Love the groove hound, they take care of my boy

We have been taking our pup, Mosa, to Groove Hound for the past couple of weeks after a recommendation from a friend. We are SOLD. The team working at Groove Hound is amazing. It really feels like a family environment where they care about your pup. Each dog gets a level of attention that I haven't seen at any other place. It feels personal, and that's really what we want for our little dood.

The girls were very friendly and my dogs looked great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing their pet groomed

The Groove Hound is a gem in Fishtown. A grass roots operation run by Gert, the owner and pack leader, they truly care for their animals. The dog day-boarding services are fantastic and are the only place in the area with an outdoor yard so your furry friends don't pick up bad habits of using the bathroom indoors. The "pack" is carefully selected to make sure the dogs get along and are able to play hard without breaking into fights. My very timid rescue found her second home at the Groove Hound. She cowered around the city for the first few weeks after we moved into the neighborhood, but once she started interacting with all the other dogs at the Groove Hound she really came out of her shell. Gert is super reliable and a pleasure to work with, and the rest of the staff really care for the dogs like their own. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The Groove Hound is the most amazing place! Gert and her team take such good care of our dog both for daycare and grooming. She is so knowledgeable about dogs and you can tell this business and dogs are her life’s passion. We wouldn’t take our dog anywhere else.

My dog is CRAZY about this place and so am I! Gert the owner is not only great with dogs, but she runs a great business. The dogs have an awesome outdoor area to play in all day (they are in and out all day, all weather), the staff is attentive to make sure everyone is behaving themselves, and the dogs enrolled are carefully selected to make sure all the dogs are part of a great pack! Besides taking my dog to work with me when I can, this is one of the best decisions I have made for my dog to ensure he gets proper socialization (way better than the dog park!). Not to mention, on busy days of work, I know he is getting plenty of exercise. Lastly, they offer some of the best grooming services around. So if you really are looking for the best place to groom and send your dog to "school" I can not recommend the Groove Hound enough!

Kelly and the rest of the staff are so helpful and understanding. my pup is a rescue and terrified of the world. she hates getting her nails cut. Kelly was completely understanding and let me hold my girl and comfort her while she cut her nails. it was no easy task. it took three of us to hold her and get it done. neither of them seemed annoyed by the hassle. even though they could've been since we walked in right as they were trying to close. (I didn't know this when I headed there.) this will be the only place I take my pup to get her nails done. highly recommend.

Highly recommend! We took Great our Pyrenees puppy for his first groom last month and he had such a positive experience --not only did they fully walk us through the process and alleviate any concerns but they did such an amazing job at getting his undercoat out and making him feel so so much better! He's been itching less and he just seems happier after the groom so it was well worth the $$ Very experienced groomers who know the right cuts for each breed/lifestyle but also they just understand dog behavior and non verbal communication and they go slow and make sure your dog is comfortable and happy.

Never called back after over 5 messages. I really wanted to get my dog taken car of here but, after a month I've given up completly.

I was so impressed by the knowledge of the owner and of my overall experience. Gert was so kind to my pup and did amazing job clipping her coat. Gert even managed to fix the horrendous trimming I gave her prior. Plus, luz was clearly in love with her by the time I came to pick her up from her grooming so I couldn’t ask for anything more. She was also so kind when my schedule changed multiple times last minute and was still able to fit me in. I will absolutely bring luz back! Thank you!

I started going to Groove Hound because of all the positive reviews, and it was the closest grooming location to me. My dog needed his nails trimmed badly, and I was happy to find a place conveniently located and affordable. But that's just the beginning of the story. Pros: She is nice to my dog and works quickly. Cons: She told me to call ahead before I arrived, but when I did they wouldn't answer and didn't call me back. I showed up after driving around and waiting for a while (since we made an appointment and I don't have the luxury to wait around all day for them to call me back), and she said, "Yeah, I got your message." I can understand that she might have been busy that day, but her husband was just standing around waiting for her to tell him to do things like put this dog there. No apologies or explanations, but plenty of snark from her (in his defense, maybe he is mute, since I never heard hime talk). We concluded the visit, and I decided to give them some more chances. They recommended I come back every two weeks to train my dog's quicks to recede. I am thinking, I can't just call every two weeks and hope they answer, that would be ridiculous. There are no other places I make actual scheduled appointments with that operate that way. So I suggest I come at their earliest appointment slot and we just make a standing appointment. She looked through her appointment book and agreed. Two weeks later, all went fine without a hitch. Two weeks after that, I have a sinus infection and I roll out of bed to get to the appointment on time anyway. At our appointment time, 8am on the dot, I get my dog out of the car and go to check to see if they are ready for him to come in. Door is locked. I walk around with my dog for 5 minutes, and check again. Still locked. I try calling. No answer, so I left another message. I wait for 15 more minutes, and nothing changes, and no calls back. I am sick and my dog is ready to do anything but wait around any longer, so I leave. I still have not received a call or explanation or apology for them not showing up for our scheduled appointment.

My dog has attended the Groovehound Daycare since she was 4 months old. She loves it here. The staff takes good care of her. When we see Gert or any of her crew on the street, my girl gets super excited. I love knowing that she has a healthy well behaved pack that she can hang with while I'm at work.

The Groove Hound is the number one grooming place in Philly, hands down! My big, stubborn Rottie-mix absolutely adores Gert, the lead groomer. She is so skilled with handling dogs, and she takes so much time to make sure he looks perfect. Gert is also a skilled trainer, and just talking with her is like walking away from a training class. She takes pride in what she does and truly loves her job, it's obvious.

Groove Hound is by the far the BEST groomer in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas! They are professional, clean, extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. My dog is super anxious and not the easiest to handle, but Gert and staff are great with him and handle him amazingly! I feel super comfortable dropping him off, knowing that he is in their care! I would give more stars if I could!!

I used to go to downtown groomers and had several bad experiences for way too much money...So when I found a fabulous groomer in my own back yard that is priced fairly I was thrilled! They don't just do a good job with my dogs...they are good people and even pointed out an issue with one of my dogs that I didn't know about, prompting me to get my dog properly treated at the Vet. That is what caring people do....I HIGHLY recommend them!
