My cat needed a CT to determine what the lump near his shoulder blade was-Metro Vet was able to perform this the same day as his exam, which was super helpful because I like almost 2 hours away. Dr. Hearon called me to talk about what she saw on the CT and could not have done a better job explaining the results and what the next steps should be. Additionally, when Enzo was having a bit of a tough time recovering from the anesthesia, my phone calls were always returned promptly. I highly recommend this hospital as I’ve had nothing but a very positive experience.

I highly recommend Metropolitan Veterinary Associated. From the first call to schedule an appointment, through seeing the Doctor - everyone was great. We saw Dr. Schwab (who we have also seen years ago and loved him then too!). He is compassionate, professional and thorough. He really listened to understand what my pup is experiencing and offered a stepwise approach to treatment. I will never forget the first time we saw him years ago and how he so easily connected with my pup to make her feel more comfortable. He has an AMAZING bedside manner (can I call it that for a dog??? :)). Overall, the experience at MVA was great - front staff and technicians were friendly and knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could!

We needed an emergency vet for one of our pups and this was the first time we went to Metro. Everyone was very nice and professional. Our pup had a seizure and appeared paralyzed. The doctor stayed in touch and kept us informed on her thoughts and gave us tests options and prices before doing anything. Even though the doctor couldn't figure out what caused our pup's troubles, she was very supportive and compassionate not just towards our dog but me as well ( I was a mess to be honest - worried and crying ). Our dog improved with a medicine we were given. Very happy with Metro!

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing of a place this is. The staff are so helpful, and the vets are so thorough and really care about taking care of your pet. I have taken my cat Kira there two times for emergency visits, and they have exceeded my expectations with their help. They extend their genuine empathy, kindness and sympathize with your situation. They give such individualized care for being such a busy place. Kira had emergency surgery on Christmas Eve with a specialized doctor they called in to help, and was discharged later that day. As cheesy as this sounds, this was truly a Christmas miracle to me and I can’t express enough gratitude. Kira is fully recovered and back to being her sweet self. Thank you.

Metro did an amazing job helping my injured cat in an emergency! I was impressed with Every part of my experience with this vet. The ladies at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful, the nurses were excellent, and the doctor was great! I would definitely recommend Metropolitan veterinary Associates. I used them in an emergency situation but will definitely continue to use them

This place should not be in business. Took the dog as a new client. They took her in the back room to examine her for over an hour. Never communicated what they were doing. The doctor came in to speak to me for a few minutes. $800.00 later and medication that never needed to be administered we left. They had to be contacted to follow up on the pathology report. The information given was incorrect-they could not tell us or our primary veterinarian if the foot or ear had been tested. They ordered more high powered antibiotics and told us to give them until they could schedule another appointment!!! My husband argued that negligent response. They hung up the phone on us. We tried to call back and reach both the doctor and the manager, they said both were on vacation and hung up again. What an unprofessional and unreputable business.

We went on Christmas day with our cat. He could not pass urine. The staff were very professional. They took the utmost care with our cat and all the other pets that came in. Our kitty came home with medication. The vet was kind and cared for our boy very well. The staff sent emails with our Rx for special food as well as the invoice for our visit.

Our 22 year old cat Chloe has various conditions you might expect of such a senior citizen. Chloe Spertus, Ophthalmologist, was very knowledgeable, kind to our little girl and to us, and we left knowing far more about our Chloe's vision and related issues than before our visit. Worth every cent!

MVA thru the most sincere efforts of Dr. Lisa Lipits and nursing partner Brooke have saved and prolonged the life of my beautiful female English Setter " Honey". They were unable to save her sight but they have gotten her leukemia into a current 6 month remission period. As any true pet lover knows, every day of life for that pet is precious to its owner. Also Dr. Logan filling in for Dr. Lipits has done a great job of follow up with "Honey". I am totally pleased with all the Staff at MVA. ALL very professional and careing.❤

The staff doctors nurses and Emergency services are the most caring compassionate group of people you could entrust the care of your pets with have had the help of one of the best Dermatologists Dr Katherine Backel with our beloved shelties for years back to her residency at Penn Vet she and staff are the best! Dr Durand DVM we have also been blessed with our cat Lamar and Charles our beloved collie who passed at almost 18 because of the excellent care he lived a great happy life after being treated by both Doctors at MetVet . The care and love of Emergency Vet and staff for Charles on his last day was wonderful kind and helped us at one of the hardest times of our lives I am forever grateful to Metropolitan Veterinary Associates again for their care and excellent service and recommend their services, care and customer service to everyone who loves their beloved pets!

