They squeezed us in same day because my dog managed to get access to a battery inside a cat toy. So appreciative of how understanding they were and that they were able to get us seen. The facility is very nice as well.

Took excellent care of my senior dog during his last few months when his health worsened and existing conditions became quite complicated. Dr. Hayworth, Dr. Assandri, and all the techs are extremely attentive and compassionate caregivers. My dog's weekly physical therapy appointments became mini vet visits near the end, which was above and beyond and clearly demonstrated the passion in their work.

A last minute work trip had taken me away from home during the time of an appointment for my new foster dog. A friend of mine was able to take him in and the doctor called me directly and discussed very thoroughly what my pup needed and the overall costs. He was incredibly professional and helpful! The vet even was able to do a charge for services via text, which was wonderful. They've always treated my pets well and I continue to appreciate their professionalism.

I’ve only come here for acupuncture for my pup Irie with Dr. Purvis… I CANNOT say more positive things about this integrative medicine vet. Shes amazing! I have a small 4lb dog that has had chronic breathing and coughing issues. I’ve been seeing Dr Purvis for about 2 years. She’s saved my dog! Doctors would only prescribe oral steroids.. and while they worked I knew if I wanted my young pup to live her best life I needed to explore every option that didn’t have long term use health probs. Dr Purvis was that god send! Through patience and seeing each other once a month, Irie is the best she has ever been! Between acupuncture, herbs and only the occasional big pharma meds Irie is so happy. She breathes better and coughs less! And NO LONG TERM oral steroid use <3 Aside from being patience, knowledgeable and understanding… Dr Purvis willingly took on Irie as a patient as a few other health probs arose. She wasn’t her “vet” but took on her continual care outside of acupuncture and I couldn’t be more thankful. She was responsive during emergencies, squeezed Irie in to evaluate her in times of need and has provided her with unmatched care. THIS is why I will be following Dr Purvis to her new place of employment (and anywhere she goes until she chooses to retire) She is such an asset to my little family. I am SO thankful to have her. And I hope VCA recognizes the asset she was to the establishment! Ps. Erin, her tech, is the best ever! No joke! Over Covid, when people weren’t allowed inside during such visits… she took exceptional care of Irie. Although not in the room with her, I know she was the one to sit, in quiet, with Irie during her treatment. She is patient, kind and had an energy that allowed Irie put her full trust in her when Dr Purvis would insert the acupuncture needles. She’s an outstanding woman. You’re a lucky pet parent if Erin is by your side!

This place has definitely changed! After coming here since 2013 with my 3 rescue dogs and spending a lot of money (higher priced vet), including 2 surgeries over $5000 .....they refused a vet visit for my dog, with an acute issue...because I was 10 minutes late!!!!

My first appt was for a sick bird it had to be a emergency appt which was costly they had no openings but they did there best and tried to help my bird my 2nd appt I had a regular appt for my birds check up and it was still sick but they didn’t give up and we tried another round of meds we never really found out the issue with the bird but after a few months of happy living my bird started to go down hill again and it was clearly time to put it to sleep and they got my poor bird in the Same day I called they were SO kind to me and my bird they put my sweet little Ivy to sleep in 15 mins I thank them for helping me and my sick Bird in such a sad time .

I can't express how great the experiences I had were with Dr Spillane and Dr H. I had my best pal in a few times when he was struggling and they were both incredibly personable, very detailed in their observations and explanations and I had the strong sense that they cared about my buddy's health every bit as much as I could.

After we decided to bring our little cat home, we have been waiting for 4 hours for just discharge paperwork. This is ridiculous!

I always bring my guinea pigs (all 5 of them) here to see Dr. Morrison. HOWEVER, I will not be bringing my cat back after my last visit. $2,000 treatment plan just to tell me WHAT *COULD* be wrong with his teeth.. then would need a referral to a dentist.. that is absolutely insane to me. Don't get me wrong, I always am willing to pay however much I need to in order to keep my babies healthy, but this seems a bit ridiculous given that he already had his teeth extracted before we adopted him due to what is likely a case of life-long stomatitis. Find somewhere else for your cat.. They are great for exotics, though I’m sure I’ve paid out over $10,000 to this place in the past 3 years.

I took a chicken for bumblefoot treatment. It took MONTHS which is ridiculous and in the end my girl died. The doctors aren’t around enough and they put you off even when you call and state your pet is in worsening condition. I called four days ago we were told they really couldn’t see her because Dr. Morrison wasn’t in. I found her passed away this morning. Never again.

I had an emergency situation with my dog and this vet charged me $147.75 for antibiotics!!!!! I was angry when I saw my bill. I called 2 other local vets as well as the local Rite Aid and for the EXACT same brand/mg/dosage and amount of pills, the highest cost for the EXACT SAME PRESCRIPTION was $29.00!!!! This place is a rip off.

