I have always had good experiences here. I hope it continues. I do agree they charge more than some. However, they are helpful and caring!

Enter at your own risk...Took my dog in for allergies. Other than the allergies he was fine. He was prescribed two medications at the price of $$$$ very expensive. Plus the visit and examination. Another $$$$ very expensive. He started to vomit and had diarrhea after giving the medication and was told that it might have been the stress of the car ride home. My dog rides in my car all the time. Never had a problem. Had to go back and change one of his meds. Another $$$$ very expensive In total I paid $$$$$$$$ very expensive. My dog is still sick, two days now with vomiting and diarrhea. Plus the allergies.

Dr. Claxton and Dr. Darcy are both great. My puppy had a good experience when he got neutered today. Better experience then prior experiences. Wanted to make sure I updated my review.

The lady that answered the phone had an attitude right from the beginning. From the research I did I feel my dog needed care right away but I’m no expert so I called to see what their advice was. She offered no advice, no recommendations and only gave attitude.

This vet may charge more than some but the service is definitely worth it. We just took our 9 puppy litter there for vet check and they worked us in their schedule right away and the doc was very helpful and informative. We had a great experience compared to other vets in our area. Thanks, docs I will be back.

I never have trouble getting an appointment, and it's nice that they have hours on Saturdays. They take good care of my animals and are always happy to address any of my concerns.

My Mother recently took her cat (Sox) to this vet and was told she could have a procedure done which would probably help a blockage in his urinary. The other option is surgery, which would be a couple grand. Sox was taken out to here for this procedure and sent home. She followed the vets instuctions, only to return with an extra bill. I believe Sox had developed sepsis, the poor animal had no temperature and we were told that he is suffering. A female vet told my Mother an option would be to send Sox for a surgical procedure in Lancaster which would cost about 1500, but he is probably to far gone. In short, why was this not brought up by the other vet when they already received 1100, not including the 200 to put him to sleep. The receptionist was so cold to my Mom, it would have made Cruella Deville sick. Fifth Avenue not recommended in my experience. I wish we would have had the female vet cs. Dr. Death.

My mother took her cat to this place after me warning her about it. She found out first hand what incompetent crooks they are. They charged her 2 grand to observe her cat for 3 days only to release him back to her in the same condition. She took him to be put to sleep and pay more money. They do not know how to help sick animals and their fees are astronomical if you love your pet do not take it here.

5th Avenue Animal Hospital is the only place I will go for my animals! My 17 year old cat is diabetic and a Sunday morning I dropped his insulin bottle. I was SO upset and I didn't have a spare bottle. I called all the emergency vets in my area and no one have the insulin that I needed for my cat. I called 5th Avenue to see if they were open on Monday (New Years eve was that Monday. So I wasn't sure if the hours would be their normal hours). The operator picked up and explained that she would call the 'on call' doctor. The doctor called me that same day and met me at 5th avenue Animal Hospital so that I was able to buy my cat's insulin. There was NO extra charge for making the doctor come in on a Sunday (their day off) to purchase the insulin. I was BEYOND happy! I am so grateful for the service that 5th Avenue Animal Hospital provides me EVERY SINGLE TIME! Everyone there is SO sweet and they truly care about all the animals they help! Thank you SO much for helping me get my cats insulin!

We have been taking our animals (steers, sheep, cats, dogs) here for a very long time. They have always been very nice, friendly, and helpful while being very reasonably priced. They were quick to get us in last minute when we brought a puppy home that turned out to be sick and have always been helpful with coming out to the farm for check-ups with our 4-H animals! I strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for a new vet!

I've been taking my dogs here for years. The staff is always friendly and very helpful whenever I would call or visit. Even when emergency situations came up, they did their very best to get me the help my dog needed.

I recently suffered the loss of my beloved cat, Buttercup. A month before he passed he was taken to this vet because I noticed some blood in his stools so I took a fecal sample and they did some testing on him and told me he was relatively healthy only to find him dead at the bottom of the stairs without warning at midnight. He was then dropped off here and paid the ridiculous amount of money to have Buttercup cremated and I went to pick him up tonight only to have the desk lady show no sympathy for the situation and to say that she can’t release him to us until we pay the money even though we payed when we dropped him off and she said she was just following policy which actually more research will show that their policy is that they don’t send the pets through to be cremated until they receive payment. So she wasn’t following policy she was being an inconsiderate jerk and coving someone’s butt who obviously didn’t do their job, and profiting off of others suffering.

Had one of my cats howling trying to make him pee for a urine sample. I was not amused. My usual vet uses a needle for urine samples.

Amazing experience with Friendly staff, just got my dogs teeth cleaned there for the lowest price imaginable that I was quoted at other places for around 500-800! They did a great job on her teeth and I was nervous about her age and going under and everything went perfect! Highly recommend this vet I do not believe that they are out to get your money like other comments have said!

I took my cat here because he looked really sick and the vet that I always use did not answer the phone. Found out that my cat had crystallization in his bladder and was told that he would need to be in the hospital there for 3 days. I got a call the next morning telling me that my cat had a bad reaction to the anesthesia that was used and he had passed away the previous night. My cat has been under anesthesia twice before this experience and he didn't have any problems either time. Just seemed sketchy to me seeing as he was only a year old and was under before. I can honestly say I will never come back here.
