Fantastic veterinarian hospital. Dr. Lindsay Shreiber is fantastic. My cat recently suffered from about of cystitis (bladder inflammation) and an inability to pass urine. He was hospitalized immediately for emergency treatment. Happy to say he is now home resting and healthy. I will definitely go back, but hopefully my cat stays healthy enough that I don't have to!

We have taken our dogs there through many years of good times as well as some bad times. They’ve been great through it all. We certainly take our dog to the vet routinely, but we are also definitely cost conscious with our vet care. Valley vet has always done a good job discussing all of the options with us, the costs for each thing, and the realistic pros and cons to each… Without any judgment in either direction.

Unwilling to assist in need of iv needle for our dog. Our regular vet forgot to give with iv bag. Guess that’s the type of care or understanding to help in time of need. Really. ????

We have absolutely loved our experience so far with Valley Vet! Our dogs are well taken care of, and Dr. O has been outstanding! Our one dog, Leo, had a lot of problems when we first started going, including the loss of about 20lbs. It took some time (and to be honest, a lot of money) but we finally figured out what was wrong with him with the help of Dr. O. He is now on special food and is back up to his correct weight. They are always responsive and have just been super helpful. We love them!

The check-in procedure is ridiculous. You wait outside and go through their maddening voicemail system while three people at the front desk just watch you instead of coming out to get your dog. I felt like they did not value me as a customer at all going through this process.

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. SAVE YOUR TIME AND HEALTH. THE COMPANY ITSELF IS TRYING TO ESTABLISH THAT IN ORDER TO WORK FOR THEM YOU HAVE TO BE VACCINATED. Not against vacations but the OWNER Lindsey is simply only protecting his pockets and does not care about the welfare of his workers. Before we even got to talk to interview he texted me saying out of the blue have you been vaccinated. BOLD HUH. First your in your rights to ask that as an employer but YOU SIR put yourself and company at RISK. YOU EVER learn about HEPPA, HOW ABOUT THE ADA ACT OR EVEN GO FAR AS GINA ACT. If not GO EDUCATE YOUR SELF SIR BEFORE YOU START ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE THAT. Again I am not against vaccinations of any kind and I am a man of god and science. I QUOTE LINDSEY I WANT TO CREATE A POLICY WHERE YOU HAVE TO BE VACCINATED IN ORDER TO KEEP YOUR JOB. I then asked him that why are the manufacture protected from liability till 2024. His answer : I DO NOT WANT TO GET INTO THE STIPULATIONS OF THAT. LIKE OKAY SO AGAIN YOU ARE MORE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR POCKETS THAN THE WELFARE OF YOUR WORKERS. What if I was allergic to the vaccine? Then I can’t get the shot thus DISQUALIFYING me from the job. HOW EQUAL AND FAIR IS THAT YOU KNOW WHAT THAT SMELLS LIKE DISCRIMINATION AT ITS CORE. FOLKS DO YOUR SELFS A FAVOR AND DO NOT GIVE LINDSEY YOUR BUSINESS NOR TIME. I COULD ONLY IMAGINE HOW HE TREATS MANS BEST FRIEND WHEN HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR HIS FELLOW MAN.

The Vets and Vet Techs are excellent with all three of my dogs! Also Dan the dog trainer is great! He's working with my dogs now and has taught me so much I didn't know about dog behavior and becoming a leader!

A veterinarian clinic where you can expect good services and staff. I've been taking my dog to Valley for several years now since their original Phoenixville location.

While the new hospital is huge and beautiful, Dr. Schrieber will try to scare you into spending lots of money. He tries to talk you into unnecessary tests and treatments. Be aware and keep looking for another vet.

Valley Vet's new facility is modern, beautiful, and clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have been taking our pets to Dr. Shreiber for nearly 20 years. He is always very thorough, and balanced in his approach for health and recommending treatments. They are also doing a great job with trying to keep people and pets safe during the pandemic with social distancing and other preventive measures. Reasonable fees. Highly recommend!

Everyone at the Hospital is amazing. The Drs and staff treated our pups with care and kept everyone safe. We’re so happy to have found a vet close to our new home that treats you like family!

Dr. Schreiber and company could not have done more for our Raleigh. We switched vets last year after she needed surgery to remove things she shouldn’t have eaten from her stomach. Over the past year, Dr. Schreiber worked tirelessly to help diagnose smaller issues, and never gave up, even with dead ends. We had an amazing experience with how compassionate and wonderful they are. Fast forward to the last two weeks— we brought her in for what everything pointed to as a slipped disc. Unfortunately, after an MRI, she was diagnosed with cancer that was pushing on her spinal cord and mimicked what we all thought it was. Even though they were so busy, they made time for multiple appointments, because I was the most worried dog mom. On Saturday, her condition worsened and I called the vet in despair. They personally reached out to Dr. Schreiber who was not in the office that day. He came over to my house on his day off and helped us do the most difficult thing. He knew her, and her knew how she was and told us it was the correct decision. I’m absolutely gutted, but I know it was the right thing. Dr. Schreiber grieved with us, and I have so much comfort knowing they was nothing else that we could have done to prevent this. They provided the absolute best care for us, and were the most wonderful all the way to the end.

