I was very hesitant to write this review, because I have been coming to this vet since 2013 with all of my animals and multiple friends of mine and family have come to this vet because I referred them. Unfortunately, I will be leaving this vet as well as all of my family. I am sickened by what this vet has caused me today. I have been very on top of my dogs health and very factual with his condition and how he was feeling. I alerted them this morning that he was not feeling good and I believed he had a blockage. They instructed me to come in at 1pm today for an Emergency Appointment. I hung up the phone and was Called back 20 minutes later and was alerted by the Staff at this establishment to bring my dog in immediately as he could have GVD or GDV which is basically a flipped stomach. I immediately left work and got him and took him right there because they said it was fatal and he could die within the hour. Here I am panicking that something is wrong with him. I get there at 11am this morning and was instructed to sit in a room... I was not seen for over 2 hours. I had to argue with the front desk too even be seen after they told me he could die within the hour and nobody seemed to address me that it was not the case or that he did not have GVD. I was very upset that this occurred. But, I am even more frustrated because they gave him fluids, nausea medication, and pain medication and said he would be better. I am now currently sitting at A-VETS in monroeville while they are trying to correct his flipped stomach and correct his intestine that has been slowly leaking feces into his body. I was told that this should have been caught earlier today and A-Vets is even appalled that this was not. My dogs life was put at a huge risk today because of this malpractice and I am not happy about it. If I were you, I would keep your animals away from this establishment unless you would like to be fed lies about your pets health and false hopes.

Very friendly caring staff. Our dog was very ill and we were able to see the vets with little delay on several occations. They do not cooperated with Chewy. Fair pricing.

Disappointed in this vet recently, after many years of using them. My last few communications with the front desk have been less than helpful, unfriendly and rushed when I call. It’s also time they come up with a plan to reopen to allowing pet owners in with their animals. Not all animals are comfortable at the vet. I don’t want let in because it serves MY needs, I want let in so that my pet can feel more comfortable, and to be able to ask questions in person while they are performing the exam. We are past due for an exam and am not comfortable not being there. They also need to consider getting a hydraulic lift exam table or 2 so they don’t have to try to do an exam on the floor when they can’t or don’t want to lift a larger dog.

I had such a wonderful experience here at East Pittsburgh Animal Hospital. They were able to operate on my precious kitty Walter & for a fare price, compared to what other facilities were asking for. They provided me with above and beyond service, sending me home with specific wet food for him, and an abundant of information as to what the next 2 weeks caring for Wally would look like. They assured me that if I had any questions, I could call and ask. They never acted bothered by me whatsoever. They respected that I was a concerned owner devoted to providing the best recovery for my baby & that I didn’t know all the answers or right things to do. They honestly cared for me as much as they did Wally. I can’t say enough good about this clinic. Highly, highly recommend!!!

Dr. Pope and his staff are amazing! Our dogs love going there. Our 3-1/2 yr old American Bulldog had to have both CCL surgeries within 6 months. The skill and care they gave her...5 wks after the second surgery and she barely has a limp and prior she could hardly get up. I highly recommend this clinic!

Doctor is very rude and shows no compassion, makes you feel bad for not wanting to make a decision about surgery right that second. Also very expensive came here in an emergency and they wanted to charge 500-600 for an ultrasound when my regular vet will do it for 75.

They are so unbelievably rude. I was highly recommended to go here and was stunned by how unprofessional they were. I asked to speak to the doctor as I was upset and was told in absolutely not. I will never come here again.

I called this place for information about becoming a patient to monitor an ongoing kidney issue with my dog. I have lived with this issue for 6 years and have became quite knowledgeable. I was AMAZED that the person answering the telephone did not want to take the time to speak to me and rushed me off of the call. I spend roughly $300 a month for tests and monitoring, and a $7 an hour employee didn't have time to discuss.... I think that says ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS PLACE. THEY SUCK.

If you are looking for a vet who is caring, thorough, and knowledgeable, this is the vet to choose. We chose this vet being new to this area after our other vet had a long wait for their next appointment. I am so glad we switched. They have treated our two dogs so well, and are so very thorough and take their time during your visit to answer any questions. They even called after an office visit to see how our dog was feeling. It's never chaotic there when we are waiting to be seen, which is a bonus when your animal is nervous about being there in the first place. They also had never met our elderly cat until the day we ended up having to euthanize her, and they were so sweet to her and to us. They even sent us a handwritten card of condolence which was just over the top of what we ever expected from a vet.

Had to go back 2 more times in 3 days and watch the same exam yield 2 different results and acquired more bills than answers. Their pricing is really high as well and they will nickle and dime you for everything you have done.

We moved from Silicon Valley, CA to Plum, PA In July of this year and had yet to find a new Veterinarian for my GF's Guide Dog Tonka. Tonka is a 12 1/2 year old yellow lab, who is terrified of thunder, and the stress it had taken its toll in the form of uncontrollable bloody diarrhea. The result was an expensive emergency visit to AVETS for immediate help. On our way there we passed Pittsburgh East Animal Hospital (PEAH), so on the return trip home I stopped to check out their facility and and staff. I found the receptionist very friendly and responsive to all of my questions. The information she provided assured me that they were well staffed and equipped to provide Tonka the care I wanted for him. I then made an appointment for Tonka's followup care. Our first visit was very informative and confirmed the decision to become their client. Everyone involved (reception, intake, veterinarian, and release staff were kind, friendly, professional, and clearly loved animals. Dr. Cauldwell's treatment plan was highly effective and resolved Tonka's GI bleeding in less than one week, and returned him to normal BM in about 10 days. I am extremely grateful and impressed with the quality of care available at PEAH, and the kindness and compassion of their staff across the board. I am confident that had I established a relationship with this practice before Tonka's emergency, they would have been able to take care of Tonka proactively, and saved us the stress and cost of emergency care. I definitely recommend Pittsburgh East Animal Hospital to anyone looking for affordable high quality pet care.
