My furkids have been patients of Dr. Miller - in sickness as well as regular checkups- for 30 years. I don't know what I would have done without her expertise, care and commitment to the health & safety of my pets. Dr. St John & Dr. Ackerman are terrific vets too. All the staff of MVA are caring, friendly and professional. The DVM's are always on top of the newest treatments as well as offering certified holistic ( acupuncture)approach as an option. There is no other veterinarian practice I would go to for regular care and MVA is not hesitant to refer a specialty case to PVSEC or AVETS if that is what is best for the health of my pet. I wish my own MD was this awesome!

Years later, still the best vets ever, and terrific staff. I drive 35 minutes to go here, when I have several vets nearby. Totally worth it. Dr. Miller handles my dogs with such compassion and knowledge. My dogs are never nervous to go. My dogs actually *love* going to the vet.

I have had nothing but great experiences at Murrysville Veterinary Assoc. They all are very professional and kind. Dr. St. John is great, I feel very comfortable with the treatment that is given to my pet.

Exactly what a veterinarian office should be. Kind people who clearly care about animals, competent, they don't oversell/upsell Process are reasonable Take 3 animals there and will continue to do so

We have had nothing but good experiences with Murrysville Vet Associates. They provided wonderful support and were so compassionate when we had to put our beloved dog and cat down over the past few years. With our new dog, Dr. Schumacher was been an absolute godsend. He is very responsive with messages and went out of his way to research options for our dog when we couldn’t afford something. He is honest and truly cares about his patients and their families. All the techs and everyone we have come in contact with are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them for your furry pals! ????????

I’m not the type to leave negative reviews on places but this is a must. Back in May our dog was due to have surgery, they canceled…5 minutes before her surgery while my dog was bleeding out in my car. I had to rush her to an emergency vet and she passed away 2 weeks later. Unprofessional to cancel a surgery 5 minutes prior stating the vet just woke up with a fever. Wasn’t he already supposed to be in the office prepping for surgery… not just waking up? Odd! I know life happens but when having an extensive surgery scheduled when the dogs life depended on it maybe a plan B should have been set in place. In addition, our other pup came up positive for Lymes disease in which Murrysville Vets did nothing about it claiming she must’ve been exposed but due to her size she will be fine. Fast forward she’s been tested at another vets her numbers are over 200 in which they should be under 30. She’s now getting treated by a different vets and getting antibiotic treatment. She’s only 2 so I pray her life won’t be shortened by their negligence yet again. I will say in May the front office staff felt horrible as they witnessed my dog bleeding everywhere in my car and how upset I was. They were compassionate and I know it wasn’t their fault. The vets there on the other hand … unprofessional on how they handle situations.

DO NOT GO HERE! They put my dog on Apoquel for his severe allergies and it helped so much. Due to the pandemic and recently moving out of state, I was unable to get him in for his 1 year health check. I went to fill his script with Chewy and they wouldn’t fill it and never informed me that they wouldn’t be able to. I told them I was moving last month but knew Vets were really booked up unless it was an emergency and they emailed me his records. Apoquel is a medicine you can’t cut off cold turkey (last time he missed two weeks he developed a Staph infection which this location treated). I called asking if they could fill a one month script until the Vet appt and they said no. IM SHOCKED! I’ve been a loyal customer and how the front desk woman handled the situation was APPALLING. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I had an almost 17 year old cat that had cancer to the point that the tumor was not able to be removed any longer. Dr. Schumacher was very compassionate to our cat and explained the process the whole time we were dealing with the tumor from the beginning. He wanted what was in the best interest of the cats life and worked with us through the whole euthanizing process and the individual cremation of our cat. After the ashes were ready for us to pick them up, the ashes were in a very nice urn and also had a death certificate included and we even got a sympathy card from all those at Murrysville Veterinary. I will continue to use this practice for my other pets going forward. Thank you for taken exceptional care of Mylo during his last few months.

Love the staff there. Always courteous and professional. The Doctors talk to you in a way so that you understand everything instead of having to look it all up later. ????

I love MVA. I had a horrible experience with another vet office and can't begin to tell you how wonderful Dr. St. John is with my pup! I highly recommend MVA and Dr. SJ...she is kind, compassionate and really cares about the animals she treats! I know she is really concerned about my dog's care and I trust her!

I had an appointment with Dr St John for my jack russell terrier who recently started having seizures. She expressed she has a neurology background and very knowledgeable on seizures. She and her staff are very kind, caring, and personable. I was impressed that she sent a personal email with blood work results making feel more at ease about my furbaby.

My dog and I had the best experience here! All the vet techs and the vet were absolutely wonderful towards my dog and I. My dog suffers from separation anxiety and because of it is always hesitant around new people and Dr. Schumacher as well as the vet techs were understanding and worked with the both of us. I love this place and was beyond thrilled with my experience.

