My 19 year old cat has endured negative vet experiences in the past. Since moving to Fairmount we started going to Cat Doctor and it is very apparent that she feels dignity and respect the vet. She always peed in the carrier on the way home from the vet or in the vet office. This no longer occurs. She is calm when I bring her and calm when she gets home. I am very pleased with The Cat Doctor!

My cat has a long medical history but the vet was very patient, wanting to understand all of the details. It was a great experience despite not being able to go into the exam room with my cat (due to COVID precautions).

I've been taking my cat here for over 10 years and have had an incredible experience. Dr. McKee and the whole Cat Doctor team provide excellent care both for annual checkups and more intense health situations. From visit scheduling, appointments and follow-up phone calls to check on progress -- they go above and beyond to provide seamless and complete cat care. If you have a cat and are looking for an top notch and caring veterinarian -- this is the spot.

Left feeling like the office is a sales operation rather than a vet practice. Every conversation I had with them felt like a constant upsell to the services which were already expensive to start with. We got a kitten rescued from the street. I called for initial appointment, which included exam and a few shots. I had to ask for the price, which was $150. A bit pricey, but fine, rent isn't cheap around here. Dropped the kitten off. Got a call from the vet. She started saying how we should get these additional vaccines and tests and asking me to make decision over the phone. I agreed to most of them, which ended up totalling $300 for the whole thing. It felt like I was talking to a car salesperson rather than a vet. If they think these are important vaccines, why not include the prices in the original appointment quote as optional? Instead, you have to make the decision over the phone with a vet who is giving you "objective" medical advice and trying to upsell at the same time. It was super uncomfortable and felt like it was done on purpose to maximize sales. Then they wanted to see if we wanted to schedule spay operation with them. Their cost: $600! plus bloodwork, extra for complications, and I am sure hundreds of dollars in follow-up costs. No thank you! A simple web search will show you that that price is outrageous.

Very caring but you still cannot enter with ur cat.

Refused to give me a cheaper referral for insulin for my cat bc I cannot afford the prescription... And even if I could have gotten what they prescribed they were not going to show me how to inject my cat.

The cat office is clean, the staff is pleasant, and the vets explain everything in clear and precise terms.

The Cat Doctor takes great care of our kitty! They're good at their job, and they text/email you if you don't like phone calls. Definitely check them out!

I have been taking my two cats to The Cat Doctor for years, and I'm so pleased with the care they receive. The staff is thorough, attentive, and knowledgable. Even more impressive, the exceptional care they provide is not limited to felines - I feel like they try to communicate effectively and empathetically with their human clients. Both of my cats have had fairly extensive dental surgeries, which is an admittedly expensive procedure; but they provided an estimate and explanation of the cost, and I was not pressured or shamed into making any decisions immediately. Oh, and after the surgery, the vet called the next morning to check in on the recovering patient. Wow. I've found my forever vet. CAT DOCTOR FOR LIFE!

I called they weren’t really helpful

I guess the vet was new or something. I dropped them off due to Covid precautions and waited outside.She took an hour to tell me she couldn’t handle my cat. Apparently, she didn’t read his medical records or my pre visit survey where I told them he’s a scaredy cat. When she called after an hour to tell me she wasn’t going to see him, she kept talking over me. At one point, I asked her if she could hear me to make sure it wasn’t just a bad connect. She confirmed she could hear me and continued to be rude and abrasive.

My little girl Shen had not been well for a couple of weeks, I left a message after hours with The Cat Doctor and the following morning right after opening received a call from Jessica to get Shen scheduled. At that time all she had open was a Tuesday, which was 5 days away. I mentioned that I didn't think Shen would make it that long because she hadn't been eating. Jessica said she would check with the Doctor. I got a call back in about an hour or so letting me know that I could drop Shen off and the Doctor would see her when possible. Due to covid restrictions it was curbside drop off, quick, easy, informative super friendly and compassionate. Within a few hours I had 2 conversations with Dr. Beiting letting me know the options and within another 2hrs I was able to pick Shen up, meet with the Doctor for further instructions and plan next steps. Lots of communication and a great willingness to help during a desperate time for me and my furry girlfriend. Shen is eating and drinking around the clock and doing great! Thank you so much!

I was very happy with my fur baby after his visit, the doctor here took very great car of my cat Carl and was very reassuring and patient with his owner. I plan to bring Carl back for his bi-annual visit.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Everything was done very fast and efficiently overall awesome place for kitties!

Professional staff and knowledgeable veterinarians, but be careful and ask for an invoice before you pay them because things will get added on to your bill that you didn't discuss. And be sure to order meds on their online store because at the clinic, you'll be way overcharged for everything you can get for a fraction of the price online.

Wouldn't trust my kitty to anyone else.

We paid nearly triple the average rate for our young healthy cat to be spayed here and for a year after she continued to go into heat. We brought her in for multiple appointments with video evidence and they refused to be helpful or understanding about the situation. Feeling like we were crazy and seeing our cat was in pain we finally decided to get a second opinion. Our new vet gave our kitty an inexpensive test, found a sizable amount of ovarian tissue left behind, and had her back in surgery in less than a week. They even gave us the surgery for completely free to make up for the Cat Doctor's mistake. We are young pet owners and felt that our love for our cat was taken advantage of to up-charge us on everything from basic visits to tests and surgery. I'd recommend going somewhere a few blocks further that will put your cat's health first! We regret not switching vets sooner!

Just the best most caring veterinary practice I’ve been to in this city. Easy appointments, wonderful staff and reasonable prices. They actually listen to you!

They are friendly, helpful, and supportive of me and my cat, and of course certified. The waiting area is comfortable and pleasant.

They did everything they could to make sure my baby stayed alive. It was a roller coaster but, they saved the day. Love you guys

Very thorough, very kind and very competent! Even my cat doesn’t totally hate going there, which is a mouthful. They follow up! Like with texts. And I thought chivalry was dead.

The entire staff at The Cat Doctor is extremely welcoming. Dr. Chizmar is one of the best veterinarians I have ever experienced since adopting my cat Marley. She went above and beyond for us. For example, she cut Marley's nails free of charge and also had a phone conference with me the day after our visit to go over his dietary needs, also free of charge. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animal's. I am so grateful to have found an establishment like this for me and Marley to continue working with!
