They took Izzy as a new patient and came to her home. They were awesome with Izzy. I feel very comfortable with them taking care of Izzy and Izzy is comfortable with them also. Their staff is so very pleasant. Chloe is awsome.

Cancelled an appointment I made with over 1 month in advance and they refused to reimburse the $95 fee because "we had to hold your spot and are taking the spot from someone else"

My partner and I found a cat outside our home one year and a half ago. We posted photos of her everywhere and decided to take her in until someone responded. We took her to liberty vet for an appointment and to see if she was microchipped and we were told she was not- they were very much aware we found her outside so scanning for a chip should have been the priority. We decided to adopt her given that she was not chipped and no one responded to photos. Just got back from an appointment at Fishtown Animal Hospital (wonderful place) and found out she is microchipped- it took less than one second for them to figure this out. I am extremely disappointed and shocked that liberty vet did not test for a chip or relay the info to us- not sure what really happened.

My name is Christina & I am writing from a family member's account. If you are looking for intelligent, compassionate, capable care for your beloved pet, look to Dr. Bonnie at Liberty Vet Pets. I firmly believe my dog is alive today due to the medical analysis and fast action of Dr. Bonnie. Dr. Bonnie is a veterinarian who pays attention to patient owner concerns and thoroughly thinks through any possible problems without being dismissive or "cookie cutter" in any way. Dr. Bonnie takes on difficult cases and gives the patient her all. I have been quarantined in Philadelphia with my dog for reasons beyond my control. I had established my dog w/a different practice in August 2020 but they failed my dog miserably last week during a visit and sent him home with an unexplained and very visible injury and ignored the primary concern for which I had brought him in on an urgent care basis. Liberty Vet Pets fit my dog into their schedule for evaluation while the previous practice was obfuscating, gaslighting, and quite honestly, lying (they've refused to send his work-up sheet/take-home evaluation, itemized invoice, and answer questions while he was in crisis) Dealing with the previous vet put me into a serious PTSD episode. My dog has been with me & protected me through 2 different episodes of seizure, he flies w/me on airplanes, and stays w/me in hotels. He's more than a pet, he is a protective lifeline for me. I was worried about leaving my dog with a new vet where I could not see him (COVID protocols) however, Dr. Bonnie's office was non-judgmental and understanding. Dr. Bonnie met me outside for her patient intake. And, Dr. Bonnie set up an exam table in the waiting room office where I could see my dog! How many veterinarians would do that? Dr. Bonnie went above and beyond to not only show care to my dog but to me. She set up her "house call" table, front and center, directly where I could see my dog being examined. That is full transparency and true care. A couple days later, my dog was in a serious situation and when I called Liberty Vet Pets, Linda (who is fantastic!) immediately called Dr. Bonnie, who was at an outdoor event, and Dr. Bonnie called me from this outdoor event within 2 minutes and prescribed the appropriate medication for my dog which I was able to pick up from her office that day. And that day was a SATURDAY. Again, how many veterinarians call you on a Saturday? How many veterinarians call you on a Saturday and ensure that you have the necessary medication to properly treat your dog? Dr. Bonnie does. Dr. Bonnie is AMAZING. I am so thankful and grateful to her and everyone at Liberty Vet Pets. We are monitoring my dog and now I know he is in good hands. Now I know my dog is in the caring and thoughtful, expert hands of Dr. Bonnie.

SO over priced. Their staff is unprofessional. Pressure you into spending money on unnecessary medication for your pet. Do yourself a favor if you get a new puppy, go to SPCA in philly. I found out after going here that all the shots that cost $900 (!!) are FREE at SPCA. I’ve also been calling for 2 weeks straight to get a report that my pet has no pre-existing conditions and they HAVE NOT DELIVERED. I’m upset and I hate to give small businesses a bad review but they need to fix some of their practices

Updating my review of this place - We had a bad experience previously due to miscommunication and I was quick to post a negative review. Upon a 2nd visit for booster shots the staff here was kind, understanding, listened to our concerns, and did everything to help out our cat! And they were very accommodating to our budget due to their student discount. Myself, my roommates, and my cat are all feeling better.