We brought our French bulldog (Primo) here for a BOAS surgery and we are so grateful and happy with our experience and the outcome. We've been wanting to get the surgery done for him for a few years but were too nervous as the surgery is very risky for the breed and we also had a very bad experience at a neighboring animal hospital. Dr. Enwiller operated on Primo. Prior to scheduling, she explained the entire surgery thoroughly, listened to all of our concerns and answered all of our questions. The day of surgery we were able to sit with Primo while the initial exam was completed. Once he was taken back into surgery, our assigned CVT (Alicia) was awesome and texted us play by plays with how he was doing under anesthesia and how the surgery was going. Alicia and Dr. Enwiller's care for our dog was truly a 10 out of 10 and took so much stress out of the experience for us and Primo. We are so happy with the results and recovery and Primo is already breathing easier and getting his normal energy levels back. We highly recommend VCA Northview! <3

If you've been there before they'll take an emergency but if not then it's go somewhere else the dogs dieing hows that make sense. Update on this review. After being told we couldn't be seen. We had to put are dog down due to a dog bite. This vet was 10min from my house and we were told can't be seen. My regular vet of choice is Five Points however was far to drive to due to the fact my rat terrier was attacked by a pit bull

Scheduled appointment for my bird was 11:45. 345$ and 2 hours and 22 mins later just got my bird back. Also 2 out of 3 customers out in the parking lot I spoke to said that they have increased prices so bad that they are looking for alternative places to take the pets

BEWARE!!! This place only wants your money and doesn’t care about the quality of life of your pet!! I literally found out from another vets office today my two dogs were missed diagnosed. Due to their negligence my dogs were on the wrong antibiotics now causing them potentially long term issues. They bleed you of your money. Never tell you the prices and never explain what they’re doing. I would only go here if it was your last and I mean last resort.

I’ve been using VCA Northview for a decade and their staff is lovely. Care has been available when ever I need it though I’m sure it’s pricier than other vets. What prompted me to write this review is that my dog’s urine culture from last week turned positive. The vet contacted me and, the next day, the antibiotic was shipped via FedEx to our vacation place. Within 48h of culture results, my pup was able to start the antibiotic 6 states away from home which I think is excellent service.

Took my baby birds to get treated for splay leg. a week after braces were put on manager gets on the phone and says to me "normally we dont charge for an emergency like this" then after i told her i made a down payment she demanded i pay 600 dollars upfront or she would give my babies to someone else in the hospital or euthanize my baby birds DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE THE MANAGER HAS NO REGARD FOR THE SANCTITY OF LIFE ive never heard of someone in medical history demanding upfont payment for service or else they will do something terrible like this third world country or something. ps babies are healing great thanks to the doctor that took care of them without asking for payment.

We are completely satisfied with surgeon Dr. Tara Enwiller and the entire staff at VCA Northview. We were anxious about our 11 year old mini schnauzer undergoing elective surgery to have a infiltrative lipoma of his chest removed but Dr. Enwiller explained all the considerations going into surgery very clearly; her and the staff made us feel very comfortable with the whole process. The same-day surgery went smoothly and they even called the next day to see if we had any concerns before his post-op visit. We can’t thank them enough!

Told not to come because the "exotic" pet doctor was not in. So unless we had a cat or dog, they wouldn't help. My ferret, Loki, died that night because of it. Not even 12 hours after symptoms showed

Looks like the cost is slightly higher than others, but their service and courtesy are fairly good. My kitten had no problem while visiting and getting shots.

It was a horrible, we waited about 3 hours .They took my chinchilla away from me and it got seen by the “ exotic vet “ and charged me for a vet I haven’t even seen or heard what she/he said . They gave my chinchilla 2 oral and 1 topical medicine, one was a pain medicine which he was in no pain whatsoever. The medicine did nothing.I told them his symptoms , and said it was probably a fungal infection (Ring worm) .They said Ring worm was NOT COMMON IN CHINCHILLAS , yes it is if you look up chinchilla infections it is like the first thing that pops up . The total cost was $350.After a week or so I went to Animal general they did everything I expected and wanted to do they found out he does have a fungal infection by using a black light they gave him a scrub and he is on a anti fungal medication which is helping the exotic vet ( Dr. Mark) actually cares about animals and he said he saw a chinchilla earlier. I highly recommend Animal general.

We had an emergency situation with our cat last month and were fortunate to find this vet still open in the evening. They took care of the problem even though it ran way past their normal closing time. It's obvious they care about their patients in how the situation was handled.

