Blue Chip helped my daughter in an emergency situation and it eased her broken heart to know how hard they worked and see her beloved Polo found his forever home! Thank you to the staff at Blue Chip!

Beautiful animals and friendly staff. Volunteered through my job and the greatest experience is giving. I would recommend volunteering with this organization because they do so much good and if you are unable to volunteer donate every little bit counts.

I drove an hour and a half up there because I was approved to adopt a puppy. I get there and they ask my age even though I put on the application I was under 21 but yet I was still approved and didn’t even come home with a puppy so I wasted my time to go up there. Not to mention the person who answered the phone was very rude to me about verifying that I could come and adopt this puppy being I was at work. So with that being said I will no longer be looking adopt a puppy from here

The few times I have had interactions with staff/volunteers from Blue Chip, I've encountered extreme rudess, negativity, and an apparent lack of concern for the animals in need. Most recently, I spent 2 minutes on the phone with someone, explaining that I needed advice on rescuing an injured cat so I could get him to a vet. I clearly stated that I was not looking to surrender the cat but was seeking some assistance with capture. I had to hang up because an emergency vet I had been trying to reach called on my other line. When I called Blue Chip back, I spent approximately 10-15 seconds explaining the situation before the woman loudly interrupted and blurted out, "so what do you want from us?! I'm kinda busy!" I replied, "nothing" and let her get back to her important work. Clearly, they have better things to do than to help a person who wants to save a cat in dire need. In case you think I'm exaggerating the amount of her time I "wasted," the first call lasted 2 minutes. The second call lasted exactly 27 seconds. I hope they are kinder to the animals they serve. Before donating to Blue Chip or annoying them with requests to help animals, look into the complaints against them. I truly wish I had listened to all of the negative feedback I had heard. From this point forward, they will not receive a penny from me, and that makes me sad for the animals who will come into their care. Animals deserve better.

We had a loss in our family and we couldn't keep our pup. We definitely did not want to take her to a place where there would be a possibility of her getting put down. They were quick to lend a helping hand, though we did get "yelled" at for going back to see our loved puppy one last time until they find her forever home... but they know what's best. I will be donating blankets and cash every year due to them helping me find a home for our much loved puppy. Thank You Blue Chip!!!! ????

Kind and professional people work there. I support adoption vs pet breeding.

My family has adopted two WONDERFUL DOGS from Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge and haven't been disappointed. If we ever decide to adopt another pet it will be from Blue Chip. They really care about each and every animal in their care. So glad your there for them and families like mine looking for a pet who needs a LOVING home.

I cannot believe what just happened with Blue Chip. Went there last weekend and did the application online. We looked at a few dogs and fell in love with a two-year-old pitbull. He had a cherry eye that needed surgery and needed to be fixed. We told them we would take him the way he way because we just wanted a dog after beloved dog had passed. They said they would call us back once his surgery was done. Never got a call back and we kept calling. Then we were told he was with a foster. Owner said she would call us back if the foster was willing to let us get the dog without the cherry eye surgery and getting fixed. Never a call back. And then finally I called again and was told that the foster was keeping the dog. This was after we had been approved and we were told we would have the dog. This was a terrible adoption experience and we are heartbroken. We had bought several beds, food, leashes for the dog, but mostly our hearts were open to have another dog to love. I can’t believe an adoption place would run like this. Never again. We are in shock. Please beware. From other reviews this seems like it hasn’t been the first time that they have had issues with adoptions. Seems to have worked with others but their lack of organization has caused broken hearts and false expectations for many.

Some of the volunteers are very nice and work very hard.... however... Adopted a dog and it just didn't work. I tried for a month. The dog was very sweet, but she really needed someone who could be with her nearly 24/7 and that just wasn't possible. There was no way for either of us to know that ahead of time. They gave me all kinds of assurances that everything would be great and if not just bring her back and we'll refund you no problem. That is also in their written contract that they made. It tore me up to make the decision to bring the dog back, but I knew I had to. When I brought her back it was suddenly a whole new tune. No one was nice and the one guy looked at the dog and said, "Don't worry, we'll find a *good* home for you." They weren't interested whatsoever in what I had to say about the dog's problems and what type of home I thought she needed. They totally dismissed me. I brought her back September 5th. It is now 12/7/20 and they still refuse to refund me. I donated all of her (mostly unused) supplies and told them to keep $50 as a donation and I wanted the rest back. They keep telling me they will send it. I spoke directly to the owner and she said to me on the phone, "It will go out today" that was 10/19/20. I've sent follow up emails and contacted someone else. They just won't give it to me while acknowledging they owe it to me. I happen to know for a 100% fact (they posted it on their FB) that someone adopted the dog, so they got 2 fees for the same dog.

We adopted our Maltipoo, Nick, from Blue Chip after he was discarded in a dumpster in Taylor in December of 2018. We were ecstatic to be chosen to be his parents and he has been a total joy to us. Blue Chip was very thorough in vetting 100 applications and checked with our vet who recommended that we get him. We are forever in their debt.

No kill shelter for animals. Love this place and much respect to Marge, the founder, as well as the many volunteers who dedicate their lives to these animals.

Great facility and they treat the dogs well. However, they do not operate a fair or ethical business for those interested in adopting. My wife took time out of her work day to volunteer there Wednesday. She spent a significant amount of time with one particular dog and both of them had a connection to one another, many commented on that including workers there. Immediately my wife asked if anyone had an application in and she was told no. My wife quickly put in an application that same day. She called Thursday to see the status of the application and was told no one reviewed it yet. They were closed Friday so first thing today she called again. This time she was told that the dog had been adopted and went home Thursday. Seriously! She was told over the phone that the person that took the dog home was already in there system, came in Thursday and was interested in the dog and took her home. Needless to say my wife is devastated and heartbroken . I have no respect for this business anymore and they play favorites.

Filled out an application there a few months ago at the recommendation of one of their volunteers, and never received a response - AT ALL. I gave them all of my personal information, phone numbers of references, vet references, emailed them for an update twice, and still no response. I am a homeowner for 20+ years and perfectly capable of taking care of the dog I wanted to adopt so there was no reason for them to treat me that way. Turns out they did get my email address because yesterday I received an email from them asking for my vote for some contest so they can get MONEY. REALLY!?!?! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!

Never in my life have I came across such rude and inconsiderate people . A friend of mines dog got out . She was taken to blue chip , right away once she found out where her dog was she called . They told her she can’t come get HER dog because of poor grooming . Really ?! Poor grooming... they said the dogs nails were to long and her coat and face was dirty ! Now keep in mind this is a shitzu so anyone who knows the breed knows that their face gets brown over time because of their eyes, no matter how many times you clean their face, unless you know , they’re a show dog then that’s different. As a family pet yes ,It’s a known fact in that breed . Anyways , they told her they are also pressing charges on her for animal cruelty and she will not get the dog back ! which is a bunch of bull ! They have no right keeping that dog , that dog is someone’s pet , bestfriend , and I know personally that the owner loves that dog. plus the poor dog is probably so scared and stressed . They say they care about the animals but that poor dog is alone right now in a cage prob wondering where her mommy is, when she could be home safe and sound with her mommy right now if it weren’t for blue chip ! The place is unbelievable, just because the dog doesn’t live up the their standards doesn’t mean they have any right of keeping someone’s pet away from them. If they feel that the dog is not groomed properly maybe bring the owner up to the farm. Show her what needs to be done and then give the dog back , go check on the dog in a couple weeks and see if the owner followed what blue ship said , not just have a dog come to the farm as a stray , find the owner then tell the owner no you can’t have your dog back !! Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!