Dr. Schumacher was very compassionate about our situation with Remmy and very up front about our options. I was recommended to them two years ago and wouldn't go anywhere else. They have the best staff, nice, compassionate and a pleasure to talk with.

Dr. St. John and the nursing staff show genuine care and concern for the health, comfort, and we’ll being of my dogs. One of my dogs is a young rescue who is very fearful of vet visits, and they were very patient with him. Dr. St. John took time to answer my questions and share lab results with an explanation to help me make care decisions for my dogs. I appreciate her partnership in the care of my sweet but somewhat crazy and needy dogs.

We used to have Dr. Ackerman for our pet but since she left we now have Dr. St. John and she is just wonderful. Haven't met her in person yet because of Covid but on the phone she is kind and knowledgeable and so caring. We are so pleased to have her take care of Jake. The staff there are all so kind and compassionate and we just love them all.

Our experience at Murrysville Veterinary Associates was a communication disaster from start the finish. We had wanted to get a dental cleaning done for our dog as he was 7 years old and we could see that his teeth had some tarter. We also noticed that he seemed to be favoring one side of his mouth just a bit (not for eating, just with harder toys and treats) so it seemed like a good time for a cleaning. We were told that Charlie needed to have a checkup appointment as a new client so we had one scheduled. Due to COVID restrictions, my husband had to stay in the car while they checked on Charlie in the clinic. My husband said that Charlie was in the vet for less than 5 minutes and when the vet, Dr. Schumacher, called to let him know how the appointment went, he said that Charlie looked very healthy and had no issues with his teeth. In fact, he said he wasn’t sure why we wanted to get a cleaning done for Charlie but understood if we wanted it for preventative measures. I was immediately concerned that we had paid $66 for a comprehensive checkup and Charlie had only been seen for a few minutes. I called the office and was told I would receive a call back. Dr. Schumacher called me and informed him that were concerned by the lack of attention to detail as the reason we had wanted a dental cleaning was that it looked like Charlie was favoring one side of his mouth when eating. Once I told Dr. Schumacher that, he suddenly said, "Oh yes I appreciated that". However, he never once mentioned it to my husband after the initial checkup. On the day of the dental cleaning, the drop off process was smooth. However, I received a call from Dr. Schumacher later in the afternoon stating that a tooth had been removed. Based on the size and importance of the tooth (upper carnassial) I would have expected to be notified before it was taken out, especially after being told that Charlie’s teeth looked great. He said that the tooth had a fracture and that it looked like it needed to be removed but that the dental radiographs and x-rays didn’t show any issues with the roots/surrounding bone area. I thought our issues had ended there but when I called our pet insurance provider with some questions about reimbursement, I was told that Dr. Schumacher submitted a report that stated that Charlie had dental disease and therefore, would be ineligible for future dental related procedures should we decide to end his policy and re-enroll. Never once was dental disease mentioned during our phone calls with Dr. Schumacher. I called the vet and asked for Dr. Schumacher to call me back. I missed his initial call back and listened to his voicemail. In it, he says that he noticed bone loss in TWO teeth and that’s why two teeth were removed. We were told only one tooth was removed and never once were we told that there was bone loss in any teeth at all. I called Dr. Schumacher back after receiving the voicemail. I asked him about the two teeth being removed when I was told that only one was removed (and only saw one removed tooth). He hesitated and then “rechecked his records” and retracted saying that he observed two teeth with bone disease but only one had more than 50% bone loss and therefore, only one needed to be removed. I reiterated that I was never told that he had more than one tooth that had an issue and was never told about any bone loss whatsoever. In fact, I was told that other than that tooth, everything else looked perfect. He stated that he doesn’t give clients every single detail of what his procedure and thought process is. I informed him that I was not expecting a play by play of the procedure but that a tooth with bone loss is something that should be relayed to a client. I find it ironic that on the website it states that "Dr. Schumacher has special interests in communication.." when that was the biggest issue we had. Perhaps the other doctors at this clinic have better communication but I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pet.

This clinic is great! Our previous vet retired and I admit I was anxious about taking my dogs someplace new but Dr MSJ is incredible and takes the time to explain options and treatments. Highly Recommend!

Our neurotic but beloved bichon was indicating severe pain at various intervals. After a sleepless night for the whole household, we called MVA at 7:15 a.m., received an appointment, diagnosis and solution by 8:40 a.m.!! Shout out to the technicians, they are skilled, cheerful and reassuring. We love the whole practice.

Update *** to the medically abused puppy by this association...... After requesting the exam record for the less than 5 minutes my puppy was in there, 6 shots were administered in his painful rear legs. The SAME LEGS his appointment was to look at only, not inject risky vaccines into. They also FALSIFIED the report: said they weighed him, guessing 30# lighter than he actually was and did not take his temperature before administering 6 risky vaccines, which is illegal. If they were to take his temperature they would have seen the elevation and not administering vaccines in the WRONG DOG
