our dog is doing well, and they gave us such great peace of mind. Would definitely go back there if needed!

Great vet team! The look after my cat really well and make good suggestions to keep him healthy (he is 14 and still has the energy of a kitten).

We visited this hospital today and were 5 min late. They said they'll have to charge an emergency visit because we were late. In my opinion, charging extra $57 for being 5 min late is a bit too much. Considering we had to wait for the vet for 20 min after we've arrived. We could stay as patients, but can't - the vet is too greedy.

The care provided for both of my pets was excellent. I am very satisfied. This will be our veterinarian from now on.

Great care but a bit expensive. Had to put down my cat at 17yo. We were using a different vet that was flooded out during Ida. We ended up needing emergency care. Euthanasia with a diagnostic blood draw came to $690. Care was excellent though and the team was really helpful in making tough decisions.

Only vet that didn't turn me down during an emergency. Says a lot about those that say they accept emergencies.

Most unprofessional vet my family has experienced and we’ve had animals for 50+ years. There main concern billing you for multiple visits and up-charging for medicines that are available over the counter for <1/2 their price. Very sad…..

My experience started off very good but a couple days later I was called and my cat wasn't getting better and I said for a visit that cost $435.00 I was expecting it to help more could you please have someone call back, I was promised to get a back quickly that day, that was over 5 days ago and still no call back. I was hoping this was going to be the 'place' to go to but a little more expensive than I thought and terrible call back skills. The employees were all very kind here but was let down with the price and terrible return call back help. Maybe I Will try again but not going to hold my breath.

I'm not one to usually leave reviews, especially not bad ones.. However beware if you're going to take your pet here. I have been trying to get a issue resolved for over 2 weeks now to no avail. Near impossible to hear back from anyone when I've called the office multiple times and sent a lengthy email and still nothing. My cat had a fecal exam almost 2 weeks ago, I called for results multiple times and was finally able to get some sort of information from a woman at the front desk over the phone. She was extremely vague and said she could only say "he tested positive for a parasite but she can't tell me which one until the vet gets in contact with me" for context that happened on 9/16 and the vet didn't email me the results of the exam until 9/23. on 9/16 after being told he tested positive for something, and not being able to know what, I rushed my cat to a different vet hospital to get him checked out as I didn't know how serious the situation might be and I surely didn't want to wait to find out. my cat ended up being fine, not having any sort of parasite per the other vet hospitals discovery. Overall I feel as though hickory vet sincerely did not take the time to address my concerns during the overall wellness exam and they sure as hell were in no rush to tell me when they supposedly found something wrong with him. when the vet brought my cat back after the exam he even used the words that he was "traumatized" Beware taking your kitties here... I wouldn't want the same thing that happened to me to happen to someone else.

Don't take your pets to Hickory Veterinary Hospital. Charlie was bit by a dog earlier today and was checked out by our regular vet. They cleaned her up and sent her home with antibiotics. We noticed it was still bleeding a couple hours later and took her to the closest vet to us to get looked at which was Hickory. 2.5 hours later, Charlie came out dripping blood. They gave her an anti-inflammatory and told us to just put a warm compress on it. No answers about why she was bleeding so much more and were snappy when we tried to get more information.

The worst experience I’ve ever had in any industry. My dog had emergency surgery 10-8-21 and I was there from 6pm -1am and that’s understandable. However, I was never offered hospitalization and as a single father with a full tile job the after care became more apparent our first night back home. Come Monday … she will not have the care she will need.. we called back the day after .. got a quote for boarding for 92$ per night and drive the hour to Hickory. Filled out all the paper work my pup was taken into the back and just as I was about the processed the manger calls upfront said it’s not 92 a night it’s 250…. I said that wasent the quote .. the manager at building was condescending and talks like she is better then everyone in the room. I simply said I don’t like how you are talking to me .. and said everyone here but you has been helpful .. she says “ well I can help you more than anyone I’m the manager.” She then proceeds to say “ I’m bringing your dog out and you can both leave ..after agreed to pay the over adjusted quote .. that’s right she took my poor pup and has one of the desk workers bring her out to me and said we are gonna have to ask you to leave sir….. what a joke this place is…. The managers behavior was disgraceful.. throwing a puppy out because of their own bad business.. shame on the place!!

UPDATE: Found out from a different vet that they gave my cat the wrong medication!! Also not one to leave reviews, but here we are! Made me wait 4 hrs to tell me absolutely nothing I didn’t already know. Plus…somehow all the people who came after me..left before me? Charged me $500 to waste my entire day for what..bloodwork..? Seemed to be some kind of unfair treatment. Spoke to me very degradingly as if I harmed my beautiful cat, and as though I can’t take care of one. This is a cat that was adopted, which I had gone through references and phone calls to be qualified and approved. Not even my first cat. The other owner cat owner in the lobby had left their kitten unattended and was harmed, AND the customer didn’t know how often to feed their cat… yet, they were golden stars!! Told them their cat is adorable and that there’s nothing they did wrong. Meanwhile they talk to me like I’ve been abusing my cat. Extremely rude. Not a great Sunday morning experience for a worried cat owner. Don’t go here. I only came here because our Banfield hospital isn’t open on the weekends for emergencies.

Hickory is a high quality Vet practice that comes with a high price tag. If you can afford it go for it. If cost is an issue look somewhere else. Hickory pet Inn is a more reasonably priced part of the practice and the quality of care is still top notch.
