The last resting place of my beloved Pablo Escobar, the team at blue pearl did absolutely everything they could to save him but ultimately could not stop the inevitable. Thank you for all your hard work. I miss you so much

Took our dog in for evaluation, and the doctor was great in explaining what was wrong. However, the pricing is definitely on the high side. $250/visit, $450 chest X-ray!!!!! And a couple hundred more for meds. All that considered they still were on track for a 5 star review until the snotty, rude, undereducated and unprofessional receptionist got on the phone for payment. Her demeanor was that of a dive diner waitress. Fairly, they now get two stars, and lost our future business. Go to PASE, or Penn Vet.

I have been to BluePearl in South Philly for the past few years and they have always provided excellent care. My dog, Johnny, had cancer and underwent chemo here. When he ultimately had to be euthanized because he was suffering, I cannot describe the level of compassion with which we were treated, in the midst of the highest point of the COVID shutdown. This Christmas Eve, our new dog, Patxi, ate an entire chocolate cake when we left the room, so we were rushing to find a place to take him. All of the emergency clinics were at capacity, Blue Pearl included (and they were about to close), but after we hung up they called me back and squeezed him in. No, they are not the cheapest, but cheapest isn't always the best option. They are well-trained and provide exceptional care, from the front desk staff to the specialists. I would highly recommend.

I have to be honest: Ever since VSEC was acquired by BluePearl, their quality of care to both pets and owners has gone downhill and their prices have really raised. Which is a shame because they've been my go-to emergency vet place.

Have a friend that just lost her dog, she brought him in and he died. Now she wants his records and they won't give them to her. I know just by her terribly sad experience there... I will NEVER go to this place.

Our beloved 12-year-old pit-boxer needed ACL surgery and we took her here. Could not be happier with the outcome. We take 40-minute walks every day and she walks without the slightest inclination of a limp. Highly recommended!

I recommend not going here unless you have a ton of money or no other options. They are unorganized, unprofessional, and just want to take your money. Their prices are ridiculous and they are not transparent about what they charge you for. I took my dog here as he was extremely ill. They kept telling me different things and never figured out what was wrong with him despite charging me $2600+. I decided they couldn't be trusted and took my dog home. I followed all their instructions and yet my dog passed away a day and a half later. A total scam.

They absolutely do not care about you or your pet. I always go to Bree’s animal hospital however my cats condition started to worsen by the time Bree’s animal hospital was closed. I took him here because there aren’t any other 24/7 emergency veterinary clinics accepting patients at the moment. The technicians and the nurses will lie about how sick they “think” your pet is and make up more lies to avoid checking them in properly. I wouldn’t seek out treatment for my cat in the middle of night, wandering around the city and even crossing state lines if he truly wasn’t sick. This clinic seems fraudulent and more concerned with protecting their reputation. This will be evident by a condescending reply to my review either to atone for their mistakes or display me as being negligent. They won’t however offer any solutions to my cat who was the true victim of this clinic. Just an update* After another conversation over the phone, of course the estimated wait time is over 5 hours which seems pretty convenient since they didn’t want to see my cat in the first place. However this time when I accused the clinic of being negligent concerning this matter, the individual was at least honest and didn’t deny it. So even they will admit to being negligent.

As with most people going to a vet ER, it was a very bad day. I knew deep down that this was going to be my cat’s last vet visit but I felt gutted & guilty I was failing him. The doctor was so kind & helped me understand it was the right decision. They were honest & said even if I had unlimited funds to throw at this (I don’t) there was no outcome that was going to improve his quality of life. The staff made everything as easy as possible. They are caring & compassionate. I cannot think of anything else they could do to make a difficult day any better. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring a pet in need to emergency services there.

Money grab just like everyone said. The one time I decide I’m going to ignore the negative reviews, for the sake of god I shouldn’t have. Charged me 300 dollars for an iv and to tell me to go to another hospital. Front desk had totally rude energy. Save yourself the time and go to pase

Went twice to this place for an emergency. The first time waited outside for 3-4h, at that point our regular vet opened-so we just left. The second time I brought my little doggie for diarrhea that was not resulted after meds from a regular vet that were given the day before. This time we actually were seen just to be told basically “why are you even here? Just continue your meds it will get better”. 3h after that “wonderful” visit end up at another ER for more fluids and anti nausea medication, and find out that meds that were given by the regular vet were wrong and this is why dog was not getting better but worse! Button line: if an owner of a dog saying to you that there is something wrong-there is something wrong! Don’t be an arrogant know-it-all doctor that missed something!

I brought my senior cat in when she was not feeling well, and unfortunately we ended up putting her down to rest. The whole team at BluePearl Pet Hospital was extremely accommodating, understanding and comforting in the difficult time. They even followed up with a handwritten card in the mail a few days later expressing their sympathy. Special thanks to Lucas in the reception area, Cory and Dr. Harlow.

I had to take my cat Bobby Tuna to this er late last night due to breathing problems. What I didn't expect to do was make a hard choice to put him down, but I did to make sure he wasn't in pain anymore. The doctor that was in the room with me was awesome to me and I was able to say good bye to him and he wasn't alone as he passed on. Thank you to all the staff that was involved last night and thank you for the keep sake so I and my family can remember him.