I've had nothing but good experiences with VCA. My dog needed surgery on her acl and by the time my normal vet( not vca) found it she only had 20 %of her acl left. I was originally referred to PVESC they wanted over $5,000 to do the surgery plus they wouldn't be able to preform the surgery till a month after her diagnosis. I took it apon myself to find another orthopedic specialist and I'm so glad I did. I called VCA on a Sunday they had an appointment avaliable 2 days later and they preformed the surgery same day. It was also almost $2,000 cheaper and it included her follow up visits. The doctor and her assistants were wonderful and texted me pictures and updates before and after her surgery. I highly recommend VCA and couldn't be more grateful for everything they did for my fur baby.

I cannot believe how horrible and unkind my family was treated today. Our very loved sweet ferret, Yeti, was very sick and I took him to the ER. Everyone was wonderful and I left after 2 hours and having agreed to $850 of medical care over the course of 24 hours. They only had guesses as to what was wrong and didn’t know if any treatment would work but I trusted the vet when she said she wanted to give him a chance. Today at 330 I received a phone call from a different vet, as I had expected. He basically told me that we should euthanize. I told him I would be bringing my 3 young boys to say goodbye. We arrived at 4:10 and there was one person working the desk. Someone was in front of us and after listening to the two of them talk for 10 minutes about pet insurance, I apologetically interrupted and told her we were there to see Yeti. She was extremely irritated with me but picked up the phone after a couple minutes and called someone in the back and told them we were there. Another 10 minutes and we were taken to an exam room with 3 chairs for the 6 of us (me, my husband, my mom to help with my autistic children, and my 3 boys). After 25 minutes of being in the room we started taking turns sitting on the floor. We couldn’t imagine what was taking so long after I had been told on the phone that Yeti was very sedated and in a vegetative state. The irritated woman from the front desk finally came into the room and told me we needed to check out. I was so confused—check out for what? We still hadn’t seen our ferret! We had already been there for 45 minutes and they hadn’t even brought him to us. And then I realized that they wanted us to pay the bill before allowing us to see Yeti. It was so blatant and obvious and the most vile experience I’ve ever had given the vulnerable situation my family was in. I said okay, let’s go pay the bill and she said “oh, I can just take your card.” I refused to give it to her and I stepped out into the lobby and paid the bill, including the fee for euthanasia, which hadn’t even been done yet. I was appalled. I went back with my family into the tiny exam room and we waited again for our sweet pet. After several minutes, they brought him to us wrapped in a blanket and I quickly embraced him as my children surrounded me while I sat on the floor. I looked across the hall and saw the room with couches and chairs and told my family to move over there so we could all give Yeti our love. 2 minutes later, the vet walked into the room WITH THE EUTHANASIA SYRINGES IN HIS HANDS MINUTES after we finally got to see our ferret. Immediately, my young children started reacting to this AFTER I VERY CLEARLY TOLD THIS MAN ON THE PHONE THAT I WOULD BE BRINGING MY CHILDREN IN TO SAY GOODBYE AND THEN I WOULD BE STAYING UNTIL YETI PASSED. Instead of that graceful and sensitive plan to make this as easy as we could on our children the vet came in needles in hand and my children began to react, cry, and ask questions. I was absolutely horrified. The vet started talking about euthanizing him and I looked at him with exasperation and asked him if we had to do it right that minute and pointed out that we had JUST gotten Yeti minutes ago. I explained my frustration with having to wait so long to see him in the first place and the callous way the bill was handled and he was very dismissive as he told us there are other emergencies and the front desk was very busy too. Our children held and sang to Yeti and told him how wonderful he was and how great heaven was going to be and then we asked my mom to take them out for a walk. As soon as the 4 of them left the room I held Yeti dear to me and broke down in tears while I told my husband that I would absolutely not let them (any further VCA employees) touch Yeti. I cried to him how unkind they were being towards us and how they were treating Yeti like he was not important. My husband, a very rational and logical person, agreed. We took Yeti home with us, prepared to keep him comfortable until our vet opens on Monday. This horrible experience has turned into a trauma.

Exceptional staff and technical capability. Not only are the doctors and staff extremely capable and professional, they are also caring and highly responsive to the pet owners. This facility includes urgent care and surgical capabilities. I would never use any other animal care facility. These folks are the best!

Expensive but amazing care! I have had my cat come in for two emergency appointments and they listen to me completely, they are patient, attentive and answer all of my questions (about my cat and price of things). They sent me text updates of my buddy as I requested and even had him tucked in under a blanket like I had mentioned he enjoys. It is significantly more expensive than anywhere else but I was able to use care credit to pay for a surgery and my cat has insurance so I was sort of covered in that way. Also - they do go slowly with taking tests in that they will rule things out before adding more tests (and a higher price tag) to the visit.
