VCA Fox Chapel Animal Hospital Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I’ve been going to VCA for a little over 2 years now and they’re the best we’ve used so far in the Pittsburgh area. Knowledgeable and reliable. They are always on time for your appointment and really seem to care about your pet. My dog previously had cancer, so it is imperative that we see a vet who truly cares and knows what to be looking out for, and that’s what we get at this VCA. Dr. Miggins and Dr. Resek are both wonderful and are good at explaining things to me in a way I can understand, which I greatly appreciate. It is a little bit more expensive than I would like, but after all the things we’ve gone through at some other Pittsburgh vets, I certainly don’t mind paying when we are receiving quality veterinary care.

To the owners - do yourself a big favor and fire Sharon. She is costing you business with her consistent rude and unprofessional service. We have been going to your business for years and dread the thought of dealing with Sharon every time we have to go.

So glad we are with this Vet. I called about my dog’s GI problems and spoke to a tech immediately. They called me back a few hours later with information from a doctor about medication and dietary recommendations. Everyone here has been patient and kind and clearly cares a lot about these animals.

Very poor service, staff are not professional. I had the collection of bad experience, from making my service dog suffer for 6 months with broken tooth root, they just make you pay visits without really diagnosis, staff are incredibly rude not willing to cooperate to file insurance claims. I was too naive visiting this clinic for a year and keeping up with poor service. As I moved to Massachusetts and worked with new veterinary hospital, now I understand what is the real costumer service and how respectful and kind they are with my dogs, and services are even cheaper. Please don’t settle down with overpriced , unprofessional and ill behaved institution.

VCA Fox Chapel has always taken such great care of my dogs. They always get us in quickly for emergencies.

They are always a quick in and out, but very thorough and professional. We take all our pets there (4 cats, 1 dog). Always have good advice and a sympathetic ear. I'd recommend them to anyone!

They are not an animal hospital or urgent care as advertised. I called because my cat is puking blood and was told they aren't accepting new clients.

The veterinarian is incompetent. Do not take your animal here please. Our dog was almost killed here. The doctor's report that was given to us was missing critical information and had it not been for our medical knowledge it possibly would have been the demise of our loved one.

I have been utilizing VCA for years for my animals and the vets are wonderful, however, the customer service is severely lacking. My dog is limping and not using her front arm. Her shoulder area is completely swollen. She has been on medication for a month and it hasn’t improved her condition. She cries in pain daily. I called to get her in to see a vet, any vet, and was offered only one appointment time and told nothing else was available for a month! I’ll be taking her to Avets to be seen but having to wait a month to see a vet when my dog is in pain, I’ll be switching vet clinics. That’s like your doctor telling you you have to wait a month but you can’t use your arm and are in pain. My dogs well-being matters!

Love Dr. Muggins and staff. He's very caring, good with animals and he is thorough. Also, you never wait long because they value your time too! Excellent doctor.

This place is a joke. Spend your money elsewhere, where the staff actually like animals. I just called to make my dog an appointment over his hurt paw and this miserable woman who answered the phone decided to speak over me rather than letting me talk. I’m done with this place. This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with their horrendous customer service. Every time we go there we’re met with bizarre, unwarranted attitudes. Why am I paying their scam insurance monthly to be talked to like a child by someone who clearly lacks elementary level communication skills and the basics of customer service? It doesn’t take much effort to be a nice person but apparently kindness isn’t a priority here. Bye VCA!

Wonderful. Staff took good care of my fur baby

I have been coming here for close to 30 years since my first cat. They were very kind when I had to put her down. And subsequent cats have had chronic issues and the staff is always fantastic I've had most of the doctors and they are great.

My sweet kitten needed shots during Covid: what could have been a really stressful experience was actually quite reassuring. I so appreciated the safety protocols they have in place. Their method is to wait in the car and call upon arrival, then wait for a masked receptionist to call the pet’s name from the front door. From there, a very clear path was labeled on the floor for us to go back to the exam room. I saw no other humans or pets except the receptionist, nurse and doctor. My kitty appreciated the lack of other animals around us. Every person I dealt with was kind and helpful. I felt as safe as one can during a pandemic with a nervous pet in tow. Highly recommend!

Great caring place love it

Dr. Dakota Hutchinson is the best! He actually cares about/loves animals in addition to being an excellent physician (which I have found lacking in the veterinary industry over all in the past decade plus)! His examinations of my pets have been thorough AND comprehensive without added and unnecessary expenses. His clinical follow through is outstanding! My pets and I thank you Dr. Hutchinson! My uncle was the Dean of Ohio State Veterinary School many years ago and would be extremely proud of Dr. Hutchinson's (a graduate of Ohio State's Vet school) sincere care and clinical acumen!

Doctors are good just food & medicine can be found much cheaper elsewhere.

They were awesome! Their Covid-19 protocols were on point and each time my visit was timely and affordable! I'm glad they gave me the option to go inside with my pet, while at the same time making me feel safe.

Fast, friendly service. Professional caring staff. My dog loves all the staff and I practically have to drag him out from behind the counter where the receptionist work.

Drs knowledgable. Everyone is nice, and understanding, but it doesnt seems like anyone really wants to be there. Maybe I've gone on sad days... Idk.
