Plum Animal Hospital Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I am a new pet owner to a young kitten. I am an empty nester and felt it was time to fine a companion. I did my research on the foster homes and rescue centers in my area. I narrowed my search down to a 10 month old kitten who I fell in love with on our first visit and ended up bringing her home that night. Ever since Phoebe has filled my life beyond anything I could have hoped for or even imagined. She instantly became my baby and a member of my family. The first thing I did was search for a veterinarian. I has a long list of must haves. The first appointment I took Phoebe to was nothing short of a nightmare. I couldn’t run out of there fast enough. Not only did the vet NOT speak to Phoebe at all and try to comfort her tiny little body shaking with fear. He has the audacity to speak to his receptionist like a subhuman….someone who was beneath him. The visit quickly ended with me scooping my baby kitten up….while at the same time trying to convince the young girl behind that counter that she did NOT have to put up with his ridiculous and inappropriate behavior! I said this is 2021 and nowhere in my book or in Oakmont is this kind of boss/employee behavior is this acceptable!!! I went home and talk to a close friend and cat lover. She referred Dr. Jones and I have never looked back! The minute he introduced him self to my very anxious young kitten….I knew I was hooked! For as long as I have Phoebe….I will continue to see Dr. Jones. Please give him a try and save yourself the aggregation!! Look no further! My next question I will be asking about is what food I should switch to when Phoebe is getting closer to her one year birthday in 2 and 1/2 months. She is eating purina fancy feast wet food and purina nurture dry food and I am afraid that she is getting bored of the food. I want to stick with Purina fancy feast if possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She is absolutely tired of the dry food by itself and I have given her gravy on the dry feral just to get her to exact. My question is should be stick it out and try to make it until she is one year old or just wait an talk to the vet. Thank you inadvance for your help. I really do appreciate it. I tried to tell you but it wouldn’t post apparently you only accept want you want to hear: I called about my pet this morning and was told you couldn’t help me coz I missed my yearly appointment for my pet so you don’t have time for my pets problem

Recently took my dogs here for their initial check up, and a few other things. It seems like a decent place.

This was our first trip to this veterinary practice. First impressions are it's very clean and organized. It's a nice place. Dr. Jones is knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything very well. Our cat has a complicated condition and he knows much about it and helped us to understand the importance of her medication and what we can do to get her treatment just right. Easy to speak with. The staff were also excellent. Prompt and courteous. Plum Animal Hospital was a good experience and we'll continue to go there.

Dr Jones and the PAH team are the sweetest with my dog. We never wait to be seen and they really do care for their patients.

Straight forward vet care from Dr. Jones. The rest of the staff is very caring as well. Just a bit hard to get an appointment when you need it lately.

My family has been going to Plum Animal Hospital for all of our pets for more than 30 years. I think the staff is great and i have always appreciated them. However recently my elderly dog became ill and they were unable to get us in for an emergency ????. I was very upset and had to take Romeo to Avets where he ultimately had to be put down. I would recommend Plum Animal hospital for routine care, but don't count on them in an emergency. At this point i am very undecided if i would return there in the future.

Wonderful place, they really care about our pets. When we had to put away two of our pet at separate times, they always go beyond to make sure our experience there as smooth as it could be. It was very difficult but I will always remember how they cared for our furry family members and made sure our pets are looked after.

All I can say is I will never even entertain going anywhere else . Dr. Jones is phenomenal! To keep it simple he is thorough , methodical and caring !! He always takes baby steps and makes suggestions thinking about the animal first and your pocketbook is a close 2nd . He will NOT try to strike fear into you like emergency rooms and make you think it is necessary to run multiple tests and run up huge bills . He will go one small step at a time and he is usually correct with his first step . I have had Atleast 3 dogs under his care and on several occasions he has called me personally to check in on progress and / or fit me in for an emergency visit when he really had no obligation to do so and I know it was not convenient for him at all to do so . He is like a good mechanic ….. once you find him you will NEVER leave him . I trust him completely !!!

Was directed to Plum Animal recently by a co-worker and I have been pleased with Dr. Jones and his staff. They are very helpful, answer my questions and treat my pets like their own. My dogs look forward to the treats they hand out after their visits too.

They are great with my dog. And the two times I have had to come I feel like they gave me informed information and the visit was affordable.

Competent, reliable, and affordable. Quality care without trying to overcharge. Empathetic and thorough.

Everyone is very friendly and the doctor is great. Never pressuring or makes you feel like a bad owner. My dogs oddly love coming to the vet here.

Unfortunately we had to put our 14 yr old dog Reese down last week. Everyone was not only very kind and caring that day but we received a beautiful card in which the Dr. And staff wrote a beautiful message. This meant so much to us. I recommend them very highly
