I did an appointment for my 2 cats,i talked to a vca representative,not sure who it was,but they gaved me a price rate for both,and the day of the appointment they gaved me another price number...not really happy with this...

Left for boarding, came back to a dead dog. Still have the audacity to send me a bill. I guess profits supersede a real hospital.

PLEASE RREAD BEFORE LEAVING LOVED ONES FOR BOARDING! So I loved this place not sure what happened. I left my Pug Capone for 5 days while I went on family vacation all was well. We get a call a day later that an employee fed Capone all of his 5 days worth of wet food in one single meal. At this point I’m like how could this happen it was written down twice by me and the host at the desk. So now with Capone being away from home now has none of the food he is used to. Fast forward to the end of the trip. We were promised someone would be there from the hours of 8am and 9am on Sunday so that my sister could pick him up *we were paying for this* they ended up waiting over an hour to get Capone no one answered the phones or texts till 9:06! Then lied to me saying that my sister was in the back of the hospital the whole time which makes no sense! The only reason this was not a 1 star is because they gave us Sunday free! NOT HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS! Especially one so crucial! Definitely think twice.

This staff and establishment has never failed us. And now, on top of always finding a way to fit us into their schedule or to help us over the phone, they have a 24 hour answering service for after hour care so we don't have to worry until the next day or even contemplate going to the horrible PETS emergency place. The VCA is the ONLY place I now know of that offers that kind of good and reputable service. Hopefully this will put P.E.T.S out of business. The VCA is all around incredible!

Kim the MANAGER IS THE WORST MOST UNPROFESSIONAL “MANAGER “ I’ve ever experienced with a veterinarian background when a emergency comes in and a dog is dying she had no empathy for my dog. In the parking lot gave them a heads up because ya know isn’t that the nice thing to do for a Emergency? After declining my senior 15 yr old boy end of life service. She then hung up on me twice after asking for medical advice for my dog for the end of his life. Client or not Kim and the Dr. at smoketown couldn’t make time for a euthanasia best of all the clients don’t even go in so they really couldn’t make 10 minutes of their time. Kim you should find yourself a new job field because I wouldn’t want another animal to suffer knowing that you can’t accommodate a gasping dog right out front your door!

The front desk staff is always extremely friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to help to answer questions. I love that they follow up after each appointment. I had the pleasure of talking with Sherry today who assisted with all my needs! Thank you so much; you are appreciated!

April 3, 2021 we noticed our cat Traveler started vomiting. Normally he doesn't ever have this problem and has never had hairball issues. He progressively got worse over the weekend and stopped eating. We were able to get him in that Monday for xrays and again on Tuesday after he got IV fluids. Tuesday evening the news came. Traveler needed life saving surgery and it needed to happen immediately. While we were never prepared to have a vet bill of that magnitude we couldn't put a price on his life. He was one of the family and he has a personality like no other. While they had to move their schedule to rush him in on Wednesday for emergency surgery, Dr. Russo and the entire staff did not disappoint. Dr. Russo is very knowledgeable and provided personal updates about how everything went. After we took him home we still get post-op care and check-ins to see how Traveler is making out. We want to thank everyone at smoketown animal hospital especially Dr. Russo.

They had my dog in and out and you talk to the doctor and staff by phone. They're doing curbside service due to COVID. But they were quick and friendly and gentle with my dog.

This has been our go to vet since moving to Lancaster. Really appreciate the safety measures they are taking due to Covid.

First visit with our little guy. Really friendly staff and doctor. Cute doggie walk area to use while we waited. Current times have everything changed, I'm so glad they have adapted to remain open for our furry family members ????

I've been taking my cat here since he was a kitten, 4 years ago. The staff is very nice, they love all animals. Even ones as difficult as mine can be.

The doctor was very gentle with my old puppers! He is going on 14 and isn't always a gentleman when around people he doesn't know. I am very happy with Smoketown Vet hospital!!

Wonderful service. Staff is always super friendly and everyone is excellent with my dogs! Dr Shellenberger is the absolute best, and the only vet I trust with my doberman!

I've always had good results here. Staff is very educated and smart about their craft. They are also friendly and courteous to me and my animals. Nothing in the vet industry is cheap, but I'd go as far as to say the prices here are reasonable.

When I called they made a Appointment right away. They were wonderful on the phone. When my husband took our baby Schotz they were kind and told him everything. All of the people there were great.

I brought my puppy here back in April 2019 when he was 4 weeks old. He has gotten all his shots etc here. Up until this last two months I have had a good experience. Because of COVID I wasn’t allowed to walk my dog in the building even though they new he has behavioral issues at times and he needs to warm up to staff. I took him to get a simple nail clipping & they want me to sedate him to do it even though they did it months before several time with no issues. The only difference is I couldn’t come in the building and the staff didn’t even try to warm up to him. I this week with a concern about a spot (hotspot) on his leg. Asking if I could get an antibiotic for him. The staff yesterday understood and had me take pictures and email to the doctor. Today I get a call they want to see him for a visit but I still can’t go in even though we’re in YELLOW and the waiting rooms are separate. I just don’t understand. Still no antibiotic and no call from a doctor about this spot. Just seems like this place wants me to put all the money into simple problems that could easily be address with out the extra expenses. No plan was offered NOTHING! I’m ashamed to be apart of this animal hospital! Ashamed! I’ll be looking for a new one ASAP

They took me on a last minute visit, were very friendly, and gave my dog a welcome bag. I was elated and the vet was very attentive. Kudos to Smoketown VCA.
