Caring about animals is in his DNA. My cat mocha was so sick and he didn't give up on him. Mocha is doing better every day. Thank you Dr. Kathio.

Took my cat here in 2020 and he got the help he needed. Took him back on July 4th 2021. My cats kidney were gone and he did everything he can. And everyone saying it's the money, it's not. But the procedure he does is not as much money as most places. He has a heart and loves the animals he helps. Although my Yackson wasn't gonna make it DOC stayed by his side until I can see him and make the final call. My forever vet I'll go to.

There are no words to describe this man and his assistant jayme❣❣❣ together they saved my fur baby Penelope and I am forever grateful for these two wonderful people ❤ you guys mean more to me then you know ❤ I 100% recommend this vet to anyone in need ❤ ???? ???? b

Dr Kathio is a God sent ,,we called him for an emergency with our pregnant cat he didn't once hesitate to say bring her right away for emergency surgery to save her and one of her babies I'm ever so thankful for his live and caring ways for animals.

I called Dr. Kathio inquiring on a spay & shots for my 4 month old kitten & I was in the next day for her surgery! Dr. Kathio was very kind and accommodating and his Vet tech/Secretary is in College to become a Veterinarian herself! The price for visit/procedure/rabies shots was extremely fair and cheapest compared to the two other clinics I called. Dr. Kathio even gave my kitten other suggested booster immunizations free of charge! Dr. Kathio kept my kitten overnight after her procedure and the tech/secretary went to the hospital about 11pm to check on my girl & even text me a photo of her with an update! ???? Dr. Kathio is a very busy, hardworking man (long hours!). Thats all he does is work at the Pittston and Wilkes-Barre Hospital, as well as the Hospitals he’s helped build in his native country of Pakistan! He is a good man & veterinarian! Per other reviews of him being “rude,” just know he’s a great veterinarian, whom works ALL day into the night and does alot of emergency & volunteer work. Humans get cranky too.

Highly recommended this animal hospital..very fair with prices and they really care about your pet.

I would not make an appointment with this place ever again. We made an appointment for our dog for a neck injury. The day of the appointment we called to see how we get the dog in the office due to Covid19 and Kathio got on the phone and told us he can’t see our dog and he needs to go to a neurologist in New York. Our appointment was made days prior so was he going to charge us to see our dog just to tell us he won’t treat him?!?!? Why even make an appointment if you knew you couldn’t treat him?!?!? We could have made an appointment someplace else!!!! Our regular vet passed away so we didn’t know where to take the dog. Glad we didn’t find out after getting there or it would not have been a good time !!!!

I see all these people saying all he cares about is money. I had an emergency today. I called they got me right in within 4 hours, not being a previous client. Went there found out that my cat needed surgery which was going to be around $500 or more. Right before the holidays and after me basically being laid off because if Covid. Dr Kathio basically cut the price in half for me so I could afford it. Ive never had a bad experience with him and I recommend him a thousand times over. Those who said he hates females, I'm a female and he has female workers. THANK YOU DR KATHIO!

We have skinny pigs, and it's hard to find a veterinarian that will see these little guys. I couldn't find a vet to see her for over a week! And she had a serious injury. Dr. Kathio told me to bring her in that day, he was kind and assured me that having to leave Delilah there would be ok. I called to check on her later and he himself answered and too the time to let me know she's doing just fine. When my husband and I came back to pick her up his assistant, Amy, was so nice, and they really took their time explaining the injury to me. They went through each x-ray with us, and they truly enjoyed having Delilah in their veterinary hospital. Dr. Kathio will ABSOLUTELY be our skinny pigs veterinarian going forward!

Dr Kathio saved my cats life. I have great respect for him and would highly recommend him.

Dr. Kathio and his wonderful girls were there when I needed them! Found a stray kitten that should've still been with its mother. No one in the back mountain would even see it. They came to my rescue and I'll be there for the long run now! They showed me how important one tiny little kitten was to them in their all ready crazy, busy day! What a hard working, compassionate bunch of animal lovers!

He is 100% the BEST veterinarian you can possibly find..

This doctor is extremely rude! I simply called to see about getting updated shots for my dog. He automatically told me that I need to go in Monday morning and speak to somebody else for an appointment. When I said well I am not sure about that he asked me what what in the world was my problem. I said I just want to get prices because I don't have a lot of money. In which he responded, "Well then go somewhere else because we don't give prices" and hung up on me! SHADY! if I could rate a 0, I would have!

Dont take your dogs here!!!!!

Just got a new puppy and no veterinarian in area would see him. Was told not accepting new patients due to covid. Dr. Kathio was happy to see my puppy on very short notice due to needing an appt within 72 hrs of his arrival. Very compassionate, answered all my questions, and his office hours are very accommodating. Thank you for caring my new baby????

(I am posting this from my wilkes barre review for hos location there for how upset I am) Critical: Professionalism This just happened. Took my cat in on a Friday for a cough. Was given 2 shots. Was told to come back Monday. Costed 124$ My cat was doing much better so I called at 8:30 as directed by the staff to let them know if I was coming. Doc picks up the phone. I didn't want to bring the cat in since it was 50$+ AND he was already doing much better. I ask if I can bring him in if the symptoms come back then he got aggresive. I said I wanted to wait and he said "Then never come back here" Wow

Absolutely positively amazing man and staff! Right now he is doing his best to save the life of my nieces 12 yr old dog. The man definitely cares about animals and the feelings of their owners.

Dr. Kathio has been nothing short of awesome to us. With our tight work schedules, he always has time to squeeze us in last minute. He takes the time to make sure you know what you're paying for, as well as making sure you understand why he's doing it. He doesn't rush you out the door, and will take what you say into consideration. My experience is that it is best to see him in person, it's hard to talk over the phone. He will be the only vet we see from now on.

I didn't even want to give 1 star to this rude, disrespectful person! I brought my dog to him 3 times for a skin condition...The 3rd time (because my puppy was in discomfort) the dog snapped at him (the doctor) & we were very impolitely kicked out & told not to come back! How can you be a Vet & not have a muzzle?!!? Also, he seems to dislike women & his receptionist looks like an addict.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS MAN!

I called to ask a question and the doctor himself answered and was so rude and short and when i told him he was rude he snapped back at me. I'm just trying to get treatment for my sick dog! He was totally unprofessional.

Dr Kathio deserves the best recommendation that one could give. He is a fair and honest man. He has a big heart for animals and regardless of what a few are saying, he does not care for only money. I have been to other vets in the area, but now I know and I will never go anywhere else.

One of the most amazing vets you can go to. This man truly is in it to help the animals and isn't only in it for the money. A selfless, kind, amazing individual.

I wouldn't give him even one star. Dr kathio is one of the most disrespectful people/vets I know. I called for copy's of my dogs shots. He couldn't give me that. He yelled at me being Disgusting/rude toward me. Then hung up I'm my face. I wouldn't recommend seeing him! I'm happy I took my dogs somewhere else !!!