I was referred by someone here because their dog also was diagnosed with IMHA. IMHA is a very scary disease and I wanted to make sure I brought my dog to the best place I could to save her. Anyway I got a very quick appointment which made me happy. But then I went on line and read all these reviews. I have to say that made me a bit nervous. We had a wonderful visit with Dr Clark who is a internal medicine vet. She and her team were very knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. She was very thorough and did many tests on our dog. Yes it was a bit expensive but that is what I expected for a specialist. I believe a lot if not all of these negative reviews are from people who when here on an emergency basis. I did see people waiting outside for quite a while. But please understand EVERYWHERE is like this since Covid. I did not go here on an emergency basis so I can’t relate to sitting and waiting hours for an emergency case. But the specialist that we saw was great and we did have a good experience. Everyone was nice from the girl who let us in the front door to the man who checked us out! Thank you all again for your services! You are all very appreciated

I brought my 10y/o mastiff mix I understand they were closing in 30 minutes but I was turned away due to almost closing time instead of them helping me by time I made it to the next vet my beloved best friend crossed the rainbow within the hour of transporting him he passed as they were taking him to the back if they could have started saving him I'm pretty sure my best friend will still be here don't go anywhere close to closing time

I'm not going to lie it's pricey but the amount of care, dedication, compassion, skill, and just overwhelming love for every animal that comes in is not missed at all. Everyone there loves animals from top surgeon to the security guard and cleaning staff. Sad to say most of my experiences here have been to say goodbye but but even then it's overwhelming to say the least how respectfully, and caring everyone is. They even send condolence cards after the fact. I have never received such compassion from an emergency vet office. recently I have had the pleasure of having the opportunity to not say goodbye and instead save a life of my partner and my furbaby. It was 3am and all hands were on deck and ready to help. They were so considerate of his needs and our needs on top of it all. They even worked with us to figure out the best game plan and not break the bank. This place is worth every penny. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ????????.

Not the best experience for me and my dog. I had such a long review of my experience I guess it was too long to post. Not my first choice to go next time my dog or cats have an emergency health problem. They were better when it was VSEC. I had a positive experience back then. Staff was rude and treated me like I had no clue how transparent they were acting towards me. Dirty room and waited 8 hours for a 10 min MINIMAL assessment of my dog. No tests done, nothing. Very unfortunate. Was repeatedly made obvious that we weren't welcome there. Sad thing is they had barely any pets in the place and no people allowed inside the waiting area (only outside) and they have a "triage nurse" at the front door to greet you and apparently does a "visual assessment" to get your pet's "vitals" (their words, not mine). Seriously? I never heard of getting "vitals" based on taking a glance at my dog. But ???? ok. I get the precautions for COVID... but this was a whole other level of disrespect, poor hygiene in our room (other pets debris everywhere and smelled), and their overall condescending talk towards me. The entire 8 hrs they made us wait in a small room and not go back out. I'm not going back there again unless I'm desperate and have no other options.

My cat was attacked by my foster dog. He didn't look well. After $1,200 and x-rays for about 4 hours of service, they couldn't find anything wrong with him. They suggested he stay for 2 more days to monitor for $2,500. I couldn't afford didn't say that, so they suggested I look into their credit options. I just felt pressured to keep him there, just to monitor him when they didn't see anything wrong. I took him home and every bad scenario they told me, didn't. He was eating that night and eventually made a full recovery. I do believe their initial services helped but $2,500 to monitor when they could see nothing wrong, seemed like a cash grab and made me feel less than cared for. I also received no follow-up from them, after spending $1,200.

I took my cat Jackson to the BP Hospital in Philadelphia for what appeared to be symptoms of an Upper Respiratory Infection and while it seemed like a trivial thing to take him to an emergency facility for, the whole staff was so caring and helpful! From the moment I walked in , to treatment and then discharge, I was informed, treated with kindness and they made what could have been a very stressful experience for both Jackson and I very pleasant and quick! Thank you so very much for taking care of my boy and just being patient and nice even if it was something minor, you all made it 100% better!

Worst experience ever. This place try to get you to apply for a credit card for charges that would have cost over 3000.00 dollars. I was charged 400.00 dollars for absolutely nothing to find out my dog was only giving fluids. Never the less the next day we went to the vet after my Pomeranian was lifeless. My vet took care of him gave meds boosters stop the vommitting and monitored him for over a hour therafter my honey bear was great for 300.00 dollars. The next day the vet called and followed up with us. That was two weeks ago. Thank you Frankford Vet

With the outrageous prices this place charges they should be located in California. Unreasonable prices called around found a place to do the same exact thing they wanted to charge $508 for $215. RIP OFFS

I felt I had to leave a review because I was looking for a veterinarian hospital when our senior chihuahua needed emergency medical care, and this hospital was the only one open at 6 AM. I read many negative reviews so I was nervous about taking my baby there (but I didn't have a choice because of the time of day). If I could give a 6-star review, I would. Pepsi was treated with utmost compassion and care and I will return in the future. When you need emergency care, for your beloved pet, they provide expert, dependable care and they provide options for care (from low cost to mega cost)... Service was prompt, and they provided privacy, and a quiet space to think (and sob our tears away). Could not have been better, and I cannot thank them enough. RIP our baby boy Pepsi.