We brought our new (healthy) puppy to see her for an initial visit, and the proposed fee was over $900. This included the cost of preventives (Heartgard and Nexgard) for which she was charging several hundred dollars more than Chewy and …

I don’t usually post reviews but given the amount of adoptions in Philly recently (????) I felt the need. My experience mirrors that of the reviews here describing unnecessary expensive testing, overall lack of professionalism (it’s always something that “has never happened before”), complete overreaction to minor issues for new pet owners and unnecessary medications. Do yourself (and your fur baby) a favor and go to World of Animals around the corner. In retrospect I’m glad that I realized something was off before it was way late for my bank account, pet, calendar, etc. but wish I’d known.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a vet. I only had one appointment with Dr. Bonnie for my cat and I have no complaints about her, but there's something seriously wrong with this business and their practices. I don't know if they are severely understaffed or have a records and sales system that doesn't function, or both of these things, but my experience was awful. After the vet saw my cat, I had to call and email multiple times to get anything else from them. This includes: medications I had already paid for that were supposed to be delivered to me, several test results for my cat, medications that I never received but had already paid for, a refund for the meds I never received which I had to pick up myself in person, and my cat's records. It took me over 8 months after the appointment to get everything straightened out with them. When you email any other vet office to get records, they just send them to you. At this office, I requested my cat's records in person when I went to pick up my refund and the woman at the front desk said she couldn't give them to me unless she got approval. She took my information and of course I never heard from her. I then emailed them multiple times and got the same response with no follow up, and had to continue reaching out for the records. At other vets, they also call you with your pet's test results rather than making you leave messages and continue to call, especially if the tests are important. I spent a lot of money for this visit and paid them in cash, but I wish I had just gone somewhere else. They were apologetic and kept claiming that what I was experiencing had never happened before, but I can't see how that's true, especially considering how long I went back and forth with them. I definitely don't recommend.

I brought my small dog to Dr Bonnie in March after he had bad symptoms of worms. She decided to run a few unnecessary and very expensive tests to check for other possible causes of his symptoms, including parvo despite him being 2 years old. She also put him on 14 days of antibiotics before receiving his results, which turned out to be unnecessary as well. I expressed my concern to her about these tests and she offered to give us the deworming medication free of charge as a result, which was appreciated but could not make up for the huge bill for tests which most vets would be able to complete in office. Now, my dog is dealing with an imbalance in his gut flora as a result of the antibiotics and is experiencing gut and skin issues as the result.

Very upfront about this review --> This is not about the quality or skill level of the vet/staff, I had to cancel my appointment (they do seem to have good reviews for that). They are up front about the costs when you call, but the costs just seem a little much and some are unnecessary. I am writing the review to make others aware when you are making appointments online they charge you for the visit, BUT it's not the visit cost its actually a non refundable deposit. The actual appointments are expensive relative to other vets in the city and this office charges an extra $21 pet waste for every visit. I had to cancel my appointment (did not get the money back) which also seems so unreasonable so I decided to take my business elsewhere. Just wanted to make others aware before booking appointments. Again, this review is not about the quality of care. I cannot speak to that.

Our English bulldog has bad allergies . We love Dr. Bonnie and her staff . They treat your animal like family . Oliver is a big baby and has grown to love her! House visits are a double win win as Oliver does not like the car . Highly recommend Liberty Vet Pets for your fur babies!

Very personable and friendly vets who really seem to care about your pets. We have a very anxious cat but they manage to get him to stay still enough for multiple vaccines. Great people, great service.

Dr. Bonnie and her amazing team has been very committed to my dog, they care for my dog as if he was their own dog, and this is exactly the kind of vet you hope to find. Every time we arrive at the vet, it is as if he has arrived at the park! He loves them and always so happy to see them. Absolutely outstanding care! So happy we found you for our Einstein!

Dr. B is hands down the best vet I have ever had in my life. Liberty vets provides exceptional service at their location but in the comfort of your home as well. While picking up my 2 boxers prescriptions at their office I can also purchase their vitamins & herbal supplements (all will be home delivered with a home visit for free) at their boutique with the most wholesome ingredients made by a vet too! They have a reward program as well.

Liberty Vet Pets is amazing! Dr. Bonnie is like a family friend and cares very much about my dog. They make house calls, and within minutes my home is transformed into a mini vets office with everything needed to do a comprehensive well and sick visit. This is important to me, because I am disabled and cannot drive. At the end of the visit, I am given a notebook listing all of the recommended treatment and services. It allows me to see the pricing and decide with Dr. Bonnie which is most important and what I can afford. The doctors in this practice are top notch. Their knowledge and caring are such a comfort . I know that my beloved bulldog is in good hands when they walk in my door.