2 years ago my then 17yo Schnoodle was found to have a heart murmur by her fantastik, loving and kind holistic vet Dr Louise Morin. She sent us to Dr Miller (cardiologist) at Metropolitan Vet Assoc. Dr Miller is extremely professional, proficient and skilled. He has a personal and kind way - not like in the other vet specialty doctor mills. He really cares!! My dog had some leaky valves and pulmonary hypertension, was started on a medication and has been stable ever since. She is now 19!! I took her back yesterday and Dr Miller and his staff couldn't have been nicer to me and my dog. Very professional, very caring, and able to keep my old friend healthy and happy up until now and hopefully for more years to come!!!!! I highly recommend these folks!!!

Metro ER is just incredible. I had a terrible experience at the Vet on Main. Ended up taking our dog here. They took him in RIGHT AWAY. It was an emergency but regardless…the front desk, nurses and Dr were just top notch. They took care of my Rin and were so friendly. You have to realize that these animals and owners are not having a good day and I feel like they really try to make the situation as best as possible without giving any false hope. They are very caring people. Sadly for us, the news was not what we had hoped for but Dr. Lubitz was so empathetic. I could tell she was getting choked up a bit. We are all human and that to me is a freaking great Dr. She cares about her patients and the owners as well. She was also able to itemize and price out everything for us. She really takes the time to go above and beyond. Truly thankful for you all at Metro Vet. Highly highly recommend. I wouldn’t bring my dog anywhere else.

The staff was helpful and pleasant. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. My dog was there for a consult with a specialist, and I feel very good about the level of care he received and the expertise of the specialist that he saw.

Dr. Saver is an excellent internal specialist at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates. He is thorough, clear in explaining, and available in weeks of follow up. Our 2 Shiloh Shepherds have received great care from him and Metropolitan as we are trying to diagnose recent digestive issues. Would highly recommend!

I have utilized various specialists at Metro for multiple animals over the past 10+ years. Recently, I used their emergency services for the first time. My pets received excellent care each and every time. The vets and staff are absolutely amazing! They are extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and also great with communication, which is critical to ensuring appropriate care is being rendered and financial resources are being used wisely.

Metro misdiagnosed my cat to the tune of almost $4,000. My 5-year old, very active three-legged cat was having a variety of symptoms and behaviors – hobbling, legs splaying, pacing, staring into space, stuck in corners. I had a vet appointment, but her symptoms worsened over the holiday when she began howling while losing her bowels. I rushed her around the corner to Metropolitan and sat in my car for hours. The ER vet, Dr. Strand, said her blood work was normal; she was on the floor, didn’t want to move and didn’t want her spine touched. She was diagnosed with lumbar back/spinal pain, prescribed steroids and Gabapentin, a lower litter box, and follow up with my vet. She slept a lot, improved a little, with no problem using her regular litter box, so I doubted the back pain diagnosis. I returned to her vet as instructed. He ran additional tests but also did not think it was her back. He mentioned cancer instructing me to return to Metro. Thankfully, at my second visit, I had a different ER vet, Dr. Suvannavejh. She immediately suspected a meningioma compressing my cat’s brain. She noted subtle seizures such as ear twitching. The vet asked who said it was her spine – Metropolitan! A chest x-ray ruled out cancer, but an MRI revealed two meningiomas. The steroids had reduced the compression, which is why she showed improvement. Unfortunately, six weeks were wasted treating her for non-existent back pain, and the neurologist did not recommend surgery. I had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her, something I had never done. I have family and friends who euthanized their pets and, although difficult, it was a quiet, peaceful passing. The vet said they would wake my cat from the MRI anesthesia so I could spend time with her. I returned to Metro, paid my bill and escorted inside to a small cramped room where I waited - and waited - for over an hour – listening to the laughter from the front desk. When my cat started jerking, I went out to the desk and said she needed attention, asking if someone was going to wake her, or had we been completely forgotten. Covid – the place was empty! I was about to take my cat home when a doctor appeared through a crack in the door and placed a machine on the table. Between the stress and trauma of going from lumbar back pain to two brains tumors to euthanasia, and struggling through the long wait, I had no idea what the vet said through a mask and cracked door. Before I knew it, my cat was euthanized with a loud beeping and banging machine by her head. There was no prior communication or explanation about a machine anytime during my long hour wait. No quiet, peaceful passing. I called several vets in the area and no one heard of a euthanasia machine. I learned Metro rigged it up “due to Covid,” but there was no mention of a machine in Metro’s published Covid euthanasia guidelines. My entire experience with this hospital was horrible and below any standards of excellence and care. I learned from another very experience vet that my cat showed visible neurological symptoms during my first visit and notable seizures. Three hours, yet no one at Metro had the skill to pick up those visible symptoms. I can only wonder if something could have been done during those six weeks. Meningiomas in cats usually do not invade into brain tissue and are easily removed if caught early. At the very least, I could have made her more comfortable. Metro standards of care are dependent on which vet examines your pet, and they lack basic communication and compassion. Euthanasia is not a priority – but it was MY priority and deserves empathy, compassion and respect – not rushed through the convenience of a machine. There is no do-over. My cat deserved a peaceful, respectful and quiet passing, and they couldn’t even accomplish that. It breaks my heart that a loud beeping machine by her head was the last thing my cat heard. I expected better, and my cat deserved better.