The Good: The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Many times, staff members have gone above and beyond to help my pets, even when faced with situations they admitted they hadn't seen before, such as a small pet bird with a broken wing. The new facility is spacious and gorgeous, and I haven't tried the boarding facilities, but they seem very nice as well. When my pets have been anxious during visits, the vets and vet techs have done everything they can to not distress them any further, even conducting the checkup with the pet still in the carrier if they were too scared to come out. It's clear that the people working here really care about animals. The Bad: I've had two very negative experiences here. The first was shortly after I had adopted my cat. During her very first visit, I was told about half her teeth needed to be removed. The surgery went fine, but at the following year's checkup, I was worried that there might be more teeth problems. The vet I saw gave her a clean bill of health and was about to leave the room, when I asked if her teeth were okay. The vet took another look in my cat's mouth (she had already inspected it once during the checkup), then stood up, told me the rest of my cat's teeth needed to be removed, and immediately started pressuring me to make an appointment for the removal. I did not want to make the surgery appointment, since she had been about to give my cat a clean bill of health and leave before I asked about the teeth. The next checkup, the (different) vet said that my cat's teeth were fine, and definitely didn't need to be removed. My cat's mouth has been fine for nine years now and I'm wondering if she ever needed the first teeth removal at all, or if I had been unnecessarily pressured into that. The second negative experience was last year. The same cat developed a food allergy (later found to be a poultry allergy), and I knew the next step in diagnosing what was causing the allergy was starting her on a hydrolyzed protein diet for a while. I wanted to okay this with a vet, so I during her checkup I asked if starting a hydrolyzed protein diet was the correct next step. The vet immediately went into a 30-minute lecture on what a hydrolyzed protein diet was, with a side rant about people who put their pets on gluten-free diets. I already knew what a hydrolyzed protein diet was, I had no interest in a gluten-free pet diet, and I tried multiple times to explain this to the vet. Every time I spoke, he talked over me without acknowledging I had said anything. It was clear he had a very low opinion of me, and the whole experience was incredibly demeaning. The vet finished by saying he would tell the front desk to give me a sample of a hydrolyzed protein diet to see if my cat would eat it, and then he immediately left. The front desk told me they had never carried samples of that food and had no idea what the vet was talking about. The Ugly: It's a complete toss-up about what kind of care you'll get here. Either you'll have the loveliest, most accommodating and caring people you could possibly want, or you'll get someone incredibly demeaning who'll send up all your red flags. I've had far more good experiences here than bad, but the bad experiences have been really, really bad. I'm still taking my pets here for the time being, but I'm being cautious about it.

This is on behalf of myself and my sister. We were new to the Valley Vet practice. This is long but please read. Early Sept.: My 1st visit was for annual exams and they couldn't see me until 3 wks out. I agree with other reviews that they oversell. When I asked why my pets needed certain treatments they answered "because we recommend it". Turns out that dr., who isn't profiled on the website, graduated in 2020 which might explain the uninformative response. Mid Sept.: My sister's 1st visit with her dog was to examine regular vomiting and diarrhea which resulted in an anti-nausea prescription. The dr. suggested an xray to see if the dog ate an object (he didn't, so declined), and blood work but didn't give any reasons for why it could’ve been useful, so declined. Dog went home with anti-nausea meds. Late Sept.: My senior cat with kidney disease couldn't keep her balance and they scheduled me for an appt. 2 weeks out. I said I didn’t think I should wait that long. She advised to call the ER vet if conditions worsened. She called back the next day with news that they could see me sooner, but still a week out. My cat showed quick signs of improvement so I took it. She wrote "check leg" in the appt. description which I felt wasn’t accurate. My cat saw Dr. Schreiber (waited about 45 mins), did a blood test, he told me when he'd be in touch with results, didn’t hear back, I followed up twice, no call back. End of Sept.: 2 wks after my sister's 1st visit, her dog was worse and now also in pain. Valley Vet couldn't see him until the next week but suggested the pain might be arthritis and offered pain meds. My sister instead called Phoenixville Animal Hospital who recognized the urgency and scheduled him right away. They discovered, by hand, a mass in his stomach, advised an ultrasound which showed a massive tumor that was not detected by Valley Vet 2 wks prior. The following day he went into emergency surgery and did not survive. I looked into the Valley Vet dr. who initially treated him and saw that she's 2 years out of school. She wasn't able to articulate the value of an xray or blood work to support any potential investigation or discoveries other than to see if the dog ate an object, she was not able to detect a large tumor, nor was she able to connect the dots between the symptoms. She also was not overseen by an experienced dr. while treating a worsening symptomatic case. In conversations with Schreiber I found he was unfamiliar with the dog's case and asked for time to review the files from his practice and the ER vet. He then claimed to have spent more time on this file than most others, but he still struggled to understand the timeline and what happened due to confusing file notes and the history of phone calls. He made it clear that he had dedicated too much of his time to this case by indicating exactly how many minutes we had been on the phone with me (42 minutes to finally discuss my cat's blood results, the details of a deceased case, and his ongoing wax poetic). He was sympathetic and acknowledged where the young dr. fell short and alluded that neither the xray nor blood test would've indicated definitive information, had they been done. He speculated even if the dr. had found the lump the dog still wouldn’t have made it. It felt like a CYA comment to defend his dr.'s mistakes. He may be right about the outcome, maybe not, but his practice is not only about treating animals. They are also informing, educating and guiding pet owners and this was not a service that was provided to my sister's case, or mine. She unknowingly sat on an advancing cancer in a suffering pet. Valley Vet's staff wasn't able to detect the illness or receive the case with urgency and my sister was not prepared to suddenly lose a pet within 24 hours of another vet being able to make a diagnosis. Dr. Schreiber did NOT offer an apology and talked about hindsight being 20/20. My impression is they have an inexperienced staff, they are struggling to keep up with patient load, and Dr. Schreiber is spread too thin to oversee the practice.