I have the highest regard for the medical and nursing staff of MVA. I have been there many times, over the years, with my pet companions. I have found the medical staff receptive, informative, knowledgeable and supportive in the treatment …

We took our cat when she was having trouble breathing and couldn't be happier with the experience. Staff were friendly and Dr. Crossman was great. They took immediate action, kept us informed through the process. The place is very nice and they have a drink machine for guests - I highly recommend the hot chocolate while you wait, especially in the winter. Can't thank them enough.

The staff at metropolitan vet hospital in Norristown. PA were so kind to me and my precious black kitty Dionysus who had snuck out of the house on a very cold night. I didn't find him till the next day with a badly fractured back leg. He was given pain medication and had surgery the next day where two surgeons put together his leg and saved him from amputation which would have been devastating. The orthopedist spoke to me before and after the surgery and I felt confident about his recovery. From the front office, to the vet tech, to the night vet, then specialists for his surgery and then get nurse who explained his aftercare, I cannot express my gratitude enough.

Everyone I spoke to at this center was very nice and I could tell they cared about my cat. The receptionist was lovely, the tech was great, and the dr was really caring and informative. The place itself is very clean and neat. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Wow, they are the absolute best. This is probably the best emergency vet in the entire area, if not in all of the Philly metropolitan region. Their process was streamlined from start to finish, every staff member I encountered was friendly and answered all of my questions, and they were thorough and efficient but did not run any unnecessary tests or procedures on my kitty. When I was checking out, I braced myself, expecting a large bill an was very pleasantly surprised. They also offer 0% financing for amounts over $200 through CareCredit.

First time visiting Metropolitan. Our wonderful cat was diagnosed HyperThyroid. The waiting list is very long for the procedure. BUT, when it was Boos turn, he was treated with kindness. We received a call every afternoon with an update as to how he was doing, and told of the special snacks they make for the cats that stay the week for this procedure. Once Boo came home, his evening yowling stopped on the second night, and we can't wait to be able to cuddle with him once more. THANK YOU for your kindness!

Not that it's ever fun to have to take your pet to the ER, but all things considered, we had a wonderful experience here. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and willing to answer any and all questions---from the front desk to the nurses to the MDs. I specifically want to shout-out Dr. Buysse for her fantastic bedside manner, and for thoroughly explaining everything that was going on with our dog. She called with updates when she said she would, was clear about the tests/procedures that were being done, was upfront about the cost of treatment, and never left us hanging without knowing what was going on. I appreciate the MVA team so much, and I'm very glad that we came here. (Though I hope to never have to go back.) ;)

Waited 6 hrs, so far for our cat that had blood in urine. Think they should have handled this alot better, they were busy but we called before hand and they told us to bring him in. Tried to get an update and said we were next in line, been 30 min now and still waiting. If they were busy when we called they should have said something. We could have waited until tomorrow or gone some where else, this is not the place to bring your animals, if you do not like to wait half a night. All they saw was$$.

Second time visiting Metropolitan. The staff is always friendly and kind. They have taken great care of our cat for a fair price. The waiting room is great. I wish hospital waiting rooms were that comfortable.
